Customer Reviews
Great reporting.
Unlike either Fox or Air America (which I can't really get into), Goodman and Gonzalez and the rest of the DN staff give amazing reportage, covering all sides of an issue - one could say that it's decidedly left, but it's anything but partisan... One gets the sense that their allegiance is to the truth, and the public interest.
Jackpot!!!
Suddenly having on-demand access to the entire Democracy Now podcast library is like winning some kind of unquantifiable lottery -- and we all, miraculously, have the winning ticket. Amy Goodman is, in my opinion, the best independent journalist of our times, courageously blazing trails where the corporate media yes-men fear to tread.
Complacency Not
This is the ONLY remaining source of non-embedded national newsmedia that I now trust. Prior to the misuse (or perhaps the intended use?) of the tragic events of 911 to manipulate public opinion to enact PNAC's objectives to erode the constitution and re-militarize the planet, I did not fully undertstand how dangerous our major sources of information could be just by their lack of objectivity. The FCC has scared investgative journalism off the airwaves and it appears to now be much more cost effective to regurgitate the Whitehouse press briefings and entertain the public. It is that impotence and complacency that I now see as the reason for our ignorance. Democracy Now has restored some of my faith in humanity.
