Podcast Description

JOIN THE REVOLUTION From Triune Films and writer/director Ryan Connolly comes Film Riot, a hybrid of sketch comedy, tutorial, reality TV and a whole lot of nonsense, with the ultimate goal of teaching the art of independent filmmaking. Whether it's low budget effects or how to create a film from writing all the way to editing, no corner of filmmaking is left unexplored. The faces of Film Riot are: Ryan Connolly Tim Allen Josh Connolly Have you ever wanted to blow up a head, break an arm, or shoot some poor fool in the face without the annoying side effect of death or lawsuit? Then you've come to the right place. Film Riot is on a mission to come up with an inexpensive (and safe) solution for every effect thrown at them. And it's not just for the violent at heart. They will also be covering great effects like car crashes, light sabers, phasers, perspective, day for night, and many others. But great effects aren't enough, your film has to have great sound, visuals, and above all story. Film Riot covers the fundamentals of filmmaking by following Triune Films through the production of their latest short film "TELL". Film Riot will show what it takes to make a film from start to finish, and all the pitfalls that come with it. During production Ryan will also be jumping over to Full Sail University in Orlando Florida to get insight from their extremely knowledgeable instructors on everything from writing to directing, make-up, cinematography, editing, producing, casting, and more. To sum it up, Film Riot is filled with great information and wrapped in a delicious and easy to swallow coating.

This show rocks...

Probably my favorite Revision3 show right now...love it!!

Hilarious and a Little Informative

Focusing on cheap, down-and-dirty filming tricks for the none too faint of heart (seeing as most tricks are of the head exploding and arm ripping variety) in an extremely humorous format, Film Riot is easily one of my most anticipated podcasts each week. Even their sponsorship ads are great! Don't expect host Ryan Connolly to slow down his speech when explaining how he creates a shot. It'll take several re-watches if you are actually looking for the ins-and-outs of the effects they do...and you better already know your editing software. But I'd rather he sacrifice the technical than the comedy, any day. And if I ever do want to go back and try something they show, I'll just watch it in slo-mo or something. Ha! Great work!

Absolutely Amazing...

Honestly, this is one of the most professionally produced, entertaining, hilarious podcasts that I have ever watched. The tutorials and information is top quality, the skits are absolutely hilariously clever, and the production value is top notch. If you haven't checked this podcast out...stop what you are doing right now and watch it. Really really good.
