Must Listen. Always Original with Good Debate.
Both Jordan and Nathan discuss tell us, people, what capitalism truly is and offer good and honest debate. No sugar coating is done. The subjects might seem simple but they elaborate so good that you will find yourself either debating with them or shaking your head.
They should change the title of this podcast
After listening to the 1/6/11 podcast regarding health care, it is pretty clear that this podcast is done by two individuals who have little idea of what they are talking about. For example, the one arguing in favor of government provided health care does so on the basis that the U.S. Constitution guarantees the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Too bad that is a phrase from the Declaration of Independence. Besides overlooking that, anyone with a basic understanding of natural rights theory would realize the fallaciousness of the contention that a right to life implies guaranteed access to food, medical care, water, etc. He seems totally oblivious to the fact that this infringes on others' life and liberty, because someone has to produce these things and the method he proposes of bringing them to the poor is through pointing a gun at them and forcing them to do it. And I think silliest of all his statements was the idea that part of the function of government is to help the poor (disregarding bailouts, the Federal Reserve system, the composition of inmate populations, the negative effects on the poor of the welfare state, the military-industrial complex, or even the corporatist organization of the American medical care system). Perhaps even worse is the "defender" of the free market, who was not coherent in making arguments (he kept saying that people are going to die anyway and the government is just delaying the inevitable by providing them with medical care) and did not even make one on the basis that free markets constantly make products and services cheaper and better. This was not an intellectual debate, but one based on ignorance.
They also do a disservice to most free market anarchist philosophers by saying that the only law is the profit motive, when really it is about the non-aggression axiom. Perhaps these guys should give up the title of this show to someone who actually understands economics, philosophy, and perhaps even free market anarchism, as it seems they lack knowledge in all three.

Not recommended for the group of people who think that the government is their provider of sustenance, medical care, retirement, income, etc...
