Excellant Overview of Guitar Music Theory!
This Podcast is a MUST listen to anyone who plays the guitar. Desi expertly covers why music theory for the guitar is important for the growing guitarist to learn. He points out the various elements of music theory such as scales, chords, progressions, intervals, etc. and then details what they are, how they build on each other, and in which order the guitarist should learn them. He uses his acoustic guitar throughout in order to drive home the points he is making... musically. The details Desi reveals in this brief Podcast will give the listener an excellant start on that wonderful journey of discovery called "music theory for guitar"!
Guitar Theory for the Rest of Us
I fired these podcasts up and was happily surprised by the depth of knowledge Mr. Serna has about the subject of Guitar Theory. Importantly - his is able to communicate that information in an easy style and and interesting style. Before you know it you are actually learning about Guitar Theory. He is selling books and DVD's but he doesn't hit you over the head with it and doesn't withhold information telling you to 'go buy his DVD.' These podcasts are worth your time.
Right to the point & very musical
Very happy to find this podcast; right to the point, clean & clear, very good and illustrative guitar samples, only important info, no messing around etc. It's much more efficient and nice to listen to someone who really knows, than to read it from any booklet or internet tutorial. Sometimes I wonder why there is always something so much better than anything else. *****
Thank you.
PS: Playing for 30 years without serious theory base. Well, here it is.
