Josh's example

Josh McDowell was an intellectual giant who, around 35 yrs. ago, set out to disprove the Bible. That was his goal, and he picked it apart. He was skeptic of it's claims but wasn't the type of person to respond with unsubstantiated opinions. He wanted to review the facts (for AND against) and THEN make his decision. Several reviewers here could learn from him and not take the "I know what I believe, don't confuse me with the facts" mentality. I've read Josh's books and met him and can say that he puts EVERYTHING to the test. The DaVinci code claims are no different. The information presented here did not come from his listening to late night talk shows or reading internet blogs/forums. Some people could learn from Josh's example. side note: Just because a historical document is shown to be "authentic" doesn't mean that it is true! ex.- writings of Judas. Authentic?, most likely, but even the learned people of that day put it to the test and found no truth in it. That says something. This is a podcast which is packed with information, well presented, and professionally produced. Worth your while to listen, step back and evaluate what you've heard, and THEN decide. This brings up the subject of what you use for a "measuring stick" to measure what is true because truth is NOT relative. What is true today will be true tomorrow. But that's another subject. :-)

It's apparent that the previous 4 reviewers did not give this podcast a chance. They already had "answers" before listening to it. The Bible says to test everything and hold on to the good. That's what this podcast is aiming to do. In this age of gullibility, most people will accept any new idea (The Da Vinci Code included) without testing or doing research of their own. It's sad that people reject God not because of intellectual obstacles but because of personal ones.

Don't be quick to judge...

Complaining about falsehoods in Titanic when claiming the DaVinci Code as historical fact, despite it being a work of fiction, shows how vastly different, and how important the truth is, and must be presented. Josh McDowell takes a good look at refuting the false gnostic gospels and the claims presented by a fictional book, taken as fact. An open mind needs to be there in BOTH directions and not simply disregarded because you think a certain people group is stupid or deluded. Simply put the DaVinci Code is in the fiction section, The Bible is not. The Bible still remains the most accurate historical record in history.
