Lurking in the Trees
Lurking in the Trees is an excellent documentary about the infestation of the Asian Longhorn Beetle in Worcester, MA. The documentary describes the possibilities how the ALB arrived in Worcester, the identification, the infestation, the devastation of tens of thousand of maple trees, and the eradication methods used to elimate this destructive beetle.
For 8 generations my family has been producing maple syrup in New Hampshire so we know first hand why it is so importanant to monitor and more importantly education the general public about not moving firewood across state lines. In New Hampshire it is illegal to bring firewood into the state from Massachusetts and Lurking in the Trees put the exclamation point on why!
The stunning overhead images in the beginning of the documentary are a powerful reason we need to be vigilant.
Lurking in the Trees is well written, very informative, and very important.
Important info here!
I agree with previous review. Great documentary. Plus, it's important that we all become vigilant and just like we may report suspicious activity, we should be researching &, if needed, reporting suspicious insects. I have always loved trees but never really considered their impact on a neighborhood and what life would be like without them. Many thanks to the people who made this documentary possible, for the great eye-opener!
