Every serious writer faces real challenges

In a world where anyone can self-publish, and everyone can be a critic, how do you even get started? What to do when you get stuck? If you aren't going to be the next J. K. Rowling, what's really fueling your inner storyteller? This is the podcast where they get serious about writing for the sake of writing!

Great discussions (even for a non-writer!)

I am not a writer, I have to say. My interests lie more in reading and listening to people talk. So when I hit upon The Deceptionists, I knew I was in for something good. This podcasts goes into the nitty gritty of what it means to be a writer, of anything, really. A round-robin discussion of plots, characters, story forms, among other things. And it helps that these guys and ladies have a good time talking about it. It shows their passion for writing and discussing what that means in an era where every idea was been beaten to death. Great job and you have me hooked for future podcasts!

It's good...

...but not great. That said, I like this podcast immensely. They talk about stuff and try and work through it, not to come up with solutions so much as helping you see a different path, and thats so much more worth while listening to than someone trying to wow you with there tricks. I think the best thing I can say is that promote doing more than theories and that everyone needs a little help to getting going sometimes. The Deceptionists always help me get going.
