Podcast Description

Inspiring, spicy, fun, joyful and uplifting live and unplugged Anusara-inspired yoga classes taught by Pittsburgh yoga teacher Elsie Escobar. Classes range from strong beginners to advanced. They are 1hr or 1hr and 15 min. Depending on the level and length of the individual class they may include all or some of the following: a theme, meditation, pranayama, warm ups, sun salutations, standing poses, arm balances, hip openers, thigh stretches, backbends, forward bends, cool down poses and relaxation. Remember, the class is live and Elsie is teaching to what she sees. It's designed to include you into the class experience, to participate in deeper ways. This is not a "flow" or "power yoga" class. It includes power and flow, but more emphasis on alignment. You never know what's coming but it always proves to be a blast! Strap on your seatbelts and go for the ride! Exceptionally Unique Experience...

I've spent thousands of dollars on personal trainers, fitness CDs and DVDs, and fitness coaches all to have the results that Elsie's classes and podcasts have been able to give me in less than 3 months. First, she begins her classes with stories of inspiration, admiration, motivation, connection, compassion, and most of all her passion for yoga. Her mastery of Ansuara yoga is demonstrated through her voice, words, and an unique organization of a peaceful flow of sequences that makes it seems like you are effortlessly and naturally flowing through asanas. She is constantly reminding you to watch your flow of breath, as well as reminding you of important details to be aware of during your poses. To be able to have such a motivational yogini on your IPOD or accessible anytime is truly a blessing for anyone interested in the practice of yoga. To actually to able to attend one of her classes live, and be in presence of her beautiful energy, while she guides you through an hour and a half class is an exceptionally amazing experience that keeps you motivated to continue watching your inner and outer progress. Download all her podcasts as fast as your computer allows you to...you're missing out every day that goes by! :) Thank you Elsie for all your time, and effort! I'm looking forward to being back in class!

Fun and radiant yoga taught from the heart!

If you are entirely new to yoga, I would recommend taking a live class; there is no substitute for having a teacher there with you. But if you are familar with the basic asanas, want to develop a more personal practice, or are just really far away from a good yoga class (like me), Elsie's podcast is FABULOUS and I'm very grateful for it. Like all Anusara yoga classes I've attended, it begins with a few thoughts on a philosophical/psychological/spiritual issue, and these add depth to the practice that follows. Elsie herself is ebullient, funny and has this totally LA accent which makes me a little homesick. She clearly has a great rapport with her students. At times a complex pose may get confusing without a visual cue--what is obvious in the room may not be so to a listener--but Elsie is generally very precise. You'll discover muscles you didn't know you had, and I understand she is uploading some photos on her website which will help. For the most part it feels--amazingly--like you are in the room. It's a room filled with bouyant energy and focused intention, with a radiant heart right in the middle of it! Thanks Elsie.

I love this balanced Podcast

Elsie does a fine job of teaching someone like me who knows nothing about Yoga about the principles of Yoga. Hearing her positive tone and they way she motivates her students makes me want to take up Yoga and learn more about my body and mind connection. Nice audio quality with a keen sense of community.
