The length and depth is the point
There are plenty of places to get quick and concise political arguments. They're called soundbites and they're EVERYWHERE on the tv networks. I've been following bloggingheads on the web for a while and now via the podcast specifically BECAUSE they really go into detail and work through the subtleties of the isssues. And they talk like actual reasonable human beings most of the time, instead of screaming at each other and us. This is where I go for reasoned political discourse anymore. I can't stand the short attention span theater of most political broadcasts - the issues aren't simple and can't be reduced to talking points without dumbing down the whole works. The only complaint is that sometimes the production values are so bad you practically can't hear one of the participants. Some minimum standards for the camera and sound quality would be good.
Ok but too long and rambling.
I usually like the speakers and topics in this series of dialogues. But I wish they would exercise a little discipline and focus on one thing for 20-30 minutes max. An hour plus is just too long.
