If I ask my friend, I can get your mom in earlier. Park: For real? Kim: Yes. It's been a while since I've talked to her, so it's only possible if I can get a hold of her, but if I can, it shouldn't be a problem. I'm on good terms with her boyfriend as well. Don't forget to stop by KoreanClass101.com for more great Korean Language Learning Resources! KoreanClass101.com 여러분! ----English---- An-dong Hahoe Folk Village Everyone in KoreanClass101.com! This is Julia. Today we will be going to Gyeongsangbuk-do. The entire village of An-dong Hahoe Folk Village was designated as a UNESCO World Heritage site in 2010. It is said that both English Queen Elizabeth the Second and American President Bush came to Andong Hahoe Folk Village. As you can tell from the name "Hahoe," which is surrounded by the Nakdong River, traditionally built houses in the Joseon Dynasty style and thoughts of classical scholars remain more than in any other villages. This place has a long history as our country's representative scholarly village. There is a place where you can see Hahoe Village in one glance. This place, across the river from Hahoe Village, is called Buyongdae. You will find it if you cross the Nakdong River riding a ferryboat and climb up the mountain a little. If you go there, you can see all at once the entire Hahoe Village surrounded by the Nakdong River. Furthermore, it is said that scholars' games and boat fireworks are performed regularly here for visiting tourists. The Hahoe masks designated as national treasures are also very famous at the Andong Hahoe Village. They were derived from where the people who lived in this region put on masked plays, wearing these Hahoe masks and mimicking morality plays for a very long time. It is said that as these commoners put on Hahoe masks and danced mask dances, they expressed their suppressed feelings about society. When I talk about Hahoe masks, I remember making Hahoe masks in an art class in my middle school. After making | 1/31/12 | Free | View In iTunes |

Advanced Audio Blog S6 #15 - Top 10 Korean Tourist Destinations: Jeongdongjin | Learn Korean with KoreanClass101! Don't forget to stop by KoreanClass101.com for more great Korean Language Learning Resources! KoreanClass101.com 여러분! ----English---- Jeong-dong-jin Train Travel Hello. All in KoreanClass101.com! It's Julia. I introduced you to An-myeon-do in the Yellow Sea in Lesson 13. Today, I am going to introduce the East Sea of Korea. I am going to introduce the closest train station to the sea, Jeong-dong-jin. Jeong-dong-jin is located in Gangneung, and it is a place with an outstretched beach as you go down from Jeong-dong-jin Station, and it is a place where people go to see the sunrise. Although there are several methods of getting to Jeong-dong-jin, such as by car, bus, etc., among those, I would like to recommend that you go by train. As I said at first, Jeong-dong-jin is the closest train station to the sea, so going by train is very convenient. There are trains going to Jeong-dong-jin Station from Seoul Cheongnyangni Station every hour. And because there is a night train that departs at eleven at night and arrives at about five, it is very convenient, especially for the people who are taking a sunrise trip. It is a perfect time for seeing the sun rise. If you arrive at five and wait, you can see the sunrise. However, you absolutely must check the weather forecast before going, in order to see the perfect sunrise. The sun rises every day, but it is not easy to see a perfect sunrise. It might be impossible to come up with a new idea by next week. Who'll be doing the presentation? Kim: Lee, would you like to take responsibility (take a gunstock?) I've done it a lot, so I know it'll be boring. Lee: Eh? I know you've had a lot to drink. It is beyond my ability. Kim: Try it once. Your ability will be recognized. Lee: Instead of that, why don't you take responsibility (take a gunstock) and ask the director give more time? Kim: Would that be better? Actually, it is not possible to get a new idea within a week. Lee: That's what I'm talking about. Well...he is not like the director of the other team, who'd be rude enough to say "Are you out of mind? (Have you got a gunshot in your brain?)". Kim: Let me think about it more. Actually, I've already talked with a CEO whom I know about the new idea. KoreanClass101.com 여러분! ----English---- The West Sea and An-myeon-do Hello, all in KoreanClass101.com! It's Julia. When you feel depressed or confused, where do you want to go? If you ask this question to any Korean, half of them would say that "I want to go see the seaside." Today, I am going to talk about the sea and Anmeyondo, which is the closest sea to Seoul. One day, I was depressed, so I called my friend. I said, "Let's go see the beach." Then, we departed from Seoul at twelve o'clock and arrived at Anmeyondo at three in the afternoon. On the way, actually, we spent some hours at the Seohaean rest stop. You cannot miss rest stops on a trip. Right after arriving in Anmeyondo, we went to the Anmeyondo forest lodge to take a rest for a little bit. I really felt my brains had been refreshed after smelling of pine scents as if I were taking a "forest bath." When we got out of the forest with a refreshed mind and went to the seaside, the tides were about to start going out. The time for the ebbing tide on the west coast is different day by day. After the tide ebbed, a wide beach had been formed. The very first time my friend and I saw the beach, we went around with bare feet. Top Knotch Korean
I've been living in Korea and studying the language for a year and a half. This is easily one of the best websites for learning Korean. It is certainly one of the most comprehensive Korean language podcasts. Come learn Korean as it is ACTUALLY SPOKEN in Korea!
One of the best ways I've learned Korean
I have been trying to learn Korean in a long period without any kind of base or starting point. After finding KoreanClass101 online, I listened to their podcasts, and now, I have been more eager and determined to learn the language. :) The podcasts are helpful and are fun to listen to. They even have notes that you can look at on your iPod, while following the lessons. This is definitely a good start to learn Korean. It's definitely helpful =D!
Great for beginners
I'm also using RosettaStone, this is a totally different, yet just as helpful experience. This podcast gives me the real world usage of words in a format I can understand, with just the right amount of humor to keep me engaged.
