Chinesepod introduced podcast language learning, JapanesePod perfected it

JapanesePod101.com host Peter Galante is very humble about his product; these daily, 8-14 minute podcasts that teach the Japanese language. He talks about the cast and crew of ChinesePod.com as the pioneers of the language learning podcast, and at one point talks about what an honor it was when his show was mentioned on the relatively-veteran podcast; but from a listener of both podcasts, Mr. Galante is being way too humble. JapanesePod101 is a fantastic language learning tool; something I would expect to (and would have) pay money to have access to. If you're interested in the langauge, please take a look at all the raving reviews surrounding this one. Take a second and click that 'Subscribe' button now, because you won't be disapointed. For the pure beginner, it is a great place to start. Each show is around 10 minutes long and goes through a dialogue and then goes in depth to explain the words -- a tried and true language learning method. But what makes the podcast excellent is how carefully Mr. Galante takes the listener through the language. Every new word is accompanied by several repeatings at varying degrees of speed, and even being broken down by syllable. What I especially like is how many of the hard-to-translate words are translated by native Japanese speakers. If you think "Yoroshiku" means "pleased to meet you," as it is often translated, you'll appreciate the depth that the various native-speaking co-hosts go into to explain the more abstract japanese words. But what stands out most of all is Mr. Galante's passion for the language, which shines through in every episode, where he seems genuinely excited to present the new material. It's refreshing to be taught by someone who loves to teach (and learn) the subject, and that is what we have here. I hope this program goes on for a long time, because I won't stop listening until it they stop coming.

I love this podcast!

Whenever I have some extra time, I listen to the Japanesepod101 cast-- it's easy and fun. Japanese is an extremely intimidating language for non-native speakers, but this podcast makes it much more approachable. I would definitely recommend it for anyone that is interested in learning conversational Japanese or is planning on visiting Japan anytime soon. I love the hosts, and the website has useful pdf files with the phrases written in English and Japanese.

Practical, friendly, powerful

In a sea of average podcasts, there stands a new entrant. Japanesepod101 is built on the principle of meeting our learning needs in a creative, innovative and powerful way. This team really cares about the quality of their offering and demonstrates a strong concern for their listeners. I am a beginning student of Japanese (for business purposes) and I have experimented with every resources imaginable (classes, flash cards, books, language CDs). Japanesepod101 has become my mentor for learning. Once you try this podcast, you will be addicted. The presenters are cheerful, caring and enthusiastic. Their website provides PDF files to supplement each broadcast. Well, I just gotta close by saying thank you to my new friends Peter-san and Sakura-san at Japanesepod101. Please keep up the good work! (Gambate kudasai!).
