An evening with John Johnsen - May 16,2009 | This is one intriguing piece of documentary filmmaking. John Johnsen (Grendel Films) is a veteran producer/director/cinematographer/videographer of nature films and has taken viewers who generally don't know his name on many excursions into the back country to see the lives and behavior of bears, cougars, elk, and all manner of woodland creatures; all of the recognized, scientifically named and cataloged, academically-approved-of types of fauna. Now, officially in retirement, though, Johnsen has begun stepping out of the "factual parameters" set by scientific orthodoxy and headed off in the "Monsterquest" direction. Collaborating initially with Marlon (M.K.) Davis, the photo analyst who has done so much on the 1967 Patterson-Gimlin Bluff Creek bigfoot film footage, he launched Grendel Films with a documentary short on Davis and his bigfoot work. Then he met a writer-woodsman-Fortean researcher from western Kentucky named Bart Nunnelly and documentary project number two was soon up and going. This time the subject was NOT something anthropologically debatable, but, rather, something just plain WEIRD. Yet this something weird came as anecdotal accounts of strange encounters across parts of the U.S. by average Americans, common folk, who avow doggedly to have seen things that are just NOT supposed to be. We are essentially talking what seem like "were-creatures" here, and entering the realm of Linda Godfrey's books "The Beast of Bray Road" and "Hunting the American Werewolf". Fortean strangeness. A Night with Stanton Friedman - Dec 13,2008 | Nuclear Physicist-Lecturer Stanton T. Friedman grew up in Linden, NJ, spent 2 years at Rutgers University, and then received his BSc.and MSc. Degrees in physics from the University of Chicago in 1955 and 1956. He was employed for 14 years as a nuclear physicist by such companies as GE,GM, Westinghouse, TRW Systems, Aerojet General Nucleonics, and McDonnell-Douglas working in such highly advanced, classified, eventually cancelled programs as nuclear aircraft, fission and fusion rockets, and various compact nuclear power-plants for space applications. He became interested in UFOs in 1958 and since 1967 has lectured about them at more than 600 colleges and 100 professional groups in 50 states, 9 provinces and 16 other countries in addition to various consulting efforts.. A Night with Terri Williams - Nov 22,2008 | My name is Terri Williams. I am a Mother, a wife, and also an Author to a new book called...A Haunting Among Friends. But I am no stranger to paranormal phenomenon. I had my first spirit encounter at the tender age of 5. Of course, at such a young age, I was TERRIFIED, but as I grew older and continued to have experiences, such as, hearing voices, hearing unknown footsteps, I would learn that in the world of paranormal phenomenon there were far bigger things that I would experience. I would get that chance at the age of 12. It was the summer of 1987 that I would meet the person that would change my life and my concept of paranormal activity altogether. The person I'm speaking of is my best friend, Nicholas. He introduced myself and 2 of my cousins to a far scarier place than we had ever been exposed to. Nicholas lived in a real haunted house, where I would personally experience, evil laughter, knocking on windows that are 7 feet off of the ground, shadows, pictures spinning on the walls that they were hanging on, but to look behind them, they weren't hanging on anything, just spinning in mid air. Apparitions would appear also, but I'm glad I wasn't around to see them. These encounters caused the birth of my book, and it also encouraged us to form our own ghost hunting group in North Alabama. We don't do this for any scientific reasons, we do it for our own enjoyment, it's a great stress reliever, believe it or not. I am 32 years old now, and I still have experiences, but nothing like the ones I've just described. I do live in an old plantation house, so I know that I have at least 7 spirits living here as well. The Sallie House haunting is in a class by itself. There have been full-bodied apparitions and objects flying through the air. Items have moved, been misplaced or lost only to reappear or show up later or at another location. Phantom furniture has been heard along with thumps, thuds, knocks, scratching and the sound of animals and human voices. Although some voices have been heard with the naked ear, there have been an amazing amount of EVP (Electronic Voice Phenomena) captured, further depicting the voices of men, women and children. Many have experienced extreme smells. Lastly, and most famously, there has been physical harm to the occupants and investigators in the form of scratches, burns and cuts. Although the majority of these attacks have often been centered on Tony Pickman, there have been a few others who have also been the focus of the physical harassment.After Debra and Tony Pickman lived through extraordinary experiences at, what is now known as the Sallie House, they have furthered their understanding of the activity they witnessed through multiple investigation back into the house as well as other locations. They now have a family to include three boys and still live in Atchison Kansas less than a mile from the house which wreck do much havoc into their lives.
