Customer Reviews
Great website, poor podcast
I am a huge fan of the fangraphs blog, but this podcast is close to being unlistenable. Carson does not have the voice or demeanor to be an effective host. He does not have the improv skills necessary to facilitate a discussion. There is rarely a differing viewpoint since everyone is sabermetically driven.
Fangraphs=greatest
Fangraphs is without a doubt the best site for baseball statistical reference and analysis, miles ahead of the paltry offerings espn has to offer, and now that they've expanded to a podcast, even better
It's what you think it is.
If Carson Cistulli's linguistic detours are one of the big reasons you visit Fangraphs in the first place, you'll love this. If they aren't, the question will become whether you can tolerate him or not. Personally, I like Carson's style and find it adds a uniqueness to baseball discourse that isn't often seen, but it's totally understandable that some would be put off. This podcast is a natural extension of Cistulli and whoever his guest is, so if you're familiar with the writing of those involved, it's pretty easy to predict how the episodes shape up. A must for Cistulli fans, and recommended for those who don't find him irritating, as the guests will usually make the show worth it.
