Christian McBride presents a very personal and engaging series for 2009 – Conversations with Christian. The venture will produce 20 duets - musical conversations - with a diverse array of guest including Hank Jones, Angélique Kidjo, Roy Hargrove, George Duke, Chick Corea, Wynton Marsalis, Russell Malone, Eddie Palmieri, Sting and others. The duets’ actual conversational accompaniment will be featured in a series of podcasts, usually with exclusive pictures or video. The musical accompaniment will be available at iTunes.

Love both of these gifted vessels!
Reminiscent of Piano Jazz w/ Marian McPartland
Nicely done! I'm a bit of a neophyte to the Jazz world – and sources of information on contemporary Jazz artists are not plentiful – so I was waiting for something like this to come along in a podcast format. I downloaded the video podcasts; nicely put together photo-vignettes that aren't too distracting for listening while working in my studio. The format is very similar to Marian McPartland's Piano Jazz. I would have given 5 stars if there had been more than one number played. Maybe one in the middle of the interview and one at the end? Just a thought. Looking forward to the next one.
