I actually found it kind of boring….hmmmmm to each his own i guess… Tillman —– Was just going to say i was having a not amazing day and was just cleaning and listening to your show, and then i hear brian tell some caller how to spell g-i-v-e-i-t.com and pinterest haha. Made my day loveeeeee the jokes! love the show!(obviously) TOMAS —– Hi BOL crew, I think this sums up pinterest perfectly: http://ilovecharts.tumblr.com/post/16875898793/people-who-use-pinterest-i-dont-want-to-start I have a Pinterest account and am female, but I just don’t get it. If I want to share something I find online with my friends, I do it on Facebook or Twitter. If I want to save something for later, I use instapaper. And if I want to mark something as “”to buy”" I do it on Amazon. I just don’t see how Pinterest fits in. Love the show! Nicole —– Hi Buzz Crew, First, I’m a lady, so maybe what I have to say is not what you’re looking for, but I really like Pinterest. I’m planning a wedding, so I’m pulling together images of flowers and hairstyles that I really like to help with inspiration. I also like to find recipes, pottery (I’m a potter, so I like to see what other people are doing with their work), and other creative ideas through pinterest. But I can see where it’s a niche market for people with two X chromosomes. I do find it overwhelming at times and have trouble with self-curation. We’ll see how it changes as it develops. As my fiance (who introduced me to BOL) said when he discovered I was on the site, “Bitches love Pinterest.” It’s true. The one thing that I don’t hear anybody saying is that Foxconn is actually one of the better factories to work at in China. A coworker of mine who has been to several big manufacturing plants in China/Asia (including Foxconn) says that there are dozens if not hundreds of plants from big clothing and electronics manufacturers who do not provide any oversight or supervision in the way that Apple does. Because of all the press surrounding Foxconn, Apple is working to improve things by placing supervisors in the factories and pressuring change. Clearly, Apple can and should do more (being the biggest player in the area) but they are also taking all the heat in the press so that these other companies have no motivation to improve conditions because they are ignored by the media. Just wanted to point that out, I think it would be great if Apple and Foxconn completely reformed their practices, but the fact is that it’s a problem with the whole system and not just one company. G’Day Mates! from down under Bryan – MATE! —– Hey Buzz Crew, In episode #1577 you guys talked about the new iTunes U and what that could mean for schools that want to adopt this technology. My high school in Ohio has been using iPads as digital workbooks since the start of the 2010-11 school year, so I thought I should share a few details about how the system was implemented. My high school is a private catholic school, so I understand that it may not be representative of how public schools could implement it, but I figure the information will be useful nonetheless. As part of the cost of attendance, a $200 fee was added as a “”rental fee”" for use of the ipad for a year. Each year a student attends the school they pay the fee, and get to keep the iPad upon graduation. Students can even keep the iPad on su | 1/26/12 | Free | View In iTunes |

Wish we could go back
When Molly Wood was replaced by Natali Del Conte I tried very hard to give her a chance. I just cannot take it anymore. Natali comes off as one of the most spoiled and unhumorous hosts you could imagine. Spoiled because she whines every time someone is critical of her and unhumourous because her comments are just not very interesting or entertaining. Tom and Jason as well as the many great guest hosts just cannot make up for Natali. I am sorry beacause I was a faithful listener for 2+ years before this. Take her off and the show would be on my list again.
Please move Nat back to once a week. Please...
I feel that the quality of the show has dropped significantly. Not only does she seem to not bring relevant insight or stories to this podcast, Natali's condescending tones over stories, jokes or references that she does not seem to understand bring down the mood of the show when Tom, Jason or Guest are riffing. I really love BOL’s geeky humor, insightful commentary, relevant stories and intelligent banter, but lately it is becoming painful to listen to the podcast. As Nat continues to tell you what "I already spoke about this on my podcast" or her daily 'dad' update, Let's go back to Tech. Please... I really miss the show.
Perfect daily tech news and info.
If This Week in Tech is your "weekly" consumer tech source, then Buzz Out Loud from CNET should certainly be your "daily" source. I discovered the Buzz Out Loud podcast on DIGG.com, thankfully. If you're like me and are a huge fan of DIGG, TWiT, etc, then you will be happy to have found Buzz Out Loud. Tom and Molly make a great hosting duo, and will quickly become your tech insider friends. It's my daily tech fix, can't imagine being without it now.
