Definitely for intermediate to advanced learners
This is excellent material for practicing Chinese. I get more listening practice here than I ever did in my college Chinese classes. The speed of the speakers is slow and the pronunciation is very clear. The explanations of the new words is done nearly 98% in Chinese which really helps you think in Chinese rather than trying to translate in English. I recommend going to the website and getting the transcription and list of new words with explanation. Another good thing about this podcast is that they don't fill it up with a lot of unnecessary English or explanations of who they are or what you are supposed to do.
For more advanced learners
If you are a new learner, this is not the chinese podcast for you. If you have are an intermediate or advanced learner looking for a more immersive experience, this is a great opportunity to use your existing chinese to learn chinese.
Best intermediate program
This is probably the best intermediate chinese learning podcast available. After you've done with the beginning stuff, this is an excellent place to learn at the intermediate level and to prepare yourself to move to more advanced stuff. The best part is that the podcast is almost entirely in chinese. After explaining the new words in chinese, the host gives a few examples of using the new words in other context.
