What are the consequences for society as computers and communications dominate what we do and how we do it? Bits, a Harvard University computer science course, addresses this question. Taught by Harry R. Lewis, PhD, Harvard College Professor and Gordon McKay Professor of Computer Science, Harvard University and Hal Abelson, PhD, Class of 1922 Professor of Computer Science and Engineering, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, the course is offered online this spring as CSCI E-2 by the Harvard Extension School's Distance Education Program. An excellent class...
I am an actual distance student that pays to "attend" this class. I must say, Dr. Lewis does an exceptional job. He also brings in great guest lecturers -- *true* experts in their respective specialities. This is my first class at Harvard. I sincerely hope that the rest of the classes I take for my ALM are this good.
superb!
Dr. Lewis does an outstanding in communicating abstract concepts. He uses real-world analogies that allow the listener to visualize the concepts. I wish all my teachers were this good.
Bits
Very interesting. The professor explains data and information very clearly, making it very easy to understand. This podcast makes me want to join the distance learning class!
