| 87 | VideoCenPho.tv for November 20th 2008 | A couple of weeks ago, we mentioned the new ìX marks the spotî thatís going to be replacing the Copper Square brand thatís currently used identify the downtown area. Along WITH that, weíll be getting NEW signs all around downtown letting you know where you are AND how to get where you want to go. There are a FEW proposed designs, and the public is invited to pick their favorite from now until November twenty sixth. For the link to SEE your options AND voice your opinion, check out our show notes at cenpho.tv. The Greater Phoenix Chamber of Commerce is seeking nominations for the 2009 Impact Business of the Year Awards. The awards recognize businesses AND entrepreneurs that have positively contributed to the community through involvement, innovation, response to adversity AND company culture. If YOU have a business youíd like to nominate, weíve got the link for you at cenpho.tv CenPho TV got some VERY exciting news this week. FIRST he brought us big breakfasts. THEN he brought us a swank cocktail joint. NOW, Matt Poole of Mattís Big Breakfast and the Roosevelt is reportedly opening up a coffeeshop downtown, near First Street and McDowell. Matt hasnít steered us wrong yet, so you can BET that weíre looking forward to this. Hereís hoping we donít have to wait for an hour to get in, because pancakes Iíll wait forÖbut coffee not so much. Weíll keep a close eye on this project, and youíll be the FIRST to hear as we get more details. Also opening up soon is Hannyís at Second Street and Adams. Karl Kopp, who is behind AZ88 in Scottsdale, is planning to bring a new bar and restaurant to downtown Phoenix. With plans for LATE night hours, a GREAT looking menu, AND cocktails, Hannyís sounds like JUST what we need. As SOON as we get a website for Hannyís and a firm opening date, weíll let you know.On Monday, the Maricopa county Board of Supervisors voted to delay eighty six million dollars in projects in order to move ahead with a sixteen story Criminal Court Tower downtown. The tower will be in the block between first and second avenues, and Jackson and Madison streets. Theyíll break ground on the project next month, and expect to have it completed in early 2012. The county has been saving for this three hundred and forty million dollar project for years, and decided that going ahead with it now will be a boost to the local economy, as well as deal with the ever growing number of felony cases filed yearly. STUFF TO DOThere is a bunch of stuff to do this Sunday, November the twenty third, and the best thing is that theyíre all downtown and within walking distance. At noon, you can take your dog to play on the Diamondbacks outfield at Chase Field. A $10 donation gets two people and one dog in, and includes a family photo. At Heritage Square from eleven am to six pm, you can visit ìDiscover Indiaî ,a celebration of Indian culture. theyíll have food, music, and dance , as well as a bazaar with clothes, jewelry and crafts. And lastly on Sunday, at the Arizona State Capitol from five to six pm, a vigil will be held for Transgender Day of Remembrance, in honor of gay and transgendered people who have been victims of violence. | 11/20/08 | Free | View In iTunes |

I finally know what is happening in Phoenix
I love CenPho TV. It is a great source for Phoenix "happenings", weather you live here full time, or are just visiting. Jacqui Johnson & Dave Brookhouser do an awesome job. It could also be a great idea for other cities to start one up, so we know what will be happening if we ever go on vacation.
