A State of Flux: Changing the Procurement Landscape - May 24,2012 | State of Flux, a leading procurement and supply chain consultancy, has been included on Gartner’s list of Cool Vendors in Finance and Procurement 2012. As I read the above headline a number of thoughts immediately came to mind. To start I was interested in learning more about the vendor whose name signifies its transitional impact on the way that organizations manage their critical supplier relationships. Perhaps this is one of the sole remaining benefits of a Gartner endorsement in that it at least creates a degree of presence for vendors that they might otherwise not have known. On the other side, and as highlighted in my January 7th, 2011 post "Madison Avenue ooops . . . make that Gartner, names Oracle as a leader in supply chain planning," an endorsement by Gartner may do more harm than good . . . at least this is what the majority of readers think. Regardless, State of Flux is a company that is worthy of a deeper look, and that is just what we are going to providing today as I welcome to the show the companys Chairman Alan Day. | 5/24/12 | Free | View In iTunes |

Love Bites RAW with Rhonda Ricardo & Jon Hansen (May 20th) - May 21,2012 | Men, do you have Antonio Banderas eyes? Can you with one simple glance captivate your partner so that she melts into your arms like a lady from the cover of a Harlequin Romance novel? In this weeks unedited segment of Love Bites, Rhonda takes us into the world of the spicy boudoir with tips on how to put the zing in your romantic lemonade! Yeah I know, zing in lemonade doesn’t make much sense to me either but I am a guy who goes to bed at night in one piece Superman PJs with a trap door on the bottom . . . HELP ME RHONDA! Anyway, and based on the overwhelming response to our RAW unedited version that aired last week, this week you will once again have full access to the pre-show banter that goes on before we go live . . . Here is the question of the week: Is romance better with the lights on? By the way, here is the link to Rhonda’s book Cherries Over Quicksand | 5/20/12 | Free | View In iTunes |

Cold A Long Time: The Tragic Death of Duncan MacPherson - May 18,2012 | May 10, 2012: Duncan MacPherson was a pro hockey player—a first-round-draft pick of the New York Islanders. In the summer of 1989, while touring Europe, he vanished without a trace. For his parents, Lynda and Bob, nothing about his disappearance made sense, and so they embarked on what became a 22-year journey to discover what had happened to their son. In 2009 they asked author John Leake to help them with their ongoing search for answers. His recently-published book on the case, Cold a Long Time: An Alpine Mystery reveals the shocking truth of Duncans death at a popular ski resort in Austria, and how the cause and manner of his death were concealed by resort personnel and by high-ranking officials in Innsbruck. In and of itself the above overview of John Leake’s new book “Cold A Long Time: An Alpine Mystery” is compelling enough to make you want to read the book in a single sitting. However, and much like the author, what strikes me most about Duncan MacPherson was not so much his tragic death – which of course is the basis for this story but, his life. Ultimately it is Duncan’s vibrancy of living that shines the brightest out of the darkness that is the sadness of a life that ended far too soon. Yet . . . there is a melancholic undercurrent to this story that like the secrecy surrounding Duncan MacPherson’s death cannot be overlooked . . . Joining me on this segment of Off The Cuff is the author of the book John Leake. NOTE: This is a live broadcast of a pre-recorded interview with John Leake that will be re-aired in June. Say goodbye to these ten familiar brands in 2012? - May 13,2012 | Back in late December I talked about the medias propensity to dawn a prognosticative hat in an effort to predict what the year ahead holds in store for us. From a business standpoint this exercise includes 24/7 Wall Street’s prediction of which familiar brands will bite the proverbial bullet in 2012. Now that we are approaching the half-way point in 2012, how have these ersatz experts fared relative to who is actually gone and who is still with us. Joining me to talk about these as well as other brand predictions is the incomparable Dr. John Tantillo. | 5/12/12 | Free | View In iTunes |

A Year of Success: Debunking The Success Secrets - May 10,2012 | Like magicians showing you how they do things behind the curtain, Sally Hogshead, Larry Winget, Bob Burg and Mark Sanborns A Year of Success is revolutionary in that it places responsibility for your success squarely where it belongs . . . on your shoulders. That’s right! There is no secret formula for success! In fact when I had the opportunity to interview Bob Burg a couple of years ago one of many interesting revelations he provided centered on the fact that his insights are based on principles that are not new in that they have been handed down from one generation to the next. So what does this mean in terms of your role and responsibility for achieving your goals in life? In today’s program I welcome three of the four creators of a program that by its very simplicity will change both perspectives and lives. | 5/10/12 | Free | View In iTunes |

The Truth Behind The Student Loan Crisis - May 08,2012 | Back in the day, a university degree was a privilege that very few had the opportunity to pursue. In fact education in general was often times viewed as being of secondary importance to an able bodied young adult’s obligations to contribute to the family’s financial well-being. While it is only reasonable to want to pursue a higher station in terms of career through a college degree, the question is whether or not the right to an education is taking a back seat to the practical merits of a post secondary education. Joining me to talk about this controversial subject, as well as the purported gender gap relating to college computing courses and industry acceptance of women who pursue a career in computer sciences is eCampus News Assistant Editor Denny Carter. Love Bites with Rhonda Ricardo (April 22nd, 2012) - Apr 23,2012 | Do you remember the Seinfeld episode in which hapless George Costanza took the bold first step to say I Love You to someone he was dating . . . do you remember what happened? Kramers battle of wits with the monkey notwithstanding, what stood out was the fact that there was no return "I Love You" forthcoming from the source of his affection. Oh no . . . what do you do when you say I Love You and all you receive is either a oh thats nice comment or worse . . . Well I am happy to say that Rhonda Ricardo knows the answer and what you have to do to prepare to serve the BIG Love volley. Electroboy: The Andy Behrman Story (Part 2) - Apr 22,2012 | Andy Behrman will be joining me on Off The Cuff this upcoming Saturday evening at 8:00 PM EST on the Blog Talk Radio Network for part 2 of our one-on-one interview. What is most interesting, and perhaps surprising to some, is the fact that real-life dramas such as these are played out on a smaller scale every day and are no less traumatic to those living with Bipolar Disorder, and those who love and care about and for them. The effect of the illness on those who care for someone with Bipolar Disorder is one that we will be discussing at great length in this upcoming segment, especially as it relates to the failure of Andy’s marriage, and the impact on his two daughters. The real question or questions to which the above leads is to what degree can an adjustment from what is without a doubt a whirlwind life adventure to one of relative normalcy be achieved and maintained, as even Behrman himself called his recovery through electroshock therapy “temporary.” | 4/21/12 | Free | View In iTunes |

Electroboy: The Andy Behrman Story - Apr 15,2012 | Bipolar disorder is about buying a dozen bottles of Heinz ketchup and all eight bottles of Windex in stock at the Food Emporium on Broadway at 4:00 a.m., flying from Zurich to the Bahamas and back to Zurich in three days to balance the hot and cold weather (my sweet and sour theory of bipolar disorder), carrying $20,000 in $100 bills in your shoes into the country on your way back from Tokyo, and picking out the person sitting six seats away at the bar to have sex with only because he or she happens to be sitting there. As I read the above excerpt from Andy Behrmans tantalizing book Electroboy: A Memoir of Mania, I was immediately reminded of another similarly thrilling story . . . Frank Abagnale Jrs Catch Me If You Can book. And like Abagnal, there is talk that Berhmans book is also in line to become a major motion picture. Joining me to talk about his incredible journey and how it led him to where he is today is none other than Andy Berhman. | 4/14/12 | Free | View In iTunes |

ISM nabs ADR tipping the scales of change in their favor - Mar 29,2012 | What is ironic about the ISM acquisition of ADR is that back in the Spring of 2009 I had assembled a guest panel that included David Clevenger from Corporate United, Charles Dominick of Next Level Purchasing, Cindy Allen-Murphy from Buyers Meeting Point and Tim McCarthy from IACCM to discuss the topic "Is The Traditional Association Model Dead?" By the way, here are the links to both Part 1 and Part 2 of the series. While we invariably covered a great deal of ground ISM did come up during the conversation several times, particularly has it related to their then educational offering and whether or not it was keeping pace with the demands of a dramatically changing global marketplace. Fast forward to 2012, and one of the most immediate reactions to the ADR acquisition, relative to both the panel discussion and corresponding comment(s), is that someone at ISM was obviously listening if not to the show itself, at least to the winds of change that have encompassed the industry for the past few years. The fact that with the introduction of their own newly launched curriculum and their 25th Anniversary "call to action," means that ISM not only sought needed change, they sought one of the harbingers of it. | 3/29/12 | Free | View In iTunes |

Relational Outsourcing: Contracting Will Never Be The Same! - Mar 26,2012 | When I was asked to review a new seminar on outsourcing contracting I have to admit that the “been there – done that” sentiment almost immediately came to mind. It is not that I am naturally cynical it is just that so many seminars relating to the contracting process seem to advocate a dot the “I’s” and cross the “T’s” adversarial approach that does little if anything to ensure a successful outcome. And when I use the term outcome I am not talking about the actual award of a contract to a selected vendor but, the actual structure of the contract itself in the critical area of a full and true disclosure of capabilities and how the parties will work together to achieve a mutually satisfactory outcome. It is upon this latter point that todays program is focused as I welcome to the PI Window SRS Andy Akrouche to talk about his firms new Relational Outsourcing Course. | 3/26/12 | Free | View In iTunes |

The Power Within: Are antipsychotic drugs now obsolete? - Mar 17,2012 | “In 1976 I discovered, quite by accident, an amazing idea! One that has led to the development of an extremely effective tool to elevate positive emotion and mood and permanently change behavior. Behaviors like unwanted habits, compulsions and even addictions. A technique so powerful, that with practice, a person can get from a normal mood, or even a depression, to feelings of joy and elation within minutes! An idea, which has led to the creation of a fast, easy and fun daily motivational routine of immense power!” From Neal Engelking’s book Accelerated-State Conditioning: A 5-Minute Daily Motivational Routine Designed to Elevate Mood and Permanently Change Behavior Having covered the pharmaceutical industry extensively over the past few years, reports such as the one which indicated that in 2006 antipsychotic drug prescriptions at almost $7 billion represented the single largest expenditure processed through Medicaid makes one wonder if we have become for lack of a better word lazy or perhaps mentally unfit to meet the normal rigors of everyday living. Stories of Origin: The Truths Behind Colorful Fiction? - Mar 03,2012 | My partner Jennifer recently shared an e-mail with me that I must admit I am uncertain as to whether they are historical fact or colorful (and entertaining) fiction. The above paragraph is how I opened my July 3rd PI Window on Business Blog post, and I have to tell you that I would have never expected the level of reader response I received in a million years. Less than a month after the article appeared it has been read/downloaded 11,628 times and still going strong (as of today the number of downloads has reached just under 50,000). As a writer of course, I am always delighted when I write an article or a book that engages, informs and yes even entertains. While I always try to accomplish this with every post, gauging audience response is a near impossible task. This is why it is important to write about subject matter in which you have the greatest level of passion and expertise versus writing about that which you think is going to be popular. As a radio show host however, when I saw the continuing interest in this topic I knew that I had to take action. As a result, I am pleased to welcome to todays PI Window on Business Show the author of "Shaggy Dogs and Black Sheep (The Origins of Even More Phrases We Use Everyday)" Albert Jack. In what promises to be an interesting, entertaining and perhaps humorous 60 minutes, Jack will share his passion for and research of "the expressions that litter the English language." Cloud-Based Spend Analytics: The Exeter University Story - Feb 29,2012 | In 2010, the University of Exeter set out an ambitious three-year strategy to deliver £10 million in savings. The university’s procurement organization, led by John Malloch, Head of Procurement, sought to contribute more than £1 million through improved spend visibility and analytics. John Malloch recognized early on that in order for his procurement organization to deliver quick and sustainable savings, he would need to upgrade the university’s spend analysis capabilities. Poor Health: How Quebec's System Is Failing Its Citizens - Feb 25,2012 | When asked to gauge the performance of health care since the 2004 Accord was signed, in terms of whether the health system and the health services available to them and their family have improved, stayed the same, or worsened, nearly half (47%) say that it has stayed the same, followed by 36 percent who say that it has gotten worse. Relatively few (15%) say that it has improved. Mirroring this trend relative to our growing national discontentment with the quality of our healthcare system, 43% of those in Quebec feel that the services they receive have actually gotten worse, which is second only to BC where 51% have lamented the decline in that provinces services. All this being said it is the first hand personal accounts that render the most telling stories of a system gone awry. From the doctor who instead of treating his patient talked her into investing in his Medicus investment group, to an evasive hospital staff whose primary focus is on avoiding law suits as opposed to offering quality patient care, one can only wonder if Canadas healthcare system as we knew it is a thing of the past. For those in Quebec, the problems are further exacerbated by the fact that more than two million are without a family physician, a number that has only grown since the mid-1990s. Against this backdrop of increasing frustration and disillusionment, I will this evening be welcoming to the show healthcare expert and author of the book Navigating The Healthcare Maze Jeff Knott, who will discuss our rights as patients and what we need to do to gain at least some measure of control relative to the care we receive. Heidi Damon: Don't Use The "V" Word Unless It's For Victory! - Feb 18,2012 | The victim of a brutal sexual assault confronted her attacker in court and told him: I am not the victim, Im the victor. With that one statement 41 year old Heidi Damon claimed her life as her own, and in the process transcended the traumatic events of August 2009, in which then 16 year old Javon Cooper attempted to rape and kill her. While Cooper, now 18, was recently given a 15 year sentence, Damon has gained both national and international attention for the courage of her convictions in terms of staring down both the perpetrator as well as the normal inclination to become victim. Even though she is not unscathed she is undaunted, and in her emerging role of a victors advocate, Damons message is clear . . . no one can take from you what you are unwilling to surrender. Off The Cuff: An Intimate Conversation w/Dr. Susan Biali MD - Feb 05,2012 | Are there people in your life that you try so hard to get along with, but you somehow always leave the interaction feeling disheartened, sad, angry, or demeaned? Are there people you dread running into or spending time with because theres just something about them that strips you of your power, either provoking you into acting "crazy" (when you normally are quite a sane, nice-to-be-around person) or somehow always managing to make you give up something thats important to your well-being? BTW! The New Drug War - Feb 04,2012 | AstraZeneca $520 Million Settlement Underlines the Greed Over Good Mentality Within the Pharmaceutical Industry (PI Window on Business Blog - May 2, 2010) Antipsychotic Drug Misuse Lands Johnson & Johnson on the Wrong End of Federal Suit (PI Window on Business Blog - Mar 25, 2010) Antipsychotic Prescriptions . . . for Children: Is the Medicaid Story Today’s Version of Go Ask Alice? (PI Window on Business Blog - Dec 13, 2009) While the questions are too numerous and diverse to ask (although I will try), my research for this Panel Discussion re the controversy surrounding anti-psychotic drugs with Jeff Knott and Eric Wilson, leads to a serious question; At what stage does taking a productive personal inventory cross over into self-obsession or self-absorption with the intent of explaining away bad behavior through a "condition" versus taking personal ownership for ones actions? Another question . . . have unrealistic expectations (re we have to be happy all of the time) created "conditions" that have led to the over prescribing of anti-psychotic or anti-depression drugs? And does the pharmaceutical industry recognize this trend? While assigning blame or responsibility is a favorite pastime whenever a controversial issue crosses our collective radar, it would seem likely that this growing "problem" is in reality the convergence of the perfect storm of abdicating personal responsibility, corporate greed and a health system that is quite simply broken. In this 60-minute segment I welcome a panel of expert authors to discuss and debate the questions surrounding the marketing, prescribing and utilization of some of the most powerful drugs available. Wall Street Woes Impact on Investors Series 2 - Feb 02,2012 | Media reports have called this movement "Marxist," "Guerrilla" and have claimed that the protestors are inspired by the Arab Spring. However, anyone moving through the crowd and listening to their conversations wouldnt come to that conclusion. When I read the above excerpt from the September 18th, 2011 Huffington Post article article by acclaimed author Natalie Pace (You vs Wall Street: How to Grow Back What Youve Got and Get Back What Youve Lost), I was immediately reminded of the propensity on the part of those in power to use scare tactics such as the threat of communism to both distort and polarize public opinion. One such example was the U.S. Administrations Operation Ajax through which it successfully overthrew the democratically elected Mossadegh Government in 1952, which was largely prompted by the concerns of the British Petroleum Company who feared that Irans move to nationalize their oil fields would cut into their significant profits. Fast forward to today, and Paces reference to one participants lament that "Corporations are too powerful in this country," and that "They control the media and are more powerful than the politicians," seems to indicate that little has changed in both intent and tactics. Against this backdrop, should we even consider investing in the markets and, if we do, how can we overcome the rip tide of corporate avarice to feather our own nest eggs? Joining me today to answer these as well as other questions is Natalie Pace. | 2/2/12 | Free | View In iTunes |

A Tender Trap: Can Women Work The System in Custody Battles? - Jan 28,2012 | “The tender years doctrine suggests that “where a child is of such tender age as to require the care and attention that a mother is especially fitted [sic] to bestow upon it, the mother, rather than the father, is presumed to be the proper custodian, unless for some reason she is unfit for the trust.” This presumption ultimately established a maternal preference in the twentieth century, where, absent a showing of unfitness, the mother automatically received custody of children below a certain age. This policy eventually surpassed the paternal preference in child custody awards.” While the tender years doctrine, which has been around since the 19th century, has at least on the surface given way to newer supposedly more progressive thinking such as the best interests of the child and the primary caregiver standards, based on actual data from the U.S. Census Bureau it appears that old habits or in this case ingrained doctrines are not easily relinquished by the courts. In short, while fathers must pursue an uphill battle in terms of proving the mother to be an unfit parent before he is awarded primary custody, the mother need not prove the father unfit in order to win custody herself. One cannot help but wonder if this skewed view of parental capability leaves the courts vulnerable to manipulation by women with a hidden agenda? One case that immediately comes to mind is that of a successful dentist living in Florida about whom we will be talking this evening. Joining me to talk about this case as well as "the tender trap" doctrine in general is renown criminal profiler Pat Brown and The Cop Doc Richard Weinblatt. | 1/27/12 | Free | View In iTunes |

Remarkable Leaders Radio: 5 Steps to Social Media Success - Jan 26,2012 | Picture this scenario: An employee gets charged with a serious offense and the company’s name gets mentioned repeatedly in the news reports. The reporters found the connection to your organization by scanning through Social Media. Or this scenario: A subcontractor tweets (or posts pictures) celebrating the conclusion of a major, confidential project. This alerts competitors, customers, and suppliers, resulting in millions of dollars of lost sales. Or this one: Someone looks at your Facebook (or LinkedIn) profile, peruses your “friends” to determine your mother’s maiden name, then grabs your birth date and other freely available personal details. Then they call your bank and gain access to your account by “verifying” your identity. The above represents just a few of the challenges we face from both a business and personal standpoint when we enter the vast and exciting world of social media and the Internet. The question is simply this . . . how do we enter these waters without being bitten? Joining me this afternoon on the new Remarkable Leaders Radio Show is Randall Craig, who is one of the leading social media experts in the country to talk about what we need to do to protect ourselves from this risks without isolating ourselves from the opportunities the world of social media provides. | 1/26/12 | Free | View In iTunes |

BTW! - The Perils of Cyber Dating? - Jan 21,2012 | I have so many kooky match.com dating stories it is hard to know which one to share. That being said, I have definitely learned that it is important to be choosy. I joined match after yet another man I was dating lied about being married. My logic was maybe if I could spell out who I am and who I am looking for I could avoid such misery in the future. What an ego boost match was! I was both flattered and overwhelmed by the massive response (Ive since learned I dont need to reply to EVERYBODY lol)....until I began to boil it down . . . So began a post on the Internet Dates From Hell website. The writer then went on to categorize the men she encountered including; The "good Guy" and The Misrepresenter. So what is your experience with online dating and are there definitive tips that can help you avoid what for many has become a memorable evening . . . for all of the wrong reasons? Return To Sender: Ottawa Doctor Sued For Using Wrong Sperm - Jan 14,2012 | At the end of December, the Canadian High Court ruled sections of the nation’s fertility law, the Assisted Human Reproduction Act, unconstitutional and tossed regulation back to the provinces, a move that practically guarantees a patchwork quilt of regulation and ongoing travel for purposes of reproduction. A climate some, such as the Ottawa Citizen describe thusly: Advances in artificial procreation have outpaced Canada’s fertility laws. The result? A field of medicine that has been compared to the “Wild West,” where there are virtually no rules governing what’s legally or morally acceptable. So went the report from the Baby Love Child Website. But are couples turning to the medical profession to help them conceive really entering into a Wild West world. The following interview with renowned medical expert Jeff Knott in which we touch upon the case of Dr. Bernard Norman Barwin who is being sued for inseminating not one but two Ottawa women with the wrong sperm would seem to support the buyer beware sentiments of the public. | 1/13/12 | Free | View In iTunes |

Is SEO Bunk? You may or may not be surprised by the answer! - Dec 22,2011 | By the time last week’s article in Read Write Enterprise quoting Google’s Matt Cutts as saying that the company is trying “to make it so that sites don’t have to do SEO,” and that there should be “no bonus for having good SEO,” had hit the press, I had already since earlier in the day been engaged in a surprising discussion within the friendly confines of an SEO Group on Facebook. Of course I use the word friendly within the same context as say the reaction of bees after poking their hive with a stick. In the case of SEO advocates, my stick was posing questions regarding the validity of SEO based on not only what Mr. Cutts had to say but, my own experience. Well today we move the SEO debate from the social network chat groups and forums to the virtual airwaves as we tackle the question "is SEO Bunk?" head on. Posts in the PI Window on Business Blogs SEO Series: December 15th, 2011 – FINALLY, AN INTELLIGENT COMMENT AND QUESTIONS FROM SOMEONE IN THE SEO PROFESSION December 14th, 2011 – INTO THE BELLY OF THE SEO BEAST . . . Higher Education in 2012: A Year of Big Change? - Dec 13,2011 | “The higher education sector is entering a renaissance of innovation spurred on by students and staff using handheld devices to access and share information,” stated Jeff Sweetman, Chief Operating Officer at Rosslyn Analytics. “In 2012, the proliferation of consumer-friendly technologies will move into back-office functions such as procurement and finance. This shift will enable universities and colleges to create operational savings which will fund exciting private-public sector research projects that will create jobs across campuses.” While we will touch on some of the predicted changes in the back office of our countrys higher education institutions, we will also examine other front line developments in areas such as the creation of an eLearning caucus in Congress and the increasing use of social media in our education system. Joining me this afternoon to talk about these as well as other anticipated developments in the higher ed sector - including the pending budget cuts in 2012, is the Assistant Editor from eCampus News Denny Carter. | 12/13/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

Buyers Meeting Point Weekly Update for December 12th, 2011 - Dec 13,2011 | It was Sir Francis Bacon in his work Meditations which offered the aphorism that “knowledge is power.” Over the years of course this ubiquitous term has probably been attributed to many others besides Bacon, however Sir Francis was and is the first to coin the phrase. Following a similar line of thinking Buyers Meeting Point, which is a procurement resource site that offers purchasing professionals a quick and convenient access point to information and decision-making tools, are certainly not the first to operate within the realms of similar type web-based “knowledge-oriented services.” In fact information in all subjects is readily available to the individual who has both the time and the inclination to navigate what Huxley referred to as a “sea of irrelevance,” which is the Internet. BTW! Are our schools prejudiced . . . against Christmas? - Dec 10,2011 | Two boys earlier today were sent home from a school in Lachute, Quebec for wearing Santa hats as the result of a purported policy of the Province’s Ministry of Education. Given that a Toronto School district is allowing Muslims to pray in the schools lunch-room at noon every Friday I have to say what is going on in our country!!!! Is Christmas, as well as Christianity slowly being eradicated from our society under the auspices of tolerance for other faiths? Here is the link to the interview I did with representatives from the Hindu, Christian and Jewish coalition regarding the Muslim school prayer controversy; Is Valley Park Middle School Canada’s Ground Zero Mosque? In the meantime, while we monitor during this evening’s broadcast both our phone lines for your calls and our chat room for your comments, I will be replaying a segment from our 49th Parallel Forum Show “Bah Humbug! Whats up with Happy Holidays?” Along with my American counterpart Jim Bouchard, we tackle the question Whats wrong with saying "Merry Christmas?" head on. Again, we welcome your calls and comments and where possible will attempt to bring you on-air to enable you to share your thoughts regarding the Province of Quebec’s decision to ban Christmas from our schools. Off The Cuff: An Intimate Conversation w/Susan Baroncini-Moe - Dec 04,2011 | Off The Cuff is just another innovative format from the PI Social Media Network where we eschew the traditional or classic interview style and instead seek to simply connect with our special guests in much the same way that friends do over a cup of coffee at the local cafe. It is an intimate setting where the conversation will flow in a direction that reflects the feel as much as the facts of the story we are covering. This week I welcome to the show Susan Baroncini-Moe. When I first encountered Susan Baroncini-Moe it was in the virtual realms of Facebook. What caught my attention was her catchy "Business in Blue Jeans" tag line in that it reminded me of the old Neil Diamond Song . . . upbeat and fun. Maybe this is what Susan meant when she talks about creating "a distinct brand and a clear marketing strategy to develop a profitable business." Today Baroncini-Moe is going through a transformation of her own built around what she call the 7 Lessons. Tonight we will find out what these seminal lessons are and, how she believes her diverse life experiences can help to reignite the belief in the American entrepreneurial dream. | 12/3/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

BTW! (The Mother of Ottawa serial killer victim speaks) - Dec 03,2011 | “While the Internet is deemed as a haven for free speech, it is important to protect individuals like Nadia from committing suicide at the encouragement of a predator." The above quote is from the opening paragraph from both my August 24th PI Window on Business blog post and August 25th radio segment titled "How Many More Nadia’s: The Serial Suicide Killer Finds A Loop Hole." In this replay of a heartaching interview with Nadias mother Deborah Chevalier, we hear about the Carlton University students life growing up and the impact her death has had on those that knew her. The killer, William Melchert-Dinkel was eventually caught and convicted for his role in both Nadias death as well as a 32 year old man in the UK. We are also joined by criminal profiler Pat Brown to talk about Internet predators and how we can perhaps keep our loved ones (especially children) safe within the virtual realms. | 12/2/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

The above is an excerpt from the November 12th PI Window blog post titled “Is Paterno as guilty as Sandusky? What may have really happened to an honourable man caught up in a predator’s web.” The more my research uncovers the more despicable both Sandusky and those who enabled him to elude detection for so long becomes apparent . . . Buckingham This Week (Friday, Nov. 11th, 2011) - Nov 12,2011 | By now you have probably watched the video of an OC Transpo bus driver yelling expletive deletives at a passenger who, as it was later discovered, was mentally challenged. If not, here is the link to the video with the warning that the language used by the driver in question is shall we say colorful: http://wp.me/p12YTF-dz Now in our Poll we asked the question as to whether or not the driver should be fired? So far, and it is still early in the voting mind you, the overall response is a resounding YES! With such an overwhelming outpouring of public anger towards the OC Transpo employee it might be safe to conclude that there is no other side to this story . . . or is there? This evening we will delve into the complexity of the recent issue including why it is illegal to film on an OC Transpo bus, the possibility that the driver may sue the individual or individuals involved in capturing the angry exchange on video and, the impact this as well as other similar-type incidents have on the looming negotiations between the transit company and the Amalgamated Transit Union. Buckingham This Week (Friday, Nov. 4th, 2011) - Nov 05,2011 | Local police shooting rogue steers reminiscent of a Far Side cartoon but . . . I have to admit that when one of our faithful listeners by the name of Tanya forwarded the link for the following CBC video in which Gatineau police officers "gun down" rogue steers, my thoughts immediately turned to the famed cartoonist Gary Larson and his depiction of bovines gone wild. You remember, the single frame image of cows driving a tractor into the farmers barn? However, and perhaps reflective of the ignorance of a true city boy, this lighter view of what was a serious situation quickly gave way to an understanding of just how incendiary stories such as these can become in a relatively short time. This raises a number of questions from both an actual incident standpoint (re was the police response appropriate, how did the cows get loose and should the farmer be held liable), as well as understanding the impact and influence of social media. Specifically, and similar to last years video in which a Seattle police officer is shown punching an unruly female jaywalker, does the ease at which everyday life events are catapulted into our collective consciousness through the Internet help or hinder our understanding of an event? Tonight we will tackle these as well as other questions surrounding the Gatineau story head on. The phone lines (347-326-9234) and chat room will be open to your calls and questions. Take our BTW! Buckingham This Week (Friday, Oct. 28th, 2011) - Oct 29,2011 | Welcome to another great segment of Buckingham This Week! Ethereal (eh-theory-el) songstress Amanda Cottreau and forefront guitarist Steve Perron team up to create a fusion of raw/rugged acoustic alchemy. Their band STAIRWELL LEO delivers a multi-decade repertoire of Classic Rock, Alternative & Folk covers blended seamlessly with their original creations. In this era of carefully crafted careers and manufactured stardom through shows such as American Idol, is there an informed audience for the authentic music of a duo whose artistic interpretations and original compositions spans both genres and generations? Based on their growing local presence that also extends beyond the Capital Region, I would have to say yes! Joining me this evening on BTW! is none other than Amanda Cottreau and Steve Perron. | 10/28/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

Enhancing Profitability Through Strategic Sourcing (Part 3) - Oct 27,2011 | Normally I would review a new book within the electronic pages or posts of my blog. However having aired more than 300 episodes over the virtual airwaves of the Blog Talk Radio Network, I thought that it would make far more sense to use this venue as a means of connecting you with the authors themselves to talk about their book and in particular the insights and revelations it provides in a rapidly changing global marketplace. A kind of Live from New York sort of concept, except instead of Saturdays we will be airing over a 22 week period a brief 15 minute segment dedicated to each chapter on Wednesday evenings at 10:00 PM EST. With this third installment in the series we will continue to examine the evolution of strategic sourcing through the eyes of two industry veterans whose been there, done that expertise provides them with a unique and much needed perspective on an industry in transformation. I am of course talking about Source One Management Services Joe Payne and William Dorn whose new book "Managing Indirect Spend: Enhancing Profitability Through Strategic Sourcing," has just been released. Buyers Meeting Point Weekly Update for October 24th, 2011 - Oct 25,2011 | It was Sir Francis Bacon in his work Meditations which offered the aphorism that “knowledge is power.” Over the years of course this ubiquitous term has probably been attributed to many others besides Bacon, however Sir Francis was and is the first to coin the phrase. In an effort to make this a less onerous task, each and every Monday I will be joined by Buyers Meeting Points Kelly Barner, who will provide an update on industry happenings and developments that will help you to keep your fingers on the pulse of a rapidly changing global industry. | 10/24/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

The Psychology of Professional Athletes - Oct 23,2011 | In addressing the probability of "a satisfying and rewarding career" as a professional athlete "Digger" Phelps, who is the former University of Notre Dame basketball coach disclosed in 1983 that "I still have to tell most of the kids who come to play for me that theyre not going to make it as pros, that they should forget that dream . . . and that, even if they do make it, the average pro career is only three and a half years, and when its over, theyll still have another 50 years to live. Last week on BTW! I talked with 3 former professional football players about their lives after their respective careers came to an end. It was a telling story in that it emphasized the fact that besides being one play away from retirement as a result of injury, the average career is but a whisp of smoke within the context of the remaining and long years that athletes face when the cheering comes to an end. And make no mistake, as our guests stressed when your life as pro ends, it ends period. Gone for many are the big paychecks, public recognition and the feeling of being part of a team. In other words your life as you knew it is over. For the majority of former pros what awaits them is unemployment, divorce, financial destitution and for some the daunting challenges of dealing with addiction. But life doesnt have to end up that way, as there are options for making a successful transition to a life after professional sports. Joining me this evening to talk about what those options are is renown sports psychologist Dr. Jack Singer, who will provide sound advice for former athletes, in fact for anyone facing a significant life change whether it be in career, financial setback or death of a partner. | 10/22/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

Buckingham This Week (Bullying In Our Schools) - Oct 22,2011 | With the disclosure by 26 year old gunman Rock Dagenais who, this past April entered the Saint-Laurent school in Buckingham demanding to be taken before a classroom of students, that his motives were the result of (at least in part) his being bullied in school as a child, reflects a growing issue within the public educatuion system. While the incidences of bullying covers a broad range, such as the young kindergarten student at another Buckingham school who was viciously bitten by a classmate leaving visible scars both physically and emotionally, the real question is simply this . . . who is reasponsible for addressing the problem? While many parents look to the school system to take action, in reality there is a growing consensus that it is in fact the parents who are ultimately the source of both the problem and the solution in terms of bullying. In a special PI Window replay of a guest panel discussion that includes 5 time bestselling author Larry Winget (Your Kids Are Your Own Fault and Shut Up, Stop Whining & Get A Life), the issue of bullying in school and in the workplace is tackled head on in this 60 minute segment. | 10/21/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

Buckingham This Week (Friday, Oct. 14th, 2011) - Oct 15,2011 | This week we will be joined by former professional athletes Milan Topolovec, Trevor Kennerd and Robert Bronk to talk about life before, during and after their career came to the inevitable end. Whats interesting is that unlike the rest of us Al Bundys who it seems with each passing year add yet another touchdown, goal or home run to our illustriously imagined careers, these are individuals who represent what has to be the smallest percentage of people in the world that get to pursue their athletic dreams before millions of people. But what did it take to scale the heights and what did they gain from their experience. It should be an interesting segment. Our call-in number is 347-326-9234, so be ready to tell us what you think! While the Gatineau Police are taking major steps to apprehend a man described as being in his forties, measuring 6 feet and weighing an estimated 240 pounds who, on several occasions has attempted to abduct women in the Gatineau area, Brown believes that it is just a matter of time before he succeeds. In this segment of BTW! Brown will build a profile of the perpetrator based on her years of extensive experience and unparalleled expertise, and in the process hopefully help to identify a man on an obvious mission before its too late. Off The Cuff: An Intimate Conversation with Sarah Centrella - Oct 02,2011 | Off The Cuff is just another innovative format from the PI Social Media Network where we eschew the traditional or classic interview style and instead seek to simply connect with our special guests in much the same way that friends do over a cup of coffee at the local cafe. It is an intimate setting where the conversation will flow in a direction that reflects the feel as much as the facts of the story we are covering. This week I welcome to the show Sarah Centrella. Author of the "Thoughts.Stories.Life," blog, Sarah has gained the attention of a worldwide audience sharing the very real and very painful experience of her discovery just 3 months after her identical twin girls turned a year old, that her husband of 8 years was having an affair with his high school sweetheart. This is a story of courage and a personal journey in which there is ultimately a realization of a better and more promising tomorrow after the unthinkable happens. Whats even more amazing is how she has openly shared her life along with the good and not so good through her blog. If you would like to talk with Sarah during the show, you can call in using 347-326-9234 or 877-503-5036. . | 10/1/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

If there is one thing that Jon has learned in the more than 300 episodes he has hosted, it is that news, real news and human interest stories can and do happen anywhere at any time! With Buckingham This Week!, Jon will touch on those stories that impact this community of 12,000 (and growing) that rests just outside of the nations capital Ottawa. Besides commentary and guests, the shows format will also include a call-in and chat room capability so that your opinions can be shared and heard both here at home and around the globe. In this first segment, Jon will talk about safety in our schools and the recent incident in Buckingham where a young man walked into an elementary school armed with a gun, asking to speak to a classroom of students. Joining Jon will be criminal profiler Pat Brown (from Nancy Grace, Dr. Drew), as well as former Police Chief and television commentator (Fox News) Dr. Richard Weinblatt. What happened, why did it happen and most importantly, what needs to be done to prevent it from happening again. Our call-in number is 347-326-9234, so be ready to tell us what you think! Blow Me: A Novel By Lennie Ross - Aug 20,2011 | Blow Me is the story of three single women—each close to forty and living a life they have long outgrown. Aware that the women’s magazines of their youth sold them a false bill of goods about having it all—the amazing career, the baby, the house, the husband—each woman is desperate to achieve some sense of stability. Skylar, a hairdresser/executive assistant who lost her job and burned down her apartment after a fondue party, is living out of her car. Chloe, a struggling actress/real estate agent with a French Canadian accent who has never sold a house and doesn’t have her SAG card, struggles to get a Green Card. Dawn, an MBA-educated dating matchmaker, is hedging her bets against the ticking clock by freezing embryos. Their lives are in chaos and their only hope is to be rescued through marriage or by a Hairy Godfather. So goes the story in Lennie Ross new novel Blow Me. While the title is bound to grab peoples attention, it is the compelling tale of the three protagonists that seems to resonate with women (and yes, even men) who grew up after the "you can have it all" era. Joining me this evening to talk about the creative force behind her characters and how each womans personal and collective situation resonates with the reader is none other than Lennie Ross. | 8/19/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

Is Valley Park Middle School Canada’s Ground Zero Mosque? - Jul 27,2011 | The Jewish Defence League of Canada, along with the Canadian Hindu Advocacy and the Christian Heritage Party, told a news conference they will protest the controversial prayer sessions next Monday. from the July 18th, 2011 Canadian Press article Groups plan protest over Muslim prayers being allowed in Toronto school As you know, I have expended a great deal of electronic ink covering the continuing controversy surrounding the Muslim movement as some have called it, regarding flashpoint crisises ranging from the building of the Ground Zero Mosque to fearful warnings of a global assimilation. Yet despite these newer developments the long standing debate over prayer in school has again resurfaced in of all places a secondary school in Toronto, Canada. In this evenings program I welcome to the show a guest panel that includes representatives from the Jewish Defence League of Canada and the Canadian Hindu Advocacy, to talk about both their collective and individual response to the districts decision to allow 300 Muslim students to worship in the schools cafeteria during school hours. Is Muslim encroachment at heart of the Valley Park Middle School controversy, or a reflection of the collective apathy of the followers of other faiths who have in the past perhaps failed to rigorously challenge the abolishment of praying in our schools? Tonight we get the answers to these as well as other pressing questions! Related blog post: http://wp.me/pydAP-2mz. PI Inquisitive Eye - Madison Avenue Spend Intelligence? - Jul 12,2011 | "Spend intelligence takes spend analysis a step further. It enables the enterprise to take what it knows from the spend data it has gathered and use it to act on forward-thinking initiatives. In other words, spend intelligence provides actionable information.” While some industry pundits have expressed the opinion that the reference to "spend intelligence" is nothing more than Madison Avenue buzz terminology designed to "shoot some Botox into a segment of the Spend Management market,”or that it is somehow "misleading," based on the opinions of our expert guest panel nothing could be further from the truth. In this excerpt from the September 24th, 2009 PI Window on Business segment "Spend Analysis versus Spend Intelligence: More Than a Semantical Difference," you will find out why spend intelligence is not only a key element of effective decision making, but reflects the emergence of a new generation of SaaS solutions that empower effective yet autonomous decision-making on the front lines. An Interview with Canada's Trade Minister on U.S. Trade - Jul 12,2011 | The PI Window on Business has touched on a number of interesting topics that has steadily expanding since the first broadcast in March 2009. One such area is the intersecting interests (and perhaps conflicts) of the political and business worlds as illustrated in this September 30th, 2009 interview with Canada’s Trade Minister Stockwell Day regarding the impact of the Buy American Policy on both domestic and global economies. While I have ultimately enjoyed having the privilege of talking with every guest who has been gracious enough to share the virtual airwaves with me, this interview stands out because of the breadth of the subject matters impact both domestically as well as internationally. I often times make reference to this interview through a variety of mediums, including todays post on the Procurement Insights blog titled In the Year 2020 . . . Workforce. | 7/12/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

Cocaine, Marijuana and . . . Rice? - Jul 10,2011 | Today’s segment originally aired on the PI Inquisitive Eye TV Channel. I have to admit right off the bat that when NHPPA President Shawn Buckley related the current case of The Warm Buddy Company which appears to be on a collision course with Health Canada over everyday table rice, my initial reaction was that there had to be more to the story. After all, table rice is something with which we are are familiar, regularly consume and besides being a threat to birds when thrown at a wedding, is one of the most versatile and innocuous food substances known to humankind. Whats next our resident health care expert Jeff Knott would ask . . . my favorite almond chocolate bars! Remember to tune into my July 28th interview with Shawn Buckley and Jeff Knott @ Criminalizing the Sale of Natural Health Products? For an added chuckle, here is the PI Inquisitive Eye broadcast in which I provide a commentary relative to my call to Health Canada regarding the Warm Buddy recall @ Health Canada Call re Rice-based products | 7/9/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

Governor Jan Is Right: But Don't Lose Your Head About It! - Jul 10,2011 | Today’s segment originally aired on the PI Inquisitive Eye TV Channel. Come on people . . . let’s give Guv’ner Jan a break! Sure she had a mild, shall we say Ischemic incident during a televised campaign debate. But to use that as a basis to call into question her claims that there are, and I quote “bodies in the desert either buried or just lying out there that have been beheaded,” is just plain wrong and darn not polite. So started my commentary on this segment of the PI Inquisitive Eye. Not since our 49th Parallel Forum segment with 911 Hard Hat Pledge founder Andy Sullivan have I had as much fun as I did with this story. (Note: I really did enjoy the debate with Andy about whom I would say is one of the most sincere people I have encountered even though I do not agree with all of his politics. At least he got into the game.) I hope that you enjoy it as well. | 7/9/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

Intel Antitrust Settlement Hurts Consumers? - Jul 09,2011 | The following was originally aired on PI Inquisitive Eye Internet TV Channel. Antitrust expert Evan Stewart and Alan Greenspan share the same Laissez-faire tendencies that is undermining both public trust and ultimately the economy. At least that was my point of view in this particular PI Inquisitive Eye Soundbite. In what was at the time the latest example of poor corporate citizenry from the monolithic chip maker in which it was revealed through an announcement that the FTC was suing Intel as it relates to the future of the graphics processor market, the FTC complaint includes allegations that Intel: Cut off rivals’ access to the marketplace; Deprived consumers of choice and innovation; Was anti-competitive for a decade as it moved to shore up its monopoly; And now is working to choke off rivals in graphics chips. Apologizing for the Christian Faith? (The Pendulum Factor) - Jul 09,2011 | The following was originally aired on PI Inquisitive Eye Internet TV Channel. The pendulum factor to which the title of this PI Inquisitive Eye Soundbite refers deals with what I have often referred to as tolerable intolerance or, intolerable tolerance. Specifically, and on one hand, we have groups which take offense to putting up Christmas Trees and wishing someone Merry Christmas, while on the other hand we have people expressing their fears that we are slowly becoming assimilated into what is fast becoming a Muslim world. In this segment, we view the issue of freedom of religion through the eyes of Christianity. | 7/9/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

Sean Penn v Wyclef Jean and the real problems in Haiti - Jul 09,2011 | The following was originally aired on PI Inquisitive Eye Internet TV Channel. Around the same time that I had interviewed Haitian Presidential candidate Dr. Eddy Delaleu, musician Wyclef Jean announced his candidacy for the top office in the country as well. Social activist and on the ground volunteer Sean Penn expressed his skepticism of Wyclef Jeans decision to run in the 2011 Haitian presidential elections. Based on Jeans answers in a recent Esquire Magazine article, such concerns appear to be somewhat warranted. In this PI Inquisitive Eye Soundbite I discuss the Penn interview on CNN, as well as closely examine a CIA report on Haiti that cuts through the obfuscation of a musician playing in the political arena to address the real issues that the country faces. | 7/9/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

A Muslim's Right To Pray (Skokie Revisited?) - Jul 09,2011 | The following was originally aired on PI Inquisitive Eye Internet TV Channel. When I received the e-mail earlier this morning regarding what has become the topic for today’s PI Inquisitive Eye Soundbite, I was immediately reminded of the 1977 National Socialist Party of America (whose origins were linked to the American Nazi Party), and their attempt to demonstrate their political existence with a march in Skokie. This was a highly contentious and potentially explosive situation given that Skokie had a significant number of Holocaust survivors living in the community, which was one of the main reasons why the NSPA choose the Village as the site for its march. It is a compelling story, and fascinating study of the American legal system that was actually made into a movie titled simply “Skokie.” Now before I go any further, I want to stress that my reason for making reference to the Skokie story is in no way an attempt to draw any kind of parallel between the Nazis and Muslims. The only reason I am even mentioning it within the confines of this particular blog post is that as detestable as a Nazi march in a community that had a population in which 40% were Jewish, the American Civil Liberties Union actually interceded on behalf of the NSPA. If the ACLU could step in to defend the NSPA right to march how then, if we recognize the fact that the vast majority of Muslims are not terrorists, can we take issue with their right to pray? | 7/9/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

Once again, this was my first speaking engagement regarding my research between 1998 and 2003 in terms of developing web-based procurement solutions utilizing an agent versus equation-based model. In my opinion, the Q&A session following the presentation was most interesting and controversial in that it reflected the level of antagonism that had grown in the industry between automotive industry buyers and their suppliers (especially relating to technology and in particular reverse auctions). I think that you will find this equally interesting, especially when you consider the question as to whether or not the industry on both sides of the transaction fence has progressively improved since 2005. | 6/21/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

Buyers Meeting Point Weekly Update for June 20th, 2011 - Jun 21,2011 | It was Sir Francis Bacon in his work Meditations which offered the aphorism that “knowledge is power.” Over the years of course this ubiquitous term has probably been attributed to many others besides Bacon, however Sir Francis was and is the first to coin the phrase. Following a similar line of thinking Buyers Meeting Point, which is a procurement resource site that offers purchasing professionals a quick and convenient access to point to information and decision-making tools, are certainly not the first to operate within the realms of similar type web-based “knowledge-oriented services.” In fact information in all subjects is readily available to the individual who has both the time and the inclination to navigate what Huxley referred to as a “sea of irrelevance,” which is the Internet. COUPA Pitches a Joe Namath-type Guarantee - Jun 03,2011 | Okay, maybe COUPA’s Jason Hekl wasn’t sitting poolside besieged by a cacophony of reporters clamoring for a big story. Maybe Jason wasn’t getting ready to go before a packed Orange Bowl crowd and millions of television viewers. However, and with the same moxie and a track record of successes a mile long, Hekl delivered a Joe Namath-type guarantee that should put the staid old ERP fuddy duddies on notice that the game in terms of eProcurement has changed. In this all too brief PI Soundbite interview, COUPA’s VP of Marketing took time out of a busy schedule to respond to my questions regarding the guaranteed savings being offered to new clients by the company. | 6/2/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

Antipsychotic Prescriptions for Children (UPDATE for 2011) - May 22,2011 | In December 2009 I wrote the following article based on the alarming disclosure in a New York Times article that the prescribing of anti-psychotic drugs to children between the ages of 3 and 17 had dramatically increased. At that time I was unaware of the documentary The Drugging of Our Children by Gary Null (see trailer below). Based on the additional information provided through this shocking account of how medicating our children has taken the place of responsible and involved parenting, I felt that an updated reprint was more than warranted. In this evenings program a guest panel of experts will join me to talk about adolescent mental health and whether we are medicating instead of parenting our children. | 5/21/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

Creativity & Mental Illness: Why Celebrities Crash! - May 05,2011 | When I read Claire Marees October 10, 2006 article Melody & Mental Illness: The Outsider Musician & Artist, I was moved on so many levels. In the case of Badfingers Pete Ham, whos suicide note words “I will not be allowed to love and trust everybody. This is better,” revealed a tortured soul, I could not help but wonder if there was indeed something to the concept of the outside musician and artist. Is there indeed a creative insanity that simultaneously propels artistic creativity and self-destructive tendencies? After all, Ham had shown growing signs of mental illness in the months leading up to his suicide, including burning cigarettes out on his hands and arms. This behaviour have led many to conclude that Ham suffered from deliberate self-harm “DSH,” which experts link to a condition known as “dopamine receptor supersensitivity” resulting from early childhood abuse in which there were negligent parent-child interactions (including minimal touch, talk, and play), that may actually altered neurons that process dopamine in the brain. Given the bands close ties to the Beatles and the fact that Badfinger was considered by many to be the the heir apparent to the Fab Four, the real question is whether Ham would have possessed the music creativity that propelled him to such a lofty height of recognition without the illness? Joining me to talk about Pete Ham and the Outsider Artist and Musician concept is the personal counsellor to some of America’s biggest Hollywood stars and executives Lisa Haisha, who is the originator of the unique and powerful counselling approach known as “Soul Blazing.” | 5/4/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

Government Contracts: Win Buyer Preference Legitimately - May 03,2011 | In a radio interview in May of 2009 with Canadian Federation of Independent Business VP Corinne Pohlmann (“Government Procurement Policy: A Question of Synchronization Versus Compression”), it became clear that the issue of procurement in the public sector was of waning interest to the association which represents more than 108,000 small businesses across the country. According to Pohlmann, only a small percentage of her constituents were pursuing opportunities within the public sector, and of those a good percentage viewed the RFP process has being overly cumbersome and largely ineffective. All this of course coincides with the revelation by former aide to New York Governor Mario Cuomo Al Gordon that 90% of all winning bidders are decided through a series of open, non-clandestine meetings in which the vendor gains what Bradt has referred to as legitimate and transparent buyer preference. The following is an audio excerpt from a PI Inquisitive Eye TV Special that is scheduled to air later this month featuring a series of interviews with suppliers and government sector experts centered around Bradt’s new book Government Contracts Made Easier, will undoubtedly prove to be both enlightening and maybe a little controversial. | 5/2/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

Russell plans to introduce a bill that will legalize marijuana in Maine. Opponents argue the legalization is both irresponsible and not good public policy." -- WGME13 News As a former drug abuser, host Jim Bouchards thoughts on the issue may surprise you! Why the UK Gov turned down an opportunity to analyze spend - Apr 21,2011 | London, UK – 13 April 2011: The UK government’s failure to embrace the latest proven private sector technologies is costing the public sector billions in lost savings. Three weeks after announcing an unprecedented offer to aggregate public sector expenditure data from all major central departments for free in April, Rosslyn Analytics and QlikTech are disappointed to announce today that senior government officials have refused to quickly address – and at no cost to taxpayers – highly publicised shortcomings in government spending data. The above is an excerpt from a press release from UK-based Rosslyn Analytics, announcing that their offer to provide the Cabinet Office with a free government-wide spend analysis had been declined. Joining me from the UK is 30 year public sector veteran and the author of the seminal paper “Towards Tesco” Colin Cram, who will provide his views on why the government is turning down an offer that it would appear they could not (or should not) refuse. | 4/21/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

Bullying In Our Schools: Is The Problem Bigger Than We Think - Apr 14,2011 | Bullying can take on many forms including physical, emotional and verbal elements where there is a real or perceived “imbalance of power with the more powerful individual or group,” abusing those who are “less powerful.” Unfortunately, and tragically as demonstrated by the Phoebe Prince case, normalcy or lighthearted reminiscences has little to do with the real-life pain that bullying can inflict. In fact a recent UK study found that between 15 to 25 children commit suicide every year as a direct result of being bullied. There have been many reasons cited as being at the root cause of why children bully including the belief that they themselves are being bullied at home by an older sibling or worse yet, a parent. In a follow-up to our recent 49th Parallel Forum broadcast in which Jim Bouchard and I welcomed guests from New York and Australia to discuss the Gentle Giant story (I am of course talking about Casey Heynes), this evening we will welcome relationship expert Dr. Jackie Black to weigh in on the growing controversy of bullying. | 4/13/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

BizDrive: Building a Business Community Versus a Business Network - Mar 21,2011 | In 1916, L.J. Hanifan defined the concept of Social Capital as being, “..that in life which tends to make these tangible substances count for most in the daily lives of people: namely good will, fellowship, sympathy, and social i*********e among the individuals and families who make up a social unit… The individual is helpless socially, if left to himself… If he comes into contact with his neighbor, and they with other neighbors, there will be accumulation of social capital, which may immediately satisfy his social needs and which may bear a social potentiality sufficient to the substantial improvement of living conditions in the whole community. The community as a whole will benefit by the cooperation of all its parts, while the individual will find in his associations the advantages of the help, the sympathy, and the fellowship of his neighbors.” There have been many times where the L.J. Hanifan definition of social capital has crossed my mind in terms of exemplifying the spirit of social networking. Hanifan of course speaks to the collaboration within a community which serves both individual as well as collective intersts. It would appear that Tracey De Leeuw took the Hannifan prinicple to heart when she launched the BizDrive business network. Joining me this afternoon to talk about the BizDrive concept, and the differences between a business community versus business network is of Tracey De Leeuw. | 3/21/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

The Internet Predator Verdict Is In . . . GUILTY! Is this the Start of a New Internet Policing Era? - Mar 20,2011 | However, the law is not based solely on society’s moral sensibilities (although it should reflect them). Nor for that matter, has Melchert-Dinkel lawyer Watkin’s claimed that his client’s actions were morally honorable. The issue at hand is whether or not his client had the right to write what he did in the chat rooms, regardless of the consequences. It is upon this point of law that the Appellate Court will hear the case and ultimately decide Melchert-Dinkel’s future. From the moment I had first heard about this case, and throughout our extensive coverage (which has included exclusive stories and interviews), it has been a journey of contradictory extremes where moral sensibilities collided with legal technicalities in the uncharted realms of the virtual world. Suffice to say, and while you strive hard to maintain a detached objectivity, you cannot help but be drawn into the maelstrom of emotions and moral debates that have for many, had a life-altering impact. While we should have no illusions regarding the guity verdict, even if it is upheld in the Appellate Courts, that this will necessarily deter those who share Melchert-Dinkel’s compulsions, it is nonetheless an important outcome as it reflects a moral value that transcends the legal wranglings relating to First Amendment Rights and the purported vagueness of the law upon which the criminal charges were based. At least for the moment, the verdict connects us with our humanity that has far too often been lost in the contentiousness of a world that seems to be at odds with itself. But one question that stands out is whether the ruling in the Serial Suicide Killers case heralds a new era in policing the Internet? Joining me this evening to discuss the guilty verdict as well as its far reaching consequences is a guest panel that includes TVs Cop Doc, Dr. Richard Weinblatt. | 3/19/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

Discovering an Understanding Your Financial Personality Profile - Mar 19,2011 | You've probably noticed that different people relate to money differently- some folks can walk around with cash and not spend it, while other people seem unable to carry a credit card with them without coming home with another pair of shoes. Some people account for every penny they have, while others avoid the question entirely. Some folks would do just about anything to get more of it, while others regard it as base, tainted, beneath them, or even as evil. Some folks are happy with just a little, while some get nervous if their bank account doesn't have many thousands of dollars in it. We all relate to money, to a degree, in an emotional way, and this in turn affects how money enters and leaves our lives. In effect, our attitudes and habits about money constitute a blueprint for just about every aspect of our financial lives- how much we earn, how much we spend, save, squander, etc. Once you realize how it works, (it's pretty simple) it's not uncomplicated to begin to make changes in your financial blueprint- after all, it's just your attitudes and habits. The above is an excerpt from an article that appeared in The Paddling Fool website that caught my attention for a number of reasons. To start, and during our December segment with Couples & Money author Dr. Jackie Black, she had made reference to the fact that I had a scarcity mindset when it comes to my view of money. This is likely a by-product of having a father, who as a child grew up to a widowed mother with 6 siblings during the Great Depression. It was a time when basic necessities were considered a luxury with even a high school diploma taking a back seat to making ends meet. My father was an A student but could not afford to pay the $5 to write his final exams. Joining me this evening to unravel the mystery surrounding our financial personalities is none other than the incomparable Dr. Jackie Black. | 3/18/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

Women in America: Enlightening Womens' Minds, and Empowering Womens' Hearts - Mar 05,2011 | As women's history month launches, the White House published a new report -- We've got a ways to go, baby. "At all levels of education, women earned about 75 percent of what their male counterparts earned in 2009...women are more likely to be in poverty than men....economic inequities ...more acute for women of color." How shall we change that? As I read the above post by expert author Judy Bradt, who has been a guest on the PI Window on Business many times including as part of a guest panel discussion regarding the just released White House Report "Women in America: Indicators of Social and Economic Well-Being," I must admit I was a little taken aback by the numbers. After all, haven't the women in modern American society come a long way from the days of Genevieve Clark, and the passing of the Nineteenth Amendment to the United States Constitution in 1920? Certainly the comment (and he is sincere here) by my fellow combatant from the south on the 49th Parallel Forum Jim Bouchard, that his wife Alex is the power behind the throne - as the show's moderator she is certainly the voice of reason, one would reasonably assume that the anecdotal reference points in society today would mean that equalization between the sexes has been achieved. Or has it? Joining me this evening to discuss this most recent report on the State of the Union relative to how women fare today both domestically as well as in an increasingly globalized community is Pure Soapbox author and let's face a force to be reckoned with Kimberlie Dykeman and, Alexys "Lexy" Thompson, who is the Regional Director for the International Women's Day Event in the City of Houston on Tuesday, March 8th, 2011. | 3/4/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

Acres of Diamonds: Are our children the underprivileged of the world? - Feb 26,2011 | The article titled Anti-psychotic Prescriptions . . . for Children: Is the Medicaid Story Today’s Version of Go Ask Alice?, in which I discussed the the growing number of children between the ages of 3 and 17 who were (and still are) being prescribed powerful anti-psychotic drugs. Given the above trend, it was of course not a surprise to discover that anti-psychotic prescriptions “are the single biggest drug expenditure for Medicaid, costing the program $7.9 B in 2006, the most recent year for which the data was available.” For many parents, such as the mother of a 10 year old who has been on anti-psychotics since the age of 3 and now suffers from weight and heart problems as a result of taking the drugs, these side effects are a reasonable trade-off because in her own words, they made "the boy’s mental and physical conditions manageable." Mental and physical conditions manageable? If I am not mistaken, do we not live in the greatest country in the world where our children can grow up fed, educated and loved? According to 5 time bestselling author Larry Winget, whose latest book Your Kids Are Your Own Fault references studies which indicate that on average parents only spend 3 minutes per week in meaningful conversation with their children, it is this very abundance or pursuit thereof that may be at the very heart of the problems associated with bullying, and the purported need for children to be drugged. Against this backdrop of impoverished parent - child relations, Lisa Haishas sharing of her encounters with children from around the world, and particularly those in trouble spots such as Iraq, through her book Whispers From Childrens Hearts is a gut wrenching wake-up call that should put North American society on notice as to how much we have let our own children down within the supposedly cozy confines of what is undoubtedly a gilded cage of opportunity promised, yet lost. Constitutional Suicide Pact and the Ground Zero Mosque - Feb 24,2011 | With the success of Operation Ajax in 1952, did America forever undermine its ability to legitimately champion democracy in the Middle East and as an unintended consequence set into motion the events that eventually led to 9/11? A more pressing question is whether or not these tragic chain of historic events, and the response by movements such as the 911 Hard Hat Pledge to derail the building of what is called the Ground Zero Mosque, are fueling the growth of extremism and terrorism in the world. Why People Marry Up or Marry Down and What Are the Consequences? - Feb 20,2011 | "The females romantic conation is more adaptive and directive than that of the male," Kephart concludes. "Apparently, she is able to exercise a greater measure of control over her romantic inclinations, adapting them to the exigencies of marital selection." (1967:472.) Such an orientation seems to be in line with the tendency to marry up." In its own right it is both an interesting, controversial and perhaps even incendiary paper given that there are negative connotations associated with the concept of marrying up (as well as marrying down), such as references to gold-digging and status climbing. What is interesting, and as demonstrated in real life scenarios such as with the Sandra Bullock and Jesse James scandal, or in the movies in which Matt Dillon's character in the 1991 film "A Kiss Before Dying" provides an extreme demonstration of wealth oriented aspirations, is that the practice perhaps knows no gender. Regardless of the conflicting data which has become even more convoluted in social realms where traditional gender roles have been and are being redefined, such relationships take on an entirely different dimension when children are introduced into the equation. Take the case of Dr. James Wardner. When his legal wranglings with the Florida Courts regarding both access to and custody of his 5 children were first brought to my attention, the picture that was painted was one of a noble dentist falling prey to a conniving, status seeking drug addict who had the reputation for using both men and the legal system to forward her insatiable appetite for cocaine and fraternizing with society's dark underbelly. But here's the thing, if she was so bad why did the doctor have 5 children with her? I can't seem to wrap my head around this one point as well as others. Our guest panel in this evening's program seeks to understand this as well as similar cases. | 2/19/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

Boldly introducing a new television genre, the talkumentary, RAW incorporates the one-on-one conversation element of a talk show with the authenticity of a documentary through its use of video journaling. So goes the description of an exciting new TV series in which open and honest dialogue delivers meaningful insights into the lives of several women without falling into the maudlin sappiness of a self-created life drama such as the ones involving the Lidsay Lohans and Paris Hiltons. These are real women, talking about their lives in a real-world that is not obfuscated by celebrity and money. Ultimately, it is this salient reality that promises to deliver something of value which is the common experience from the everyday lives of some amazing people. Joining me this evening to talk about what is likely itself to become the most talked about show is RAW: Revelations of Authentic Women creator and visionary Janee Harrell. | 2/17/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

Success amidst failure: How Oakland USD realized the promised value from procurement automation - Feb 16,2011 | At California’s Oakland Unified School District (USD), which manages 146 district schools with more than 45,000 students, the march toward e-procurement has paid enormous dividends. Not only is the district saving about $2 million annually, it is also improving the educational process by ensuring that computers, supplies and books are available when and where they’re needed, says Michael Moore, operations officer for Oakland USD. From my coverage of the calamitous exploits of SAP in which many industry analysts are of the opinion that the German-based giant is on life support teetering precariously close to flat-lining, and the corresponding challenges associated with struggling initiatives such as the one in Marin County, CA which resulted in a $30 million lawsuit, to the well documented struggles of Ariba, successful automation implementations of any kind are rarer than a legitimate Honus Wagner baseball card. While I have often likened purported successes in process automation to the claim by at least 250,000 people and counting, that they were at the very first MLB game of the Toronto Blue Jays - a difficult feat given the fact that the old CNE stadium in Toronto only seated 35,000, when you encounter someone who can actually produce the ticket stub the stories they have to share are amazing. Suffice to say, and what is the equivalent of talking with someone who had experienced the inaugural pitch first hand, the success of the Oakland Unified School District is both compelling and perhaps even to a degree inspiring. Michael Moore whose unassuming, aw shucks it was nothing demeanor is as refreshing as the results of the Oakland USD to automate its procurement work-flow process will join us to share what may very well become the proverbial road-map for other school districts to emulate given the current budgetary dilemma most states and municipalities are now facing. | 2/16/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

The cost of the IFRS Lease Capitalization initiative: A hold-up of small business in America - Feb 15,2011 | The more I investigate the IFRS proposal to capitalize leasing the more I am convinced that this is nothing more than a fee creation scam that will ultimately and perhaps in certain instances irreparably harm small-medium enterprises in America. Like the fear mongering associated with the Y2K bug, where copious amounts of money were spent to protect ourselves from what amounted to the reflection of our own fears, the IFRS move to capitalize leases will ultimately affect balance sheets and likely lead to an increase in the cost of borrowing money from the banks. An oversimplification perhaps, but think of it this way . . . I have a lease for 5 years with an option to renew for another 5 years. Based on what the IFRS is proposing, the liability for the entire 10 years has to be recorded on my books today. Think of the impact on the balance sheet for the majority of small-medium enterprises. Joining me to talk about how business, especially small-medium enterprises, can prepare for the impact of lease capitalization is Michael VanderGoot, CPA from the BC COMPLIANCE GROUP, LLC Expense Recovery & Reduction Services | 2/15/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

Love is in the Air . . . or depending on the state of your love life it could just be gas! - Feb 14,2011 | Just this past week I received an e-mail with the heading “:we have a gorgeous selection” suggesting that my manly prowess may not be all it could be. Funny, I never used to receive these e-mails with such frequency prior to crossing the half-century mark . . . Besides a flaccid libido, based on the other electronic notifications I am receiving through e-mail, Facebook connections and in general from the virtual realms of You’re Not Good Enough, Not Smart Enough, and Doggone It, People Hate You!, it is becoming quite clear that I somehow went off the track. But where? Then it hit me, I need to be less like Elmer Fudd and more like the guy on the Old Spice Commercials! The above is an excerpt from my February 10th post "Ahhhh . . . If only I were the Old Spice Guy!" Of course men and women both have different views of romance, especially on this the most revered day for love . . . Valentines Day! Joining me to help us navigate through the at times conflicting Venus - Mars view of love is none other than the incomparable first lady of the romantic arts Rhonda Ricardo, whose book Cherries Over Quicksand tackles some of the most challenging questions surrounding the relationship between men and women with insight, sensitivity and humor. | 2/14/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

Buyers Meeting Point: Addressing the Talent Gap in the procurement Profession - Feb 14,2011 | One possible explanation for finding more manager positions is that firms do not perceive the buyer position as important enough to advertise in the WSJ. Jackson’s(17) findings of narrow buyer job scope support the observation that most firms perceive the buyer role as a low level position. Results in Table 3 suggest that perceptions of the importance of the buyer role, measured by the percentage of ads for these positions in the WSJ, have not changed during the last three decades. Leaving the potential debate surrounding the veracity of the methodology used to reach the conclusions for another day, the fact that the results indicated that a buyer in the traditional sense is perceived to have little if any organizational value, is not a view that is limited to this study. Back in August of 2007, I wrote an article titled “Procurement’s expanding role and the executive of the future,” in which I reported the findings from a CPO Agenda Roundtable discussion involving senior procurement personnel from multinational organizations. Overall it was an incredibly pertinent exchange of ideas and experiences, making the article a worthwhile read even 4 years later. However, and in relation to today’s show, one statement that seemed to sum up the general sentiments was the recognition that while there is going to be a continuing need for what was referred to as “low-level” buyers, “one strategic business thinker with the right skills and capabilities is worth 10 or 12 of your normal, run-of-the-mill purchasing people.” Think about that for just moment as you reflect on your career in purchasing. Then ask yourself if you have been equipped with the necessary skill sets to be a strategic contributor or just a run-of-the-mill disposable resource for your present organization. Today's guests from Buyers Meeting Point, Cindy Allen-Murphy and Kelly Barner join me to talk about what their organization is doing to help to address this gap in skill sets. | 2/14/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

Can The Health Care Industry Be Trusted? - Feb 04,2011 | With the recent news that the study linking autism to vaccines being called a hoax, and criminal charges being laid against pharmaceutical companies such as GlaxoSmithKline for knowingly selling placebo anti-depressants and tainted baby, the public's growing cynicism regarding the health care industry is understandably growing. Admid the now on-going battle in the political arena regarding last year's legislative reforms that will extend health coverage to include 10 million more people over the next decade, it is becoming downright impossible to effectively navigate the murky waters of the modern world of medicine. Good thing we have a resident health care expert Jeff Knott, author of the appropriately titled book "Navigating The Healthcare Maze" to clear away the obfuscating haze of an industry seemingly gone awry. Jeff joins us this evening to talk about these recent revelations and what they mean from a practical, everyday standpoint. | 2/3/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

Is Survivor and Big Brother Ruining The American Workforce? - Jan 26,2011 | Negativity is the number one productivity problem in the workplace. Signs of negativity include backstabbing, gossiping, power struggles and lack of teamwork. The end result is absenteeism, low morale and turnover. Joining me to discuss her seven tips for improving workplace relationships and reducing negativity is Marlene Chism author of the exciting (and very timely) new book "Stop Workplace Drama." Marlene, who is also the author of the Stop Your Drama blog, works with professionals who want to clean up the drama in their work life and personal lives. Drama according to Marlene, is the leak in the boat, the rock you get stuck on, the fog that adds to your confusion. Drama is what happens in the gap between where you are and where you want to be. In short, drama belongs on your television and not in your workplace. Whether an employee dealing with a bully or, a boss trying to motivate the workforce, this is a 60 minute segment that you will want to hear! | 1/25/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

Ten Big Ideas: Virginia Shifts the Paradigm in Government Procurement Policy - Jan 25,2011 | As indicated in my Procurement Insights post of January 18th, the Interim Report from the Governor’s Supplier Diversity Advisory Board provides both an interesting (and yes timely) review of procurement policy and practice in Virginia. While the document, which is 42 pages in all, does in fact drill down into critical areas including; Certification, Marketing and Outreach, Bonding and Capital Access as well as Procurement itself, it is centered on what is referred to as the “Ten Big Ideas.” Today I will be joined by an expert international guest panel, who will provide us with their take on these ten big ideas in the context of not only Virginia’s vision and objectives but also from the standpoint of similar undertakings in other governments. The Guest Panel includes: public sector experts and authors Judy Bradt and Mark Amtower from the United States, and 30 plus year UK public sector veteran Colin Cram, whose seminal paper Towards Tesco - improving public sector procurement continues to draw significant attention resulting in Cram appearing before the House of Lords Science and Technology Committee to offer his views on innovation through procurement. The House of Lords report will likely be released sometime over the next few months. | 1/25/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

Reality is Boring - China is Better! A Tale of Business in the New World! - Jan 21,2011 | A modern but timeless global business story in the spirit of James Clavell, China Fortunes is a vast and sweeping tale addressing one of todays hottest topics - doing business in China. Taking readers on the ground from Chinas early opening up to current times, the book traces the changes of fortune and cultural edification of Jack Davis, an America Financier lured by the spectacular promise of the confusing land, from early success and a meteoric IPO that seems too easy, to treachery and loss, and triumphant financial and emotional renewal. Drawing on the experiences of one of the first western entrepreneurs and investment bankers to do business in China, this exciting tale makes you hold your breath, hoping for fortune but risking it all, taking the same gamble facing every business person visiting the Middle Kingdom since Marco Polo. "Reality is disappointing, Jack," the book explains. "China is better." Joining me this afternoon to talk about his epic work is of course the author of China Fortunes John D. Kuhns. | 1/21/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

Unfriendly Skies: How Safe Is Air Travel? - Jan 21,2011 | I get no kick in a plane, Flying too high, with some gal in the sky is my idea of nothing to do . . . The above lyrics speak volumes as to how the majority of people view air travel today . . . basically a necessary part of increasingly globalized careers in which clients are more likely to be in another part of the world versus being around the corner. However, and regardless of how air travel has become as natural as taking to the highways in a car, there are nonetheless sobering moments that give one pause for thought as it relates to our safety in the air. Putting aside for a moment the fact that I scheduled this show the day following a Mayday marathon which investigates and chronicles the myriad of factors that collectively link to form a tragic chain, as well as a Frontline Special titled Flying Cheap, which "provides a glimpse into the lives of regional airline pilots," if we are honest with ourselves there are moments when we all feel an ephemeral ping of reservation when we contemplate taking flight in a heavier than air, winged cylinder. In this episode of the PI Window we will welcome retired Airbus A-300 Captain Kimber C. Turner to talk about the airline industry providing what we hope will be a previously uncharted course into understanding how air travel has changed over the years and, what we can expect in the future. | 1/20/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

The Bruised and Battered Love: Relationships After Divorce? - Jan 18,2011 | I was sitting with a friend in the Gryphon Tea Room yesterday, having scones and orange pekoe tea, when she said something that stunned me. She said, "When youre divorced, it you dig deep enough, theres always that tender spot." I thought about how we can wall it off, compartmentalize, steer away from it, how we can hate the one that left, feel the pain, how we try to shake it off, but curled up in the corner, hidden out of the light, is the bruised and battered love. What do we do with that? So wrote Vikki Stark in her October 22, 2010 Psychology Today article titled "The Bruised and Battered Love. When couples separate whether through matrimonial divorce or common law severance, there is to varying degrees feelings of loss, anger, sadness, abandonment and yes, even hatred. This is hardly the foundations for moving forward in life let alone in a new relationship. Exacerbating the situation further is the fact that the starting point for the now broken relationship was already in trouble as the majority of people are not prepared to share their lives with someone else according to our relationship expert, and tonights guest Dr. Jackie Black. According to Dr. Jackie, most of us lack the self-awareness or emotional intelligence to be in a proper relationship with ourselves yet, off we go into the wild blue yonder of sentimental romance. When the relationship fails, our original views of the perfect union do not change and so we continue to carry the baggage that is unrealistic expectations, doomed to repeat our behavior and ultimately relationship tragedy. So what do you do? How do you see beyond the obfuscated haze of sadness and disappointment to take a long, honest look at ourselves? How do we learn from our past heartbreak so as not to repeat history? Tonight we find out. | 1/17/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

Whenever we read about brave and selfless professional law enforcement officers who, in relative obscurity die in the line of duty keeping us safe, we cannot help but feel a collective sense of sadness for a life lost too soon. Why do these things happen, especially under the somewhat unusual circumstances of being run down by a shoeless man driving a snowplow? Selling to the Government: Competing in the World's Largest Market - Jan 11,2011 | On the PI Window on Business’ second show back in April 2009 I welcomed along with McEvoy Galbraeth and Anne Phillips, Stephen Bauld who at the time was Vice President for the Ontario General Contractors Association and author of the books “Leadership Or The Lack Thereof” and “The Municipal Procurement Handbook (two editions).” Of the many great topics that we covered during the 30 minute segment, what still stands out is Stephen’s comment regarding his Leadership book. Specifically that he had originally anticipated that sales would likely be confined to “his family and a few close friends.” Well he did a little bit better than that as the book became a strong seller, something he had attributed to the paucity of procurement books on the market at the time. Of course notwithstanding a limited selection in the category, Stephen’s book did well because it was well researched and equally well written. Jump ahead to 2011, and I am excited to say that the availability of books regarding procurement has kept pace with the market’s recognition that purchasing is not simply an adjunct of finance, but a critical strategic tool for both private and public sector entities. This is especially true in the public sector, where purchasing is also being viewed as an economic driver as much as it is a means by which to support the government’s ability to deliver services to the public. One of these new books, which I have referred to as being an essential must read bookend for any book shelf . . . in short, if you do not have these two books, then you have a gaping hole in your library, is Mark Amtowers “Selling To The Government (What It Takes To Compete And Win In The World’s Largest Market).” Joining me this afternoon to talk about his book and why its release coincides with the monumental shift in how governments do business is Mark Amtower. | 1/11/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

Made-in-Transit Packaging is Innovative, but is it practical? Time Magazine thought so! - Jan 11,2011 | Most fresh food comes with a “best before” date, but Amsterdam-based Canadian designer Agata Jaworska thinks it should be marked “ready by.” Her concept: packaging in which food can keep growing during shipping to the supermarket so that it arrives ready to be harvested, in a state of optimum freshness. from Made-in-Transit Packaging, TIME’s picks for the top innovations of 2008 must admit that when I first came across the Made-in-Transit concept it was through a video – which by the way is very well done in that it is unique, distinguishable and without a doubt memorable. The premise behind Made-in-Transit is fairly straight forward in that certain perishable goods could be distributed more reliably from a quality standpoint while simultaneously reducing the costs associated with current “preserve” methods of production and distribution. What is also interesting is that the visionary genius behind the concept Agata Jaworska, has demonstrated a rare character trait in that she not only acknowledges detractors of her idea but welcomes their input. More specifically, in a December 7th, 2007 article titled “Made in Transit: The end of the factory?” she openly acknowledges the fact that experts from the world of academia and industry have raised valid questions regarding potential problems such as the impact of vibrations during transport on mushrooms at various stages of growth. I am happy to say that Agata will be joining us today via telephone from Amsterdam to talk about her acclaimed vision and what she foresees in terms of its ultimate implementation. | 1/11/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

UK Gov to Large IT/ERP Vendors "The Party's Over" - The Colin Cram Interview - Dec 26,2010 | Cabinet Office minister, Francis Maude, speaking at a meeting attended by 31 major government suppliers including BT, Hewlett Packard, IBM and CapGemini, claimed that large-scale bespoke IT systems -- many of which have gone significantly over budget in the past -- would henceforth be replaced by less expensive and "off the shelf" offerings. In this replay of an interview from the PI Inquisitive Eye TV Channel, I talk with 30 year public sector veteran and author of the seminal paper "Towards Tesco - improving public sector procurement" Colin Cram regarding the early December announcement by the UK Government that the days of over-arching, over-budget automation initiatives that have historically cost taxpayers tens of millions of dollar while failing to deliver the promised savings is over. Does this spell the end for large IT/ERP vendors, as the leaner and more technologically advanced Software-as-a-Service "SaaS" vendors move up the chain in terms of being viable alternative? Colin will provide his take on this as well as other questions. | 12/26/10 | Free | View In iTunes |

Is Your Spouse Committing Financial Infidelity? - Dec 22,2010 | Financial infidelity is a term used to describe the secretive act of spending money, possessing credit and credit cards, holding secret accounts or stashes of money, borrowing money, or otherwise incurring debt unknown to one’s spouse, partner, or significant other. Adding to the monetary strain commonly associated with financial infidelity in a relationship is a subsequent loss of intimacy and trust in the relationship. Financial infidelity appears to be on the rise, with a 2005 study showing that 30% of respondents had lied about financial information and 25% had withheld information, whereas a 2008 study showed that half the respondents had committed some form of financial infidelity. Fast forward to the present and according to a December 7th, 2010 CNN report at least 80% of spouses conceal or hide purchases from their significant other. Regardless of whether it is an outright lie or one by omission, coupled with a recent American Express Poll which indicated that “91 percent of those surveyed avoided discussing money issues with their spouse or significant other,” would seem to provide a clear indication that the state of “matrimonial business” is generally speaking in big trouble. Matrimonial business you might ask? Well according to Dr. Jackie Black, finances in marriage should be treated in the same manner as finances in business and, as such when two people tie the knot it is tantamount to the merger of two independent companies where full and honest disclosure is a legal pre-requisite as part of the due diligence process. During tonights 60 minute special, 3 couples will join Dr. Jackie on-line for 3 separate 15 minute couple-on-doctor sessions in which they will air their issues relative to financial indiscretions, with Dr. Jackie offering her insights and expertise on how they can take that all important first step towards a resolution and in the process regain lost trust. | 12/21/10 | Free | View In iTunes |

WikiLeaks: Cyber Threat or Cyber Freedom? - Dec 21,2010 | In April 2010, WikiLeaks posted video from a 2007 incident in which Iraqi civilians and journalists were killed by U.S. forces, on a website called Collateral Murder. In July of the same year, WikiLeaks released Afghan War Diary, a compilation of more than 76,900 documents about the War in Afghanistan not previously available for public review. In October, the group released a package of almost 400,000 documents called the Iraq War Logs in coordination with major commercial media organisations. In November 2010, WikiLeaks began releasing U.S. State department diplomatic cables. (Source: Wikipedia) Question . . . is this truly a violation of national security and is thus an act of espionage or, does it fall under a freedom of information type act based on the publics right to know? Joining me to answer this as well as other questions is Richard Stiennon author of Surviving Cyber War and the security blog ThreatChaos.com. The Tender Years Doctrine: A Free Pass For Unfit Mothers To Manipulate The Courts? - Dec 20,2010 | “The tender years doctrine suggests that “where a child is of such tender age as to require the care and attention that a mother is especially fitted [sic] to bestow upon it, the mother, rather than the father, is presumed to be the proper custodian, unless for some reason she is unfit for the trust.”48 This presumption ultimately established a maternal preference in the twentieth century, where, absent a showing of unfitness, the mother automatically received custody of children below a certain age. Putting aside the fact that this is a direct violation of the Equal Protection Clause in the Fourteenth Amendment of the U.S. Constitution, one cannot help but wonder if this skewed view of parental capability leaves the courts vulnerable to manipulation by women with a hidden agenda? One case that immediately comes to mind is that of a successful dentist living in Florida about whom we will be talking this evening. Joining me this evening to talk about this case as well as "the tender trap" doctrine in general is renown criminal profiler Pat Brown and The Cop Doc Richard Weinblatt. | 12/19/10 | Free | View In iTunes |

Fleecing Hearts and Wallets: How Conmen and Con Women Steal More Than Hearts - Dec 17,2010 | W5 continues its investigation of a serial swindler who left a trail of broken hearts and empty pocketbooks right across Canada and cashed in on a sick teenager, but will the diva of deception have to pay the price? The above is from a November 2010 W5 broadcast regarding Caron Oderbien, who has reported by the CTV program was the subject of a 10-month-long investigation. The pendulum of course swings both ways as men such as the infamous "Con Juan" Martin Berres, who pursued lovelorn women online only to swindle them out of their savings, was recently sentenced to2 1/2 years in a Manhattan court room. One can only assume that given the embarrassment of being fooled, we are only seeing the proverbial tip of the iceberg of what is likely a widespread problem, as the majority of victims opt not to come forward. But is this a relationship problem or a money problem (or perhaps a bit of both). Joining me this evening to talk about the fleecing of hearts is our relationship expert and author of the exciting new book "Couples and Money: Cracking the code to ending the #1 conflict in marriage" Dr. Jackie Black. | 12/17/10 | Free | View In iTunes |

Cybercrime, Insanity Pleas and the Right to Die: A Guest Panel Discussion - Dec 16,2010 | "However, and here is where there is considerable gray area, the law according to Wehrwein “doesn’t specifically address situations involving communication via the Internet.” This as it turns out is the basis upon which some legal experts (including Melchert-Dinkel’s lawyer Terry Watkins) have suggested that freedom of speech issues could play a role in the case." from August 26th, 2010 post "Cyber War and the Emergence of the Borderless Criminal: Why the Melchert-Dinkel Serial Killer Case Should Be a Slam Dunk . . . For the Prosecution" Despite the legal posturing in which everything from a violation of his First Amendment right regarding free speech, to the apparent vagueness of Minnesota's assisted suicide law being thrown at the courts by William Merlchert-Dinkel's attorney Terry A. Watkins, it has all boiled down to what is tantamount to the equivalent of a Hail Mary pass in football . . . an insanity plea. As outlined in my November 5th post "Melchert-Dinkel Insanity Plea Not Likely To Succeed (But Did He Counsel Children In Taking Their Own Lives?)," there are numerous reasons why the insanity plea is unlikely to be successful. And even though I can hear my grandmother’s admonishment that one should never count their chickens before they hatch, I wanted to examine the far-ranging consequences of a conviction including its impact in terms of establishing legal precedence within the virtual realms of the Internet and, the lingering effect it will likely have on the right to die and assisted suicide laws both domestically as well as globally. In this 60 minute special in which I will be joined by a guest panel that will include NCR Distinguished Professor of Law and Technology, Susan Brenner, we will peel back the layers of what are the seemingly contradictory elements of a complex case and assess the impact that a conviction (or acquittal) will have on our laws and personal rights and freedoms. | 12/15/10 | Free | View In iTunes |

When it absolutely, positively, has to be there overnight but . . . - Nov 30,2010 | Funny thing about the famous tag-line for Federal Express is that back in the early 80's when it was first used, the thought of limited or reduced capacity was never even a question. Back then we were more concerned with fuel shortages and rising costs associated with what was called the second oil or energy crisis of the decade (the first occurred in 1973). The potential repercussions of this second crisis, which threatened to permeate all levels of American society one way or another, was so troubling that papers such as the one authored by J.N. Hooker in 1980 titled "EFFECT OF A SUDDEN FUEL SHORTAGE ON FREIGHT TRANSPORT IN THE UNITED STATES: AN OVERVIEW," sought to find solutions before the situation escalated beyond a manageable point. Getting a shipment from point A TO Point Ba was a capacity problem in terms of fuel shortages. Fast forward to 2010, and the economic crisis coupled with the increasing globalization of supply chains presented an entirely different challenge from the late 70s and early 80s. Specifically, while fuel is generally accessible at a more manageable price than it was during the energy crisis, capacity or a shortage if you will in different areas - people and fleet size this time around - presents new challenges with similar consequence relative to service levels. While many may consider this to be a different dog with the same fleas, this afternoon I am pleased to welcome to the show ADR North America's COO Dave McClimon who will talk about what this latest capacity decline means, how it is different from the energy crisis of yesteryear and, what you can do to manage a viable outcome. | 11/30/10 | Free | View In iTunes |

When I first spoke with June Kittay I must admit that I was caught off guard by her sheer energy of spirit and sunny demeanor that is more reminiscent of a woman in her 30s . . . 40s tops, and not one who just this year turned 60! The CEO of Tampa Bay Bodies and author of two books, "Tips by Kittay" and Creator of "Emerging thru Movement" June is a familiar face through countless media appearances and videos whose appeal knows know age and impact no boundaries. As Wholesome as Mom and Apple Pie . . . Make That Cake! - Nov 26,2010 | Working on stories such as the pending trial of the Serial Suicide Killer, drug company wrongdoing and bullying in our schools, I always consider it a great find when I come across a story that demonstrates the better angels within all of us. One such angel is Wireacake or, to be more specific, Wireacake’s founder Debora George. Debora George, a hard working mother of three, started her own telecake business in 1987, which was when the Internet was little more than a bulletin board of untamed limitless potential . . . does anyone remember Compuserve? Today, Debora now sends cakes to soldiers overseas from her hometown of Huntington Beach, CA, which to the brave men and women who serve our country must be like those cherished packages we eagerly waited to receive from home during our childhood days at summer camp. Kind of like a warm hug that says we are thinking about you and are counting the days until you are back home with us. With Thanksgiving and Christmas just around the corner, I am sure that one of Debora’s delectable cakes would lift the holiday spirit of a friend or loved one serving overseas. Join me as I welcome Debora George to the show. | 11/26/10 | Free | View In iTunes |

Procurement Blind Spots (Virginia Forum 2010) - Nov 25,2010 | The complex nature of some RFPs and IFBs can lead to blind spots in the procurement process. The challenge is being able to recognize blind spots before they compromise outcomes. This workshop focuses on how and why we develop blind spots that may impede our ability to adapt or learn in complex and uncertain procurements. Attendees will recognize the importance of the procurement reconnaissance needed in the decision making process and explore creative techniques to avoid potential blind spots. Broadcasting Live from the Commonwealth of Virginia’s Forum 2010 at the Hampton Roads Convention Center, in beautiful Hampton, Virginia November 15th to 17th, 2010, this segment features Alan H. 50s and 60s Television: What Were We Thinking? - Nov 24,2010 | A funny thing time . . . what was once accepted as being a normal part of everyday life is today viewed as being out of step, misinformed and yes, even offensive. While those of us who remember the early days of television, when our window on the world expanded for the first time beyond our own neighborhood into a much bigger world, we thought nothing of these commercials when they first aired. Of course back then, even waking up to the test pattern (which featuring and Indian Chief’s headband itself would rile our sensibilities today), and the concept of a picture being transmitted over the invisible airwaves made pretty much anything and everything worth watching. To those of the younger “more informed” generations that followed, we would merely ask without apologizing for our naive viewing habits, that you consider these factors as you view early television through the eyes of your (and I hate to admit this) grandparents. Joining me this evening to talk about branding then . . . and now, is the incomparable Dr. John Tantillo, whos new book "People Buy Brands Not Companies" is the seminal guide to building and maintaining a strong image and presence in the virtual world. | 11/23/10 | Free | View In iTunes |

The Evolution of the American Family: A Blended Constellation - Nov 20,2010 | What Is A Blended Family? A blended family is where a child from a previous relationship is included in the family created by a new marriage. Yes, it only takes one child from one parent to be a blended family. Of course, as you add more children from different previous relationships, the complexity increases dramatically. According to this evening's guest Dr. Jackie Black, step families are now defined as one partner having a child or children and the other not having any children. Blended families are now defined as both partners having one or more children and “blending” their families of procreation with one another’s. There are many complexities and challenges with both family constellations. The interesting thing is that the intact mother, father, child/children constellation no longer represents the majority of families in the US anymore. So what are the problems associated with this shifting familiar landscape. We will talk about it tonight on the PI Window on Business. | 11/19/10 | Free | View In iTunes |

True Profiler: Pat Brown Discusses The Smiley Face Murders - Nov 15,2010 | "There have been an alarming number of deaths where young men of college age are found in a body of water with a smiley face drawn nearby them. The killings are completely unconnected in most ways aside from the fact that most are completely unsolved and listed simply as accidental drownings. The thing connecting all of them is a sort of calling card that two investigators are suggesting is the link to all the drowned victims. The case is known widely as the smiley face killings. Currently there are some 40 suspected victims over 11 states." When criminal profiler Pat Brown first approached me about airing a segment on the Smiley Face Killers, I must admit that I had not heard anything of any real consequence about the case. Perhaps her breadth of knowledge and passion for her work is why Pat is without a doubt one of the top, if not the top criminal profilers in the world, and like other notorious unsolved cases, she wanted to tackle the subject head on. Now for the uninitiated, the Smiley Face killings as they have come to be called has captured the imagination of the public, gaining mainstream media attention in 2009 when Detectives Kevin Gannon and Anthony Duarte talked with Larry King about their investigation into the mysterious drowning death of college student Patrick McNeill back in 1997. Since 1997, a clear pattern of predatory behavior has emerged causing authorities to consider the possibility that the seemingly random drowning deaths of 40 (perhaps more) male college students is the work of a single killer or worse yet killers. In today's True Profiler segment, Pat will talk about the case in which which a happy or smiley face has been a consistent signature spanning many years and many states in a silent, yet terrifying embroidery of predatory opportunism. | 11/15/10 | Free | View In iTunes |

What on Earth? Inside the Crop Circle Mystery - Nov 10,2010 | For years, the crop circle phenomenon has both intrigued and baffled us all. Now Suzanne Taylor’s full length film, What On Earth? Inside Crop Mysteries (2009) explores the origins of crop circle and presents theories of their origin in an unbiased manner. It won the 2009 EBE Award for Best Feature Documentary at the UFO Congress Film Festival and was selected for the LA Femme Festival. With a deft creditability that elevates the crop circle phenomenon from a campy hobby for conspiracy enthusiasts, to a legitimate topic warranting meaningful discussion, Suzanne Taylor effectively tackles the age-old question "are we alone in the universe." Over the next hour I will be talking with Suzanne regarding her personal journey into the realms of what many would say is science (non)fiction, including what initially drew her to this particular subject and how her experiences during the making of the film influenced her views. | 11/9/10 | Free | View In iTunes |

Leveraging Six Sigma to Drive Supply Chain Efficiencies and Savings - Nov 09,2010 | In a November 4th, 2003 article by Next Level Purchasing's Charles Dominick titled "Purchaser's Introduction to Six Sigma," stressed that "As a purchaser, you can use the Six Sigma methodology in a variety of ways." This includes everything from "working with a supplier to improve the quality of parts that the supplier provides to you," to minimizing the "number of invoice discrepancies that your organization has to handle," and . improving "almost any purchasing process that has inefficiencies that cost your organization money." In short, and if properly applied, Six Sigma can drive efficiencies across an entire organizations procurement practice. Here we are seven years later and I wonder how much of what Charles described has actually been implemented by purchasing organizations and, in today's increasingly complex and global supply chain environments what would one define as the proper application of the Six Sigma principles. Enter into the picture acclaimed author and creator of the Integrated Enterprise Excellence or IEE corporate performance management system, Forrest Breyfogle III. Forrest will once again join us on the PI Window on Business Show to talk about the purchasing world and how IEE Six Sigma can be effectively applied to drive efficiencies and savings in the emerging global enterprise. | 11/9/10 | Free | View In iTunes |

From Farmville to Mafia Wars: Do More Faster is the Ultimate Entrepreneuer's Guide to Success - Nov 05,2010 | "While entrepreneurs come in all shapes and sizes, they all share the drive to do things that have never been done before, the belief that they can accomplish anything they put their minds to, and the need to get everything done as fast as they can. For a first time entrepreneur, this can be daunting, but TechStars is like a turbo rocket booster for the beginning of the journey." The above is an excerpt from the forward written by Internet Entrepreneur Mark Pincus for the book "Do More Faster: Techstars Lessons To Accelerate Your Startup." While many might not immediately recognize the name of Mark Pincus, anyone who has played FarmVille, FrontierVille and Mafia Wars on social networks such as Facebook or "has made an offer" that "can't be refused" over Twitter, is more than familiar with his company Zygna's social games. Referring to what he calls Zygna Speed, Pincus jumped at the opportunity to write the forward for the new book by high tech VC's Brad Feld and David G. Cohen because as he put it Do More Faster "is a concept that is close to my heart." Featuring experienced entrepreneurs or mentors as Pincus calls them, Do More Faster represents that unique spirit of collaboration based on a strong desire to see one another succeed that "ties all entrepreneurs together." What Feld and Cohen have in essence done is create the new "Great Game of Business" for the Internet Age, where entrepreneurs can learn how to move towards success at a speed that is faster than the speed at which information moves within the virtual realms in which they operate. Joining me today to talk about their breakthrough and breakout book are the authors of Do More Faster Brad Feld and David Cohen. | 11/5/10 | Free | View In iTunes |

Generational Learning: What is the Impact on the Purchasing Profession? - Oct 26,2010 | Bill McAneny, acclaimed author of the best-selling book ‘Frankenstein’s Manager’ which outlines why management training does not lead to better-performing managers, has embarked on writing a series on the way different generations learn, and its impact on the make-up of the changing workforce. In terms of procurement and supply management, this has significant consequences in that more graduating students have chosen the profession as a career and are therefore going to redefine the landscape in key areas including the RFP process, contract negotiation and risk management. Joining me to talk about the generational transformation of the way we learn and its impact on the business world is of course Bill McAneny. | 10/26/10 | Free | View In iTunes |

The Face of Bullying in America: What To Do If Your Child Becomes The Target of a Bully - Oct 24,2010 | Bullying can take on many forms including physical, emotional and verbal elements where there is a real or perceived “imbalance of power with the more powerful individual or group,” abusing those who are “less powerful.” What is interesting is that bullying has just recently been recognized and recorded as a distinct offence, which is a departure from the lighthearted view of college hi-jinx hazing portrayed in movies such as Animal House or a “boys will be boys” mentality that associates aggressive behavior with being a normal part of the adolescent experience represented by the character Flick in the Holiday favorite “A Christmas Story.” Unfortunately, and tragically as demonstrated by the Phoebe Prince case, normalcy or lighthearted reminiscences has little to do with the real-life pain that bullying can inflict. In fact a recent UK study found that between 15 to 25 children commit suicide every year as a direct result of being bullied. There have been many reasons cited as being at the root cause of why children bully including the belief that they themselves are being bullied at home by an older sibling or worse yet, a parent. However, the purpose of todays Special Sunday edition of the PI Window, in which I welcome five time New York Times/Wall Street Journal bestselling author Larry Winget, whose most recent book “Your Kids Are Your Own Fault” should be required reading in terms of getting to and addressing the most likely reason behind the bullying problem – bad parenting, and the author of Think Like A Black Belt Jim Bouchard, is to talk about what can and should be done if your child becomes a “target” of a bully. | 10/24/10 | Free | View In iTunes |

In Sickness and in Health: Caring For A Loved One - Oct 23,2010 | Caregivers face many challenges providing care at home. A wife caring for her husband may risk injury trying to move him or help him bathe or use the toilet. The financial impact is another challenge. The financial burden depends on who the informal caregiver is. For a spouse there is typically no financial cost since income and assets will be the same with or without a need for care. However, if a spouse offering informal care is employed and has to quit his or her job to provide care there is a significant impact on that family's finances. The above is from a March 9th, 2010 article titled "Caring For A Loved One At Home Can Be Challenging" by Randy Walden who touches on a subject that is the antithesis of the youthful images of love. Yet, like death and taxes, illness in varying forms afflicts many, especially in their senior years. It also creates a variety of challenges, especially for the caregiver from both an emotional and financial perspective. Helping us to navigate through the complex waters of loving and living in sickness and in health is Dr. Jackie Black. Dr. Jackie, whose deftness of sensitivity balanced with a pragmatic approach will shine a much needed light on an important relationship question . . . what happens if (and perhaps when) you or your partner become ill?, makes this a must hear segment on Blog Talk Radio. | 10/22/10 | Free | View In iTunes |

Keeping Pace With Wall Street: Changing The Investment Game Odds - Oct 22,2010 | “Wall Street’s winning ways continue, with the Dow, the S&P 500 and the Nasdaq coming off their highest closes since May 13.” Peter Schacknow, Senior Producer, CNBC Breaking News Desk Wow, thank you Peter Schacknow for this delightful news which benefits exactly who . . . Certainly not the majority of the people who took the proverbial financial bath through the numerous scandals and bad advice from professional advisors who are either ill-informed or more interested in their firms’ ability to make money versus their clients. In April we did two shows regarding the woes on Wall Street, which ironically have plagued the bastion of capitalism (and yes I am a capitalist), in terms of the historically poor returns the markets have delivered to average investors – which is the majority of us. That appears to have all changed thanks to Natalie Pace and her book "You vs. Wall Street." In her latest book, the author of "Put Your Money Where Your Heart Is" turns investment defeat into high return victory, and in the process taking the fight to Wall Street like never before. Joining me this evening to talk about her book, her vision and her desire to elevate both your investment game and outcome is none other than the incomparable Natalie Pace. | 10/21/10 | Free | View In iTunes |

Rosslyn Analytics: The Tipping Point of Market Transformation - Oct 18,2010 | “I believe the phrase “spend intelligence” to be misleading. To me, it sounds like a new take or sub-segment of business intelligence software applications which offer analytics and dashboard capabilities and sit on top of existing systems of record. The problem is that spend visibility and analytics is much more complex, requiring data cleansing, rationalization, classification and other efforts which go far beyond what is needed to gain insight into basic HR, financials, IT and other internal information, which fall cleanly in to the BI camp.” Compare the above rantings of an industry expert with the following headline from the October 12th, 2010 press release from Rosslyn Analytics which proclaims that "RA.Pid® Self Service enables customers to see every detail of their spend in five minutes" and "RA.Pid® re-sets industry’s average cost of acquiring spend visibility from $75,000 to $99." Why claims such as the ones being made in the Rosslyn press release would have led to catcalls and accusations of heresy by mainstream pundits who expressing similar opinions to the one referenced in the italicized opening paragraph, would refer to such assertions as being Madison Avenue Botox. In reality, and as outlined in my January 27th post titled "Rosslyn Analytics Adaptive Intelligence Reflects Scientific Principles," such claims are not only legitimate, but have to a certain extent been long overdue. Joining me to talk about his company's transformative SaaS technology, and how the landscape through its discontinuous innovation is forever changed is Rosslyn CEO Charles Clark. | 10/18/10 | Free | View In iTunes |
