Sit back and enjoy this latest installment of the show! Whew what a game! Hopefully you like sports cause that's what this episode is all about. Q, Mike, SquareRoss and the return of ShadyTheBiker talk all about the Big Game this last weekend. That's right, football baby! The crew jumps right in to discuss the best and worst ads including many animal related ones which I thought wasn't as good as the rest of the crew. We make some comparisons to last years ads vs this year. Mike and I talk about how much reach some ads have had after the fact, in particular the Best Buy phone technology ad. Which encouraged people to go further after the fact to the brands site (Extended commercial and interviews here). The crew also tackles some past sports history , Ads from past years, The puppy bowl and the always interesting entertainment that always accompanies the middle of the game. We hope you enjoy listening and we would love to hear back from you. EftRou: 148 Clapfest Season… | The EftRoU crew returns this week with a new format and some entertainment news and thoughts regarding the Touch Preview event on Fox. Plus the Screen Actors Guild awards, the Pro Bowl for those sports fans listening and last but not least Oscar Nominations and Snubs. Sit back and enjoy as we bring you another great episode. Touch and Screen Actors Guild Awards FOX has brought Kiefer Sutherland back to the small screen on with the premiere of his new show titled Touch. This has been an interesting show to wait for as it puts Sutherland in a role that is literally and completely the opposite of his Jack Bauer character, from the famous 24 series. The show revolves around Martin Bohm (Sutherland) and his 11 year old son Jake Bohm, played by David Mazouz, who is autistic but sees the entire world differently and realizes how everyone and everything is connected. The series is created by Tim Kring of Heroes (2006) & Chicago Hope fame. The show definitely has me hooked but what about the rest of the crew? Next up was the Screen Screen Actors Guild awards that were on TBS. Q took some time to watch this years show and shares his thoughts with the crew of the highlights as well as his thoughts on the winners and losers. We also take some time to dive into the idea of "do we really need more award shows"? Mike and Q definitely take sides in the matter and I realize I haven't seen nearly as many movies in the last few months as I thought. The Oscar Nominations Again the debate rolls onto the nominations and snubs for this years (2012) Oscars. The crew really has some fun with this and making fun of me for not liking Cars 2 (2006) as well as making some bold statements about other animated films from PIXAR. We talk about some interesting thoughts on what now counts as a performance when an actor has been digitized. We don't make our predictions this week but sure start to get a feel for what might be a winner and losers based on whats happened this awards season. We hope you enjoy listening and we would love to hear back from you. Feel free to join the conversation on twitter via @entfortherest you can also find the crew on twitter: Q (@aka_q), Mike (@cb_robinson) and me SquareRoss (@SquareRoss). ExplicitEftRou 147: The Triple Threat…. | Greetings were back in action this week with another jam-packed episode of entertainment goodness! We start with some boobtube babble about J.J. Abrams' next tv adventure Alcatraz then switch to a double feature of red tails and Haywire. Kick back and enjoy this weeks episode! JJ's next big thing.... So shortly after Alias and LOST hit the airwaves, J.J. Abrams became a household name and Hollywood powerhouse almost overnight. In the last few years he has produced many shows and movies including FRINGE, Person of Interest (Golden Globe winner best new drama) and the 2009 reboot of the once thought dead Star Trek franchise and the fantastic Super 8 this last summer. This latest adventure has us diving into the lore of "Alcatraz" which puts a twist onto one America's most famous prisons. The idea is that Alcatraz never shut down but instead an event occurred that made all the prisoners and staff simply vanish. Fast forward to 2012 and now those same criminals and staff are starting to appear unannounced with no signs of aging or how or why they have come back. The crew chats about what they like and didn't like from the 2 hour premier event. Feature flicks: Red Tails & Haywire Q and I both decided to see different flicks this week. Q went with Red Tails, which is the story about the Tuskegee airmen. The story follows the famous fighter pilots' struggle to gain respect and equality from fellow Airmen of the time. The movie showcases how well he Tuskegee airmen did in protecting many valuable bombers during the war. The airmen also proved that they were the best of the best despite what many had said about them. The film stars Terrence Howard, Cuba Gooding Jr.,and David Oyelowo. I choose to go with the latest film from famed director Steven Soderbergh called haywire which has been touted by others as the female version of the Jason Bourne series. Instead this movie is much, much more than that it's a launching pad for MMA fighter Gina Carano's new found fame and potential career in Hollywood. The premise is surrounding a job that Gina's character does for her employer and the state department, covertly of course off the books. As with any thriller the typical betrayal and duplicity are present but not in the same formula as we have seen before. Soderbergh works his magic with flashbacks and scenes woven into the story that give you a sense of history with the various characters. This film has a stellar set of actors that make this even more fun to watch including: Ewan McGregor, Antonio Banderas, Michael Douglas, Channing Tatum and a great as always Michael Fassbender (who has a great bare knuckles fight with Carano). | 1/25/12 | Free | View In iTunes |

EftRou 146: In the desert… | This week the crew is back talking two action movies Killer Elite and Contraband. We had a lot of fun with these movies and make some interesting observations of both movies both good and bad. DVD Pick Killer Elite 2011 - We went back and picked up this movie that was released in fall but saved it for a DV-Debrief. This one stars Jason Statham, Clive Owen, Robert De Niro, Dominic Purcell and the lovely Yvonne Strahovski. This movie is based on a true story of a group of Britain's Elite Special Air Service members coming out of retirement to save De Niro's character, Hunter, from a Sheikh who wants revenge on a secret society that is responsible for killing his 3 sons. Listen in to see what we think as to the some questions that left us scratching our heads (At least Mike and Square). Feature Flick Our feature flick this week is Contraband, which stars Mark Wahlberg, Ben Foster, Lukas Haas, Kate Beckinsale and the always fun to watch Giovanni Ribisi. This movie centers around a blue-collar family that happen to be the best smugglers in the business. When Mark Wahlberg's character gets out of the business and try's to make a fresh start his wife's (Kate Beckinsale) brother keeps going with the smuggling and makes a mistake by dumping a "shipment" that was intended to be delivered to mobster Tim Briggs (Giovanni Ribisi). After making the decision to try to fix the problem himself Chris Farraday (Mark Wahlberg) gets his old crew together and the race begins to get $700,000 into the country in order to make things right before it's too late. We always hope you enjoy listening and we would love to hear back from you. Feel free to join the conversation on twitter via @entfortherest you can also find the crew on twitter: Q (@aka_q) and me SquareRoss (@SquareRoss) and Mike (@cb_robinson). EftRou 145: That girl with the tattoo | Sorry for the late in the week post folks, life has been busy for me. Wanted to get this one up before it became a lost EftRou episode. This ones a short one as it was just Q and I. This week we talk about the American adaptation of "The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo". I've seen all the original movies and Q just started off with the Trilogy with this one, it was an interesting discussion. We also talk about the results from the Fall 2011 Media Mogul Fantasy league and crown the winner (virtually of course). Feature Flick Many of you may have read or seen the original Swedish versions of the Millennium trilogy which became a critically acclaimed book and movie series around the globe. This typically means that a major US studio is sure to secure the rights and remake/reboot/redo it into an American franchise and ditch most of the source material. However this is not one of those times, in fact I was very surprised with how true to the original the movie stayed. Q although had never read or had been exposed to this prior to the US remake. Listen in and see if you agree with both our takes on this new franchise. The 2011 remake includes a pretty amazing cast which the title role of the Girl with the Dragon tattoo (Lisbeth Salander) being played by recent new star Rooney Mara The Social Network (2010) and the male lead of Daniel Craig whom plays discredited journalist Mikael Blomkvist. The film also stars Christopher Plummer, Joely Richardson, Stellan Skarsgård and Robin Wright. David Fincher whom helmed some amazing movies in recent years: Fight Club (1999), Se7en (1995), The Social Network (2010). Fincher takes this movie and runs with it but at the same time seems to have done so while staying true to the original novel and movie while putting a unique twist to the storyline that fans of both the book and movie will not expect. The soundtrack has been highly publicized recently as it's not your traditional score that you would find in similar movies. Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross create an amazing soundtrack and especially the during the opening sequence that definitely clues you in that the movie you're seeing is not your typical thriller/drama fair. Much like the TRON: Legacy soundtrack done by Daft Punk it's mostly electronic music but done by musicians normally never associated with movies scores. They both do a fine job with this film's score and helping drive parts of the movie through the music. Definitely a word of warning though for some movie goers. The movie has some very intense scenes that may not sit well for all viewers. Definitely keep this in mind when going to see this. ExplicitEftRou 144: 2011 Thoughts and 2012 Predictions | Another short one for all of you to enjoy. Tonight its just Q and myself (SquareRoss) as the rest of the crew is wrapping up the holidays. Q & I look back on 2011 topics that caught our eye and look forward and share what we think is going to be some highlights of 2012. Enjoy and as usual share your thoughts with us. 2011 Look Back So Q & I wanted to kick off 2012 aka Season 3 of EftRou by taking a look back at the highlights of 2011 and sharing with you a few things that stood out for us as interesting moments in entertainment and beyond. Q has some TV/Movie highlights as well as some thoughts about the Live special of American Chopper. I happened to go with my Geekier side talking some video games as well as sharing my thoughts on TV and the business of entertainment, including news that caught a lot of people guard this past year. 2012, To infinity and beyond! Next up Q and I attempt to prognosticate about what will be the big highlights of 2012, including that pesky end of the world rumor. Q thinks a certain comic book movie will be big. Square plans on seeing a trio of movies including the last Dark Knight Saga movie, A Ridley Scott film and the return to the Shire (Which Q is now on the bandwagon with). I managed to find 2 Movies that cause pause as the fact that Q hasn't heard of either of them. Q thinks he's found the stinker of the year remake movie. Lastly I stick with 1 returning favorite TV show, Fringe and another new one from the mastermind of J.J.Abrams & Company. We always hope you enjoy listening and we would love to hear back from you. EftRoU 143: Just add sugar… | Well the Christmas holiday is over, Q and SquareRoss along with the Moderator are back with a short episode full of spies and an impossible missions. Sit back and enjoy as this message will self destruct in 5 seconds (not really but we could pretend, right). Feature Flick Our feature flick this week sees the return of beloved action hero Ethan Hunt in the fourth installment of the Mission Impossible series which has been very successful over the last 10+ years. In this latest adventure we find ourselves along for the ride with Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise), Benji Dunn (Simon Pegg), Jane (Paula Patton) and IMF Chief Analyst, Brandt (Jeremy Renner) racing against the clock to stop a plan of starting a nuclear war with the US, put in to motion by Hendricks (Michael Nyqvist). The team also faces the challenge of having no help from the IMF division of the US Government after being blamed on the bombing of the Kremlin. The film takes us on a wild ride across the world in and out of some amazing scenes including possibly the craziest stunt to save the day that Ethan Hunt has ever done. Brad Bird does a great job with his first live action film after having done such great films as UP, The Incredibles and many other animated films and tv shows. J.J. Abbrams (Alias, Lost, Star Trek), Bryan Burk (Lost, Star Trek) return to produce the latest installment of the franchise along side Tom Cruise. After seeing this movie the EftRoU Crew cannot wait for another as this was well paced and had a fun story which has injected new life into this franchise. EftRou – 142: it’s a game of shadows… | This week the EftRou crew is partly back with Shady The Biker, Q and I in the studio. We start this one-off by talking a bit about some great Holiday movies both old and new, as usual the crew has some diverse picks. We also talk Holiday Movies we just can't get enough of. So we thought it would be good to get the crew to talk about the various films that make the holidays that much more magical and enjoyable with our families. Shady had some interesting picks one of which was a Christmas Story. I picked National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation. Q went the action movie route with Die Hard. We discuss a bit about each one as well as some others that we think you will enjoy. Let us know if we missed one or share with us what you think using the comment area below. Feature Flick This week's pick is Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows the follow-up to the 2009 hit Sherlock Holmes which you can listen to the review Q & Na gave it in a previous episode. Guy Ritchie returns to direct and all the cast from the first film returns. Both Sherlock (Robert Downey Jr) and Watson (Jude Law) have their work cut out for them. This time the villainous Moriarty (Jared Harris) finally makes his move against our two detectives. Joining them on this fun adventure is Watson's new wife Mary (Kelly Reilly) and rising star (Noomi Rapace) as Madam Simza, and not to be forgotten Sherlock's brother Mycroft Holmes (Stephen Fry). As usual we have some great thoughts about this movie, we also compared it heavily to the first film. We always hope you enjoy listening and we would love to hear back from you. ExplicitEftRou – 141: Insert Coin(s) | This week's episode is a bit different from normal as Mike and I take on the 2011 VGA awards. This years nominees included some amazing titles and strong contenders for some categories. Find out what Mike and I thought of each category as well as the upcoming games of 2012. This year more than ever was a year of some huge games including both Battlefield 3 and Modern Warfare 3 going head to head for gamers dollars and Gears of War 3 trying to hang in there. In addition the Multiplayer world grew even bigger. Listen in to find out what game ended up taking the Best Shooter of the year and Best Multiplayer award, the results may surprise you We cover many of the diverse categories sharing our thoughts, like if Best DLC, Best Human Male/Female are even worth having in a game. It’s an interesting discussion given we were actually seeing pixels on the screen vs real humans acting. Upcoming games for 2012 include: Hitman: Absolution, Mass Effect 3, The Last of Us, The Last Guardian, BioWare's first time taking on a RTS with Command & Conquer: Generals 2. We comment on the long-awaited Diablo 3, Epic's new game called Fortnight and Bioshock: Infinite. We always hope you enjoy listening and we would love to hear back from you. EftRou – 140: Doodie in the pool and don’t call me Shirley | This week the EftRou crew takes a trip to retro DVD land and reviews both Caddyshack & Airplane. However before the reviews begin the crew talks about the recent casting announcements surrounding Star Trek 2 and in addition talk about the newest John Carter of Mars trailer. Sit back and enjoy as the we bring you another great episode! Points of Interest: The first things we dive into is the latest news surrounding Star Trek 2 and the recent casting announcements of Benicio Del Toro (Snatch), Alice Eve (She's Out of My League) and Peter Weller (RoboCop) joining the returning cast of Star Trek (2009). Rumors have been flying about Benicio taking on the legendary role of Khan portrayed by Ricardo Montalban in an Original Series Episode of Star Trek titled "Space Seed" and then reprising the role in Star Trek 2: The Wrath of Khan. We talk about how JJ Abrams and crew should take this approach with such a great Sci-Fi Villain, if at all. The roles of Alice Eve and Peter Weller are still unknown but are said to be major roles in regards to the story. We also touch on the recently released 2nd trailer for John Carter of Mars. Retro DVD Reviews We begin the show talking about the comedy Airplane(1980) which chronicles an airplane crew as they take ill while airborne. Sadly the only person able to land the plane is also afraid to fly and happens to be an ex-pilot. The EftRou crew definitely has some strong opinions and thoughts regarding this classic movie starring: Robert Hays, Julie Hagerty, Leslie Nielsen, Peter Graves and Robert Stack. With an all star cast and some great one liners can this movie still stand the test of time? Next up was Caddyshack (1980) which is another classic comedy centering around the world of Golf, a posh Golf Course, an Adorable Groundhog, and all the fun that comes with it. This movie features an all-star cast featuring: Bill Murray, Rodney Dangerfield, Ted Knight and Chevy Chase. Again does this classic movie stand up to Shady's and Mike's expectations? In addition we talk about some interesting things of whether or not this might be one of Bill Murray's best roles ever? We always hope you enjoy listening and we would love to hear back from you. Feel free to join the conversation on twitter via @entfortherest you can also find the crew on twitter: Q (@aka_q), Shady the Biker (@ShadyTheBiker), Mike (@cb_robinson) and me, SquareRoss (@SquareRoss). EftRou – 139: cold cold ground…. | The gang is back this week minus Shady after the Holiday week. We start off with a few rumors regarding "The Dark Knight Rises" and check in with the "Media Mogul Fantasy" numbers that we picked previously. We figured its been a while since we had ourselves a Cartoon character showdown on EftRoU so this week along with that we have our thoughts on The Muppets which hit theaters last week. Cartoon Character Showdown: Our first topic tonight is "Captain Caveman" vs. "The Tasmanian Devil": Both Mike and I (SquareRoss) go head to head in the latest cartoon character showdown. Mike picked Captain Caveman and talks about why Captain Caveman is better than The Tasmanian Devil which is my pick this showdown. We debate and state our case for the best cartoon character, see who ultimately ends up coming out on top! Will it be the Caveman with the Babes or The tornado traveling Tasmanian Devil? Let us know who you think is the better character by leaving a comment below. Feature Flick: Our Movie this week is "The Muppets" returning to the big screen and our lives. This latest installment is the first Muppet outing since 1999's "Muppets from Space". The movie features a Trio of fans Gary (Jason Segel), Mary (Amy Adams) and the newest Muppet Walter (Voiced by Peter Linz) who travel to LA for a vacation but instead end up helping the Muppet's save their theater & studios that they used to call home from the Villainous Tex Richman (Chris Cooper) who has alternative plans. As with any of the previous Muppet movie's or TV show's the whole gang is back and funnier than ever. Be ready for some cameos from many top stars, not to be unexpected with a Muppet movie. This one definitely brought out an enlightening and interesting conversation as well as trips down memory lane for the whole cast of EftRoU. If you have some good memories or thoughts you have about seeing the return of the Muppets, leave us a comment or take the conversation to our Facebook Page an tell us your thoughts. We hope you enjoy listening and we would love to hear back from you. EftRoU 138: Scooter Boy… | In this episode the crew talks about 2 DVD's: Larry Crowne (Starring Tom Hanks & Juila Roberts) as well as the "epic vampire movie" The Lost Boys. Larry Crowne just came out a few months ago in theaters and we took the time to catch up with it after it just released on DVD. Larry Crown (Tom Hanks) is the central figure in this story of a man going back to college and at the same time reinventing himself after being laid off from his job a the U-Mart. Along the way he cross's paths with a colorful group of people as well as a "Scooter Gang". During his time he attends classes taught by Mercedes Tainot (Juila Roberts) & Dr. Matsutani (George Takei) who not only teach him academically but also teach him some interesting life lessons along the way with his new-found friends also attending his classes. Since we figured people needed a good Vampire flick to watch we figured we go back to 1987 and watch The Lost Boys. This movie we all agreed has aged well like a fine wine and definitely is worth watching again or like we talk about the first time as it was in my (SquareRoss) case. This film centers around a family that has relocated to California to make a fresh start after a divorce. No sooner does the family arrive when the older brother Michael (Jason Patric) get into trouble with a local biker gang who is led by David (Kiefer Sutherland) and just so happens to turn out to be a Vampire's! At the same time Michael's younger brother Sam (Corey Haim) makes friends Edgar Frog (Corey Feldman) & Alan Frog (Jamison Newlander) who are trying to save us all from the impending evil that is the Vampires in this small town. We really enjoyed re-visiting this classic film along with seeing the start to promising careers by this young cast including Kiefer Sutherland who would later go on to be in "24" and many other movies directed by Joel Schumacher who also directed this film. We hope you enjoy listening and we would love to hear back from you. Feel free to reach us on our Facebook page as well as follow us and join the conversation on twitter via @entfortherest you can also find the crew on twitter: Q (@aka_q), Shady the Biker (@ShadyTheBiker), Mike (@cb_robinson) and me, SquareRoss (@daniel_ross). EftRoU 137: It wasn’t gratuitous… | In this weeks show the crew and I talk about the Dr. Who reboot concept, Billy Crystal hosting the Oscars again, the DVD 300 and the this week's feature flick Immortals. DV-Debreif: The movie 300 hit the theaters in 2006 and it just may be on its way to being a classic. I'm not fully sure of that but others on the show may think so. 300 stars Gerard Butler, Lena Headey, Dominic West, David Wenham and Michael Fassbender. It's about King Leonidas and how he leads an elite group of 300 men to fight the Persians at Thermopylae. It's based on a graphic novel by Frank Miller. Listen in tell us what you think of this DVD, have you seen the extras? Is this a movie worth owning? Tell us why by leaving a comment below or head over to our Facebook page and leave a comment there. Feature Flick: We thought it would be fitting to discuss the movie Immortals since we watched the DVD 300. Immortals was produced by the same folks that brought you 300. I guess we thought we could compare the two movies and see which one we liked better. If you saw 300 and liked it you will also like Immortals. The look and feel are similar but the acting by Mickey Rourke in Immortals is phenomenal. This movie takes place in ancient Greece and is about a man chosen by Zeus to lead the fight against a ruthless King, who is on a terror to find a bow that can destroy all of humanity. Besides Mickey Rourke you will also find the stars Henry Cavill, Stephen Dorff, and Freida Pinto. We think you will enjoy this film, it is well worth the effort to go see in the theaters. Tell us what movie you liked better by leaving a comment. Thanks for stopping by we really do appreciate it. | 11/15/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

Feature Flick #1 First Shady and I discuss the latest Harold and Kumar movie. In this latest film Harold and Kumar get in to a lot of trouble. Tell us what you think by leaving a comment. Feature Flick #2 The second film we review and discuss this week is Tower Heist staring Ben Stiller, Eddie Murphy, Casey Affleck, Alan Alda, Matthew Broderick, Téa Leoni, Michael Peña, and Gabourey Sidibe. EftRoU 135: in time vs logan’s run… | So we had some technical difficulties the last couple of weeks. First we had a computer go bad and then we had an application crash on us. So this episode is out late. Thanks for being kind to us and coming back to listening in. For your listening pleasure we discuss the retro DVD Logan's Run and the feature flick In Time. Retro DV-Debrief : We thought it would be good to compare the retro DVD Logan's Run to this week's feature flick. Logan's Run is takes place in 2274 and every on can only live until the age of 30. Once you hit the ripe old age of 30 you terminated in a quasi-religious ceremony known as Carousel. There are some that avoid the ceremony and choose to run. Michael York, Jenny Agutter and Richard Jordan star in this movie. Let us know if you think this movie stands the test of time or let us know if you ever liked by leaving us a comment below. Feature Flick: As we mentioned before we wanted to compare our retro DVD to this week's Feature Flick, which is In Time. In a future people have been genetically engineered to not age past 25. AS soon as you reach the age of 25 you only get a year to live longer. Justin Timberlake plays Will Salas a man who has been gifted more years than he could ever earn and is now living a life he never had. We get to see how Salas lives his life with time to spend in an adventure he has never been on. Other fine performances in this film include Cillian Murphy, Amanda Seyfried, Johnny Galecki, Olivia Wilde and Matt Bomer. Let us know what you think of this film by leaving a comment below. We hope we have our technical issues figured out so come back later this week to hear another great episode from Entertainment for the Rest of Us. | 11/7/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

ExplicitEftRoU 132: silent shady… | It's that time again... on this week's episode we bring something a little different and new to the show, plus we review the feature flick The Ides of March. We touch on some hockey and a bit of controversy around DC's New 52. Points of Interest: Listen in as Mike describes the opening night of the Winnipeg Jets and what it was like to be there. We then address this post on Comic Alliance. We give a lot of credit to these folks for creating content that we just had to talk about. During this segment we mention two other websites that are a must read. One is the one Mike has written for called EatSleepGeek and the other is MajorSpoilers. Check-um out and let us know what you think by leaving a comment. Catchall: The new segment that I alluded to above is called EftRoU Media Mogul Fantasy League. We plan on having four seasons each year of the league and the point is to see who know more about media. Each of us will pick from movies, TV shows, video games and new DVDs. During this segment we kicked off with the first two rounds of the Media Mogul draft. In the first round Mike picked The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1, Shady's pick was Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows, Square Ross went with The Muppets, and I picked Battlefield 3. EftRoU 131: really meat… | It was a sad day for us here at Entertainment For the Rest of Us, Mike was home sick nursing a cold, but the troops carried on without him. On this episode of EftRoU the crew brings you another Cartoon Character Showdown between Leader 1 and Optimus Prime as well as a Feature Flick review of Dream House. We also give you an extra review of the movie 50/50. Cartoon Character Showdown: For those of you who are new to Cartoon Character Showdown here is how it's done: we choose two cartoon characters and debate which character is better. So Shady the Biker defended Optimus Prime and I defended Leader 1. As a reminder Optimus is the leader of the Transformers and Leader 1 is the leader of the GoBots. Who do you think won? Who should win? Listen in and see what happened. Better yet, tell us who you think should win by leaving a comment. Feature Flick: This week we review the movie Dream House staring Daniel Craig, Naomi Watts, and Rachel Weisz. Dream House is about a family that moves into an idyllic home. They soon learn of brutal crimes committed against former residents. Extra Review: I took some time to go see 50/50 this weekend as well. Since we had some extra time on the clock I shared my thoughts on this film. 50/50 is based on a real life story of Seth Rogen's friend who beat cancer. It's a comedy/drama centered around a 27-year-old guy who is diagnosed with cancer, and his fight to defeat the disease. It stars Joseph Gordon-Levitt as Adam, Seth Rogen as his best friend Kyle, Anna Kendrick as Adam's therapist and Bryce Dallas Howard as Adam's girlfriend. So sit back and enjoy this extra review. EftRoU 130: I don’t get it… | Okay this is becoming a habit now. Once again I am late posting this week's episode of Entertainment for the Rest of Us. Sorry folks, I'm just a regular guy and it seems that life is getting in the way of us getting our great thoughts out there about TV, Movies, and everything leisurely. Well I have complained enough, lets talk about the show. This week we review and discuss the DVD Bridesmaids and in theaters, as of this posting, Moneyball. No points of interest to share but we still have a good time. DV-Debief: For those fans of SNL, Kristen Wiig, Maya Rudolph and Melissa McCarthy (recent Emmy winner from the CBS TV hit Mike and Molly), we got the DVD for you to go rent; we discuss Bridesmaids. Bridesmaids is a comedy about Annie, played Kristen Wiig, who is picked to be her best friend's maid of honor, broke and not too happy about relationships she tries to fake her way through the pricy and odd rituals of getting married. Since we are a bunch of dudes we really didn't get this movie. So please tell us what we are missing by leaving a comment. Feature Flick: If you are looking for a good film to see with great dialog and storytelling then you need to go see Moneyball. The gents and I break this film down and discuss why it is so good. Moneyball is about Oakland A's general manager Billy Beane's attempt at building a baseball team on a budget by using science more than experience and gut feel. This movie stars the one and only Brad Pitt, Jonah Hill, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Chris Pratt and Robin Wright. Directed by Bennett Miller and based on the book "Moneyball: The Art of Winning an Unfair Game" written by Michael Lewis. Steven Zaillian and Aaron Sorkin wrote the screenplay for this wonderful film. I think it's a must see. If you've seen Moneyball, and you don't think it's a must see tell me why by leaving a comment. Or if you like it tell us why... Thanks again for stopping by and listening to the show. Be sure to tell your friends and family about us! Thanks, 'Q' | 9/28/11 | Free | View In iTunes |
