delivers
Some of the reviewers obviously didn't understand the point of this podcast, though the word "extras" should have been a clue. Rather than complaining that a delicious side dish isn't an entree, enjoy these for what they are, well executed EXTRAS. THe Ponzi one was particularly good, the host is informative without getting in the way of the subject and all provide more details that make what are consistantly good episodes of Frontline even better.

If you're a Frontline junkie, this is a great way to get an extra fix. These NPR-style programs (I think the host has worked for NPR?) build on the Frontline shows to add an additional angle or connect the reporting to the current headlines. The new one on "Obama's War" is great. Martin Smith reveals some of the things the generals and officials told him off the record, which is pretty amazing to hear given what's going on in Pakistan at the moment. Keep 'em coming, Frontline!
behind the scenes
i love knowing about the serendipity of the journalistic process. in a time when everything is canned, its nice to hear Rath ask things about how somebody 'got' a story...its exciting. i like this sort of thing a lot.
