I have three criticisms of these podcasts. First, though SOH claims that their "programming is underpinned with a search for the objective truth," they seem to operate as a node of Western propaganda. The Mesopotamia podcast tidied up with commentary regarding contemporary Iraq. The commentary was irrelevant as well as irresponsible considering SOH's target audience. Secondly, while ostensibly a series of History programs, the host seems to simply read aloud from a cursory selection of sources in the "Indian" podcasts. The host is at least responsible enough to admit that her sources are contentious. Finally, the editing in of contemporary - "new age" for lack of a better term - music in to the "Indian" podcasts accounts for a significant portion of the program time - i.e. filler. It dilutes the substance of the programs, renders them less comprehensible, & does not correspond to nor complement the period or disparate tribes being presented. I would expect the producers to procure more authentic and specific music.

Great Tales of Wisdom and Morality, Mostly from China

Most of these tales originated in ancient China. Although they are a bit frightening, in an Aesop's Fables sort of way, they are beautiful, well spoken and calming. My six year old loves to listen to them. Some of these tales and their moral teachings have stuck with my son for quite a long time. This is a very nice blend of beauty, consequence and moral teaching that, I feel, we are losing in this world of ease and convenience.

Love this podcast!!!!

Both of my boys ask to listen to these stories every am in the car.(they are 9 & 10). Nice stories, sometimes they are a little over my boys heads but we talk about them so they understand what they heard. Always has a good mesage/moral in the stories.
