Learning Solutions for Today’s Workforce - Generation X | You can build a better relationship with this Generation if you give them credit for their independence and intelligence. They are survivors, innovators, explorers, and someone who can challenge your paradigms - something that is necessary in the business world of today. Acknowledge their need to be recognized, appreciated, and rewarded. Tap into their technological knowledge and expertise - they want to contribute and share, but like to be asked to do so. This can benefit you both professionally and/or personally in a relationship with someone in Generation X. | 5/26/06 | Free | View In iTunes |

Learning Solutions for Today's Workforce - Boomer Generation | The Boomer Generation, the largest generation in history, was born between 1946 and 1964. They represent the largest percentage of our current workforce - and occupy the most managerial positions as well. They invented the 60-hour work week and "live to work". We will explore this generation so that we can better understand, communicate and collaborate with them in the workforce or just in relationships. The Boomer generation is one that you want to be very careful to “generalize” about…they are a “I want it” generation, but there is a large part of this generation that bought what they wanted, but could not afford it…and retirement is approaching soon (though, they will continue to work in order to afford the lifestyle they have created for themselves, but may not be able to afford in retirement). | 2/21/06 | Free | View In iTunes |

Learning Solutions for Today's Workforce - The Veteran Generation | This Podcast focuses on the Veteran Generation and explores what events shaped their ethics, habits, expectations and attitudes. We then go further to see how these relate to their learning, communication, and work style today. This generation was born prior to 1945. Though they only represent a small percentage of the workforce today, they are our consumers. Their core values include: dedication, sacrifice, hard work, conformity, law and order, respect fro authority, patience, delayed reward, duty before pleasure, adherence to rules, and honor. | 2/1/06 | Free | View In iTunes |

Learning Solutions for Today's Workforce - Welcome Podcast | This Podcast gives an overview of the series which will focus on generational differences and generational experiences as it relates to understanding, communication and collaboration in the workforce. We have four distinct generations in the workforce today - the Veterans, the Boomers, Generation X and the Nexters - something that is causing havoc with managers trying to mold this hodge-podge of ages, faces, values and views into a productive collaborative group. Each of these generations are distinctly different - shaped by the political and sociological events of their childhood. They think differently. They interpret information differently. They communicate differently. Yet, they must work together in a collaborative environment in the workplace. This Podcast will explore understanding how to accomplish this task... “Treat others as they want to be treated, not as you wanted to be treated, because they are not you and you are not them!” Please give us feedback on each Podcast at learningsolutions@mac.com. We want to address these workforce issues as they apply to you! | 1/25/06 | Free | View In iTunes |
