This Podcast is GREAT!
Jerzy Drozd is easily one of the most entertaining guys to listen to in comics, not to mention a great artist in his own right. While working by myself on my art projects, I often wished that I had a group of art buddies to hang out with, just like I did back when I was in high school. Well, now I do!
These shows are inspiring and informative, not to mention FUN. Jerzy was great with the Art and Story podcast (so sad it's ended), but Comics Are Great continues to carry the torch, and picks up where the other left off. In fact, with a revolving cast of creators and the addition of video, I dare say this is even a step ABOVE Art and Story. While watching the show in video is preferred, listening to the audio podcast version works equally as well, when one is working on their own comics projects.
Keep it up Jerzy!
A great follow on to "Art & Story"
Comic artist and teacher, Jerzy Drozd is a natural raconteur and host, in this follow on from the legendary "Art & Story" podcasts. The podcasts, themselves are, informative, fun and full of pleasant surprises. I consider this podcast, in the same class as the "5by5" tech podcasts and just as essential. Drozd, as host, is of the same caliber, as Dan Benjamin.
Invaluable - and super fun
I too was an Art & Story follower - LOVED that show! And I agree with everything the other (so far) reviewer said about this podcast.
I'm consistently astonished and inspired by these artists with their generosity and wealth of info and opinions shared freely. Jerzy is a great host and I love how much he laughs. No one is ever too cool to be goofy or enthusiastic - and no one ever slams other artists. I really like that. It's a positive atmosphere and the podcasts regularly accompany me while I work on my own art. It's grrrreat!!!!
