Thank you! Thank you!
What a wonderful podcast. So well done, and just so full of so much that is "fiberistical" and "historical"! I especially enjoy it because I live here in DC and am a big fan of Looped Yarnworks. But I am certain I would enjoy it as much even if I lived on the other side of the country, because, it provides a wonderful sense of place and people, and the community. I especially love the historical knitting segments, just hearing about the patterns, where they came from, and how they were done. Thanks for all the work that I know must go into producing this. Much appreciated! Laura
Great Idea!
Every knitting and crafting podcaster has a different way of going about doing their podcast and Colleen has come up with a wonderful idea here. Being in Washington DC, she has the unique position of having her city available to her and to teach us about what it has to offer. Of course I knew about the Library of Congress, but who would have thought to pull up historical books and magazines about knitting? And hearing her read from the 1904 magazine was quite interesting. It's not "just" knitting, but all of the history and what was going on around the women who were knitting all tied up in that magazine. Their attitudes about women's rights and the vote and working and fashion - it's all part of the history of our country. I am looking forward to learning something each time I listen to this podcast! And I know it will change the way I visit DC in the future!
Congratulations on starting your own podcast DC Knitter!
fun podcast!
I am really enjoying Colleen's podcast. From her knowledge about fiber to the information about living in Washington DC, it is great fun. And her interest in historical knitting/fiber is great, as well as her chats with her LYS owner. Give it a listen...you won't be disappointed!
