Podcast Description

This is a program that defends the Christian Faith from attacks from both inside and outside of the visible Church. Think of this program as theology on roller blades. We name names as well as expose errors and heresies. We also try to have a little fun along the way. Topics include, apologetics, doctrine, and the Good News that Jesus Christ was God in Human Flesh and that He Died for the Sins of the World.

A Program of Truth

My missionary friend introduced me to this program after hearing about the goofy doctrines of Rob Bell. She recommended this program, where one day, show host Chris Rosebrough takes you through a recent program by Bell, and you get to hear to how Rob Bell continually twists scripture and deconstructs history to meet his "humpty-dumpty" theology. In this program, Rosebrough, from a Lutheran background, takes what people say in Christendom and compares it to the original source of Truth and the revelation of God through His Son, Jesus Christ, and conveying the message through His Holy Spirit, the Bible. Rosebrough's programs take a basic format, starting with an overview of the program, news briefs on what's going on in the world of Christians, a sub-plot of a recent news story and comparing that to the Word of God, and in the last piece, a "sermon review," where Rosebrough compares a good sermon, a bad one, or a hazy one to the Bible, and always tries to bring it back to the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Rosebrough intelligently analyzes to see if people's sermons and thoughts are right on with the Gospel. The Gospel is a simple and lovely message that we are supposed to preach and disciple with, as Jesus commanded in the Great Commission. Yet, with today's church being rife with heresy and goofy doctrines that are more man-centered, Fighting for the Faith is a program that is trying to make you really think Biblically rather than based on your own opinions. This program has helped me in my walk with the Lord, to examine it more closely, and be more aware that those who teach the Word are subjected to what it says, and not what they THINK of the Bible. God's Word is timeless and Jesus' words will never go away, and Rosebrough's program is a good way to amplify this message. I recommend this program to every Jesus-believing Christian who wants to grow in Truth and in Spirit. This is a good resource to help you think hard about your faith. Take that Joel Osteen!

Not Intellectually Honest

I tried listening to this podcast for a while. All I found was a guy who used the word "discernment" to mean "what I think." His application of scripture is purely subjective and his purpose in attacking others who would also say they are "discerning" is troubling. What is he adding to the conversation?

I understand the premise. Just as there are those in the faith who feel called to bring unbelievers into the fold, there are those, like Mr. Rosebrough, who feel called to expose the heretics inside the faith. No one can argue that he has committed to that calling. Spending three hours criticizing other pastors and preachers seems like a real waste of energy.

There are 300 denominations in the United States. 300, all of them with a slightly different interpretation of what it means to "discern" scripture. Presented here is one of them. Nothing more. There is nothing more laughable then a guy sitting behind a microphone talking for three hours about what he thinks is right and wrong.

Thank you fighting for the faith!

Rosebrough, day after day, holds to the radical and rebellious notion that Christianity should focus on Christ and him crucified for the forgiveness of sins. After listening to this program every day, I have come to realize how little gospel there is in a lot of churches in our day, many of which I have attended. Now I find myself preaching to myself the gospel every day. Thanks for the help fighting for the faith!
