Podcast Description

Ethics Bites is a fascinating and absorbing series of interviews covering topics such as animal rights, euthanasia, censorship and fertility treatment. The interviews are introduced by David Edmonds, while Open University philosopher and best-selling author, Nigel Warburton, puts the questions, rooting every subject in everyday dilemmas about how we should live. Many eminent academics have participated in this fourteen-part series such as a star trio of American-based professors, Michael Sandel, Thomas Scanlon and Peter Singer.

Customer Reviews

excellent podcast

my only complaint is that they dont do more of these. I especially liked the Climate Change episode

Excellent Discussions

Edmonds and Warburton have done it again. Just like Philosphy Bites, Ethics Bites is a short discussion with a top philosopher of a current ethical and moral issue. This podcast should be required listening for any student of ethics or anyone living a life in our modern world.

Hard to believe these are free

These are some of the most compelling podcasts I've ever heard. Each one is like a 15-minute master class with an expert on the cutting edge of thought in the featured subject matter. The format is Q&A and Warburton's questions are as insightful and compelling as the answers, with Edmonds interjecting narrative footnotes during several of the podcasts as needed. Don't be fooled by some of the mundane titles. I yawned a bit when I saw "Climate Change" as a topic and then was blown away by the actual conversation. They move quickly past the obvious and into a more thoughtful, nuanced discussion and I for one found it refreshing to be intellectually challenged and provoked.
