Hi all, Sorry for the wait on this one. I was respectfully awaiting approval from the Bellies. I just got word from their US management, and so here it is! Paul Noonan and David Geraghty of Bell X1 were very kind in stopping by the campus of Guilford College in Greensboro North Carolina on their way from Raleigh NC to Atlanta GA (I think) to chat with Paddy-Whacked Radioâ„¢ on WQFS in Greensboro. I hope you enjoy this! Please know that the fidelity of the recording is limited to studio equipment (it’s college radio, eh?). Also, please forgive the squeaky door during the final live song. Someone decided it was a good idea to walk in and out of the studio at that particular time. (grumble grumble). Thanks, Shawn | 6/3/08 | Free | View In iTunes |

Episode 8: Live from Paddy-Whacked Radio Boston | Episode 8: Live from Paddy-Whacked Radi Boston!! Ise, Fred, Jenna Nicholls, Kiernan McMullan, Stephen Hill, Paddy Saul and Damien Leibert, The Burning Shades, and a spotlight on The Waterboys! One of the great joys of my radio show was the stream of live musicians who came through and played. The show is over, at least as it existed on WMFO, but I thought it would be fun to put some of the live performances into a podcast. And here it is. My final show on WMFO featured a visit from the legendary band, The Waterboys!! In this episode, among other things, you’ll hear all three songs that they played live, as well as a segment of the interview with singer Mike Scott. Don’t forget to visit http://myspace.com/pwradio . if you are a myspace member, become a friend and subscribe to the blog to keep current on the show and the podcast. If you’re not, you can still look through and find links to many Irish Indie artists and music resources. I plan on bringing the FM radio show back to life in January, after my family and I are settled in our new home in North Carolina. With luck the station I hope to get a spot at may be on line by then. If you’re interested, you’ll be able to follow the progress on this this through the Myspace blog. Thanks again for listening! Episode 6: The “Monsters” of Irish Indie Rock! (Rock, rock, rock…) | Hey all, thanks for stopping by! Episode 6 of Paddy-Whacked Radioâ„¢ Podcast is now out for your listening pleasure. This one is titled “The Monsters or Irish Indie Rock (roar)!”, and focuses on some better known acts. It also contains an interview with Irish Indie music “Led-jond Head” (thanks Danni), Mundy! Oh, and as a side note: All that bigness and effect laden voice, animal noises and all that… I don’t take it seriously! Really, it’s all a big poke. One more item of interest: Loads happening in mine and my family’s life. Loads of good things. The only problem is that I have almost no time to work on podcasts or radio shows. Please bare with me. Hopefully when everything is settled down, I’ll begin getting this thing out at least monthly again. It may, however, be up to 6 months before the next podcast comes out. It may be sooner. Subscribing to my Myspace blog would be the best way to keep tabs on this. Ok, now down to the meat and spuds. In this episode you’ll hear: Lisa Hannigan with the amazing rendition of the Mary Janes Queen of Hearts, sung in Irish Gaelic. BanrÃon mo Chroà appears on the Ceol ’06 CD, proceeds of which go to the charity Project Concern. The Frames with Perfect Opening Line off of their some-day-to-be classic studio recording, Dance the Devil. KÃla with The Four Ages of Man off their 1991 release, Handle’s Fantasy. Bell X1 with Still Selling Shoes, a B Side from the Bigger than Me single. Interference with the song Gold off of the Live in Dingle, Songs From a Room disc. Mundy with a clip from the song Drive, off of the CD 24 Star Hotel, an interview and Gin and Tonic Sky from the live CD, Live & Confusion. The Mary Janes with something that’s going to sound familiar, if you’re paying attention. Ok, remember to please keep in touch! You can use http://myspace.com/pwradio , or shawn@pwradio.net. Keep well and keep your ears open! Keep your eyes on the blog, and I’ll keep you posted. All the best, Shawn | 5/28/07 | Free | View In iTunes |

CleanEpisode 2: The Best of 2006! | The Frames, The Red Rose Cafe, The Vals, Brendan O’Shea, Stephen Hill, Mic Christopher, and the results of your host finding the sound effects on his Christmas copy of Garage band! Oh what a dark place that is. With the amount of great music I received to Play on Paddy-Whacked Radio Boston, it is impossible to nail down “The Best” of 2006 in only 6 songs. I can, however, bring you a small sample of some of my favorites. And then do it again on a later podcast. Don’t forget to check out the radio show when you have a chance. It is archived for 1 full week. All details available at http://pwradio.net or http://myspace.com/pwradio. Here you will also find information on a whole whack of Irish indie artist. (note: The default download is a basic MP3. If you’d like to download the enhanced podcast, please go to http://pwradio.net and click ‘Downloads”. For some reason iTunes won’t support my enhanced files, so until I can make that work, I’ll be posting MP3s here. Thanks!) | 1/26/07 | Free | View In iTunes |

A Great Collection
Being a Damien Rice fan, I found this podcast through his music. This is a great introduction to the amazing music that is going on in Ireland. I recommend it to anyone looking for some new artists!
An Irish treasure
I am a huge fan of All Things Irish (TM) and was pleased to locate this podcast in my search for more Irish exposure. Paddy-Whacked Radio (the podcast and the broadcasts - see pwradio.net for more delicious Irish goodies!) features the music of all the best Irish artists you're NEVER heard. Independent Irish artists get a lot of exposure due to this wonderful podcast, and I count it among one of my greatest finds, proving the old adage about the best things in life being free.
