Legends Podcast is great, perfect for geeks who just want to have fun
I came to Legends Podcast through Galactic Watercooler, which is my favorite podcast. That should give you a clue whether Legends Podcast is for you (go read through GWC's 4+ years of reviews and see if it seems like your bag). John D. is a great host--he is charming and funny. He has worthwhile things to say, too. I have particularly enjoyed the Star Trek arc. Gen is the best of his rotating cast of cohosts--she is obviously smart and I enjoy the different topics and tangents she raises. I also tend to enjoy hosting teams that include more than one gender, regardless of what the cast is about. It's partly the different perspectives that come into play in those situations, but the aural variety is also more engaging.
One thing that I particularly like about Legends Podcast is that it's got a social feel to it--like they are recording these casts as their half of a conversation. I can picture them recording with a beer in hand, just after hanging out on the couch for a few hours gaming or watching the movie/show they are going to discuss.
The Doctor Who arc is what moved this cast from 4 stars to 5 stars--I am only a very casual Dr. Who fan but John D and Gen's enthusiasm is catching. I've started watching them in order now. Just what I need--another podcast that introduces me to new things that eat up my time!
For people who are considering subscribing--do it! But don't start with the earliest casts. Like most podcasts, it took them a few rounds to really get their sea legs. Once you've become a fan, go back and listen to the Space Balls cast (#1)--it will amaze you how well they have mastered the medium in such a short time!
Geeky Fun with Friends
Legends Podcast is a great podcast to listen to for the simple enjoyment of having a good time. It's funny and good-natured. Not very informative but doesn't strive to be journalistic. If you are looking for a podcast where you feel like you're in a close circle of friends, this is the podcast to listen to!

Love this podcast! The hosts are so much fun to listen to. John & Gen always seem to have fun & compliment each other. Its like listening to the conversations I have with my friends. If you're a hardcore nerd, you'll enjoy this show. They talk about everything from Indiana Jones to Dr. Who. They even throw in a little bit of video games.
