Super Show, Terrible Tags

Le Show is terrific, but this podcast wrapper is terrible. The bit rate is lower than the KCRW stream, and each show is impossible to distinguish from each other as each is named "le Show" with no date appended. Just record the KCRW stream (found in Radio > Public in iTunes Source pane) using one of many stream recorder utilities and make your own file.

where's the music?

I'm really greatful to have Harry Shearer's great commentary back. Locally, there has been a lack of this sort of commentary since the local NPR station stopped carrying him. However, the music black out really diminishes the overall effectiveness of the show because it's the music that helps one understand Mr. Shearer's point of view. Other podcasts, including the Rhinocast, have music included. I think that when the music is an integral part of a show like this one, arrangements should be made to retain it.

Snore

Harry can be a damn funny guy. He can also be insanely relevant. His New Orleans show in the wake of Katrina is about as heartfelt a Valentine to his second home as one could possibly imagine. In fact, he still sounds shell-shocked during the taping. His interview with Marcia Ball was also just brilliant. But overall, these shows have become an endless screed against the administration and the war, and frankly, they're not funny. They're just tiresome. If Harry would get off his high horse and get back to the social satire that made this show utter genius (his interview with the Menendez Brothers' acting coach was unbelievable), it would make this 'cast worth subscribing to.
