100 Podcasts and counting!

Runner Matt's "weekly-ish" episodes are full of useful information to make you a better and more informed runner. The typical show contains a bit of running news, a bit about Matt's training and a more substantive section concerning a running related topic such as a work-out review, training plan review, training method, race review, etc. Episodes are well-done and informative. I highly recommend this podcast to anyone who is a runner no matter what level of experience.

Best PodCast for Runners

Matt makes the best podcast out there for runners! He is informative but not goofy, talks about the issues that are on all runners minds (who made it through the Olympic Trials, running with dogs, training plans, etc.), but does it without the heavy breathing of all the other running podcasts out there. He is cool, consistent, stays in touch with his listeners, and overall entertains. Sometimes I listen to this on the run, sometimes in the car. Either way, I am always excited when a new episode is released.

two thumbs up

Excellent. It seems that most running podcasts fall into one of two categories: (1) couch to 5k in 6 months with stories about running 14 minute miles; and (2) boring, rambling musings from dudes that aren't really focused on running. In contrast, Matt is a good recreational runner and his podcast reflects that. His advice is solid and his training and race reports are good. He also has good summaries of what is going on in the elite world. He is too the point, in contrast to so many of the more annoying running podcasts. He mispronounces some words (the "e" in Nike is not silent; German Fernandez's first name sounds like "her-man" not the country). That is my only criticism. Otherwise substantive and excellent. I look forward to it.
