Fantastic show
I am so tired of yelling in political discussion. Once people start, all rational discourse ends. To those people who keep saying that the title is misleading, get over yourself. Where else are you going to find a true conservative like Tony Blankley (who served in the Reagan Administration) really stand up for his conservative beliefs with true rational thought.. alongside the left wing Robert Scheer who honestly discusses things with Tony. Although they may disagree most of the time, their discussions never get so resentful that they are unwilling to admit where they agree. Arianna Huffington definitely comes in with pretty sharp criticism of the right wing, but she also relentlessly attacks Clinton and the Demorcratic party (often!). Also, Tony NEVER backs down from her or anyone else. It's refreshing to see STRONG commentators on BOTH sides!... not the daily massacre that is Hannity and Colmes.
Views on the News of the Week
I think this is the best of the weekly news roundup shows. One of the strengths is that there are no pushovers on either side; you truly do get a well stated position on all both the left and the right. The show isn't as strong though when there isn't at least three of the regulars.
This show in addition to Democracy Now are my favorites.
LR&C is a refreshing show to listen to because you get a chance to listen to different views. It is priceless when it comes to trying to understand the mind and reasoning of a view that you oppose. If you are a fair and patient person, you will find that even your opponents have legitimate reasons for their views (however strange they may seem at times).
