Fantastic and Fun, you will be hooked.

You want something fun to listen to? Yes. You like adventure, mystery, drama? Good. You know that gals can kick butt just as much as the guys can? Right On! Then you are gonna love Decoder Ring Theatre. Black Jack Justice and his partner Trixie Dixon (Girl Detective) are a crime fighting team that could have walked off the pages of a Dashiell Hammett novel. However, Trixie is a lot tougher than Nora Charles and Black Jack could probably drink Nick under the table. If hard-boiled detective aren't your style, then try The Red Panda. He's the greatest, he's fantastic, he's the best. And his sidekick the Flying Squirrel always has his back. In just one episode, you will be hooked to this podcast, and just like me, you will await every episode like mana from heaven.

Who is that masked man in a fedora?

If you have any interest in old time radio drama or if you don't, Decoder Ring Theater is your address to adventure. This group offers a range of dramatic to comedic shows framed around two sets of characters. The Red Panda Adventures treats the listener to adventure stories of the masked title character and moxie-packing sidekick Kit Baxter a.k.a. The Flying Squrriel. These stories are in the tradition of all masked heros. Black Jack Justice is the cases of the hard-boiled detective Black Jack Justice and his partner Trixy Dixson. Both series are true to form and produced with the highest production values I have ever heard from a full cast audio-play. While most people enjoy both shows one or the other will entertain anyone you know. If you are looking for a truly addictive podcast, this is the podcast for you.

One of the Best

Decoder Ring Theatre gets so many things right. I'm kicking myself for not subscribing sooner. PRODUCTION VALUES -- DRT has a great minimalist sound to it. While many audio drama podcasts use a lot of sound effects, DRT only uses what a bit to really get the point across. It leaves more for the listener's imagination. Also, the music is great to provide the proper 1940's mis en scene. PLOTTING -- The stories are tight, with strong characterizations. The themes are good, cliched fun. I especially like the underlying story of the relationship between the Red Panda and the Flying Squirrel. They also do their fact checking, especially for the Egyptian mythology in the first episode. A big plus in my book. HUMOR -- I find myself grinning my way through each episode. The parodying of The Shadow, The Green Hornet, and Batman is a great concept. If you can love something to laugh at it, that's always a good thing. Subcribe, subscribe away!
