Incredible! A must have for literature fans

Wonderful writing and spot on delivery by the reader brings you into the story of Ishmael as he finds his place in the world and comes to grips with what it really means to live on a ship that never stays in port for more than a week. By the time you have devoured all fourteen episodes you will feel like you are a part of the family that Ishmael has found in the crew of the Lois. This novel is most definitely worth your time. This is the first audio book in the last five years I have listened to more than once.

Why did this suddenly get so cheesy?

I really enjoyed the first book. The writing is good, well narrated and there is a simplicity or “straight forwardness” about the plot that I really responded to. I also like Nathan’s description of life on a Solar Clipper. Then in the middle of Half Share this perfectly enjoyable story turns into some supper cheesy romance. It’s really bad…. I mean out of the fantasy of a slightly homosexual adolescent bad. There were situations and dialog in this book that had me rolling my eyes so bad that I probably looked like I was having a seizure. In all fairness I did enjoy Quarter Share enough to look past the last half of Half Share move on to Full Share. I just hope there are no more “relationships” in stored.

Not as good as the first...

A decent story, but after the first book it devolved into an adolesent fanatasy. Pretty much everything but the "relationships" was enjoyable, but the ridiculous romance was just plain bad.
