Great concept...but PLEASE buy a mic!!!
Okay, I love the idea. (Seriously, I do!!!) I love learning from the men (and women) "in the trenches" (or behind the bar). And I certainly enjoy the DC-centric nature of many of these podcasts. But seriously, Oh Gosh! gang...swing by the nearest Radio Shack and buy yourselves a decent wireless microphone. I could barely make it through the first Bourbon episode (and no, that was NOT my first!) because of all the friggin' ambient noise (ie. the overly chatty folks that must've been literally one or two barstools away from the tripod!). Another suggestion, which is honestly so far less important than getting a decent microphone, is to perhaps consider doing multiple takes. Even as a decidedly amateur videographer, I know full well the benefits of running through something a few times. Tell the bartenders you've got the cam on or not -- just explain that you want to film it several times "for editing purposes." Then you'll have more to work with as you put this together and send it out to the masses. Finally...and I mean this very genuinely...if you need any help with this, let me know because I would love to give you a hand!
