Customer Reviews
Quality naturalism/supernaturalism debating without the rigid format.
A refreshing departure from the more academic exhausting debate format that account for the lions share of this genre’s audio, this show allows for natural discussion to get past the veneer layer of the topic and flesh out the gritty-details of different positions in an honest and open manner that can appeal to almost anyone interested in philosophical naturalism/supernaturalism topics. Good work with the podcast and the revamped companion website with an incredible amount of archived debates and speeches. Hope you find some time to get it started back up. Good audio quality, good guests and great discussion.
Serious philosophy that is bearable...even enjoyable!
Philosophical discussion is not the sort of discourse that lends itself to a podcast. Rather, the tedious nature of logical argumentation is usually best digested in print where one has the time to stare, to think, to make notes, etc. So it was with low expectations that I downloaded an episode of Conversations from the Pale Blue Dot. Add the fact that I am an evangelical Christian, not an atheist or agnostic, and the bar was lower still. But, the diversity of guests, which included theists, atheists, and everything in between, piqued my interest. I am pleased to say after listening to several episodes that this is an excellent podcast. The guests are top notch, the host (lukeprog) is well informed and steers the conversation in the right direction, but still allows his guests control of the conversation. Those interested in philosophy, particularly philosophy of religion, should subscribe to this podcast.
In A Class All Its Own!
This is, hands down, one of the most enertaining, challenging, and informative podcasts out there. The guests are diverse, from Christian apologists to physicists to philosophers and historians. I love that Luke lets his guests do most of the talking and always seems to ask the questions that I would ask. No matter where you fall on the religious spectrum, don't miss this podcast!
