Relational Messages

Excellent life applications and relevant truth from God's word!

The Thin Line

I loved this message by John Woodall. Christians get so hung up on rules, I know I have in the past. When rules trump all else, we have a religion in the making and I personally hate religion. I believe with all my heart that "religion" is the single biggest roadblock to actually getting Personal with God. Christ set us free from all that nonsense. The problem is most of us just don't know it and like John Woodall said, we end up being very tired, worn out believers. John makes it known through scripture that our sinful nature always wants to take over, no matter where we are in our walk. I come to accept that. But I have to share that I am learning to rely on the Spirit to save me from myself. I am learning that I can't do good on my own, even with my very best intentions. I can't tell you how exciting it is to learn to lean on the Spirit of my Lord. Temptations to do what I clearly know are not healthy, correction, just plain evil, have been completely eliminated by the Spirit. I also know what it means to be in the flesh, to rely on my own power. Well, I can tell you I have none. I am too weak. But the power of the Spirit is boundless. And like John's own story, I too still struggle. But now I know to "Don't say no, say help!" And equally important, I have lived to know the difference. Thanks John for this message. It makes me want to go deeper in understanding the great Helper you spoke of. Thanks for the sharing the simple truth that "we have to own it to disown it." Thanks for sharing an even more powerful truth that we have the opportunity to live incredibly rich lives, full of freedom through the Spirit.

Great for missed sermon or to pass along.

Thanks for letting these be available. While I LOVE going to ther services to feel the wonderful sense of community and especially to worship at the beginning, this takes the pressure off if I miss one every once in awhile. Truly though, I've used this podcast to download my favorite sermons after I see them at church and then to burn them onto CDs for anyone in my small group who couldn't make it or for friends who may not be sure about attending services yet.
