For those on top of whom they're built, highways are literal barriers that physically disconnect entire neighborhoods from essential services and surrounding communities. In this episode, we ride along with a long-haul commuter who drives from Chanhassen to St. Paul five days a week. Back in the studio, we talk with a resident of the Rondo neighborhood, St. Paul's largest African-American community that was displaced by Interstate 94 construction.
