Episode 1 – Secret Origins | In 1958, Adventure Comics 247 first hit the stands and brought us a new team of superheroes. They were from the future, had really cool jet packs and had their names written on their chests. They grew into a truly huge superteam and established a long and storied legacy, with many characters, and a universe that seemed to have no limits. Now, 50 years later, Paul French, Ric Croxton and Darren Nowell, all Legion fans for many years, unite to help clarify the continuity, and talk about how much they love the Legion. In this episode, Paul, Ric and Darren share the origins of their own Legion fandom, and delve into the biographies of the first three Legionnaires, Cosmic Boy, Saturn Girl and Lightning Lad (who was called Lightning Boy in the first issue) and also of the creators of the Legion, starting with Otto Binder and Al Plastino. Join us for discussion of the first Legion story. The history of the future begins here! WARNING: Here be spoilers! This story may have come out 50 years ago, but we go in depth and in detail. Long Live the Legion!
I just recently stumbled onto this Podcast while looking at other comic related Podcasts. I have been a Legion fan for a long time, and it is really awesome to listen to a Podcast that is just about the Legion. The guys do a fantastic job with their reviews. I also love the Legion history that they go into on the show. I have learned a lot of things and recalled things I had forgotten. Keep up the good work! I'm glad I found you!
Ka-THOOM!
A fantastic podcast, combining the love of revisiting favorite old comics with appreciation of the new. These four guys have a great chemistry, and with the recent revitalization of the Legion of Super-Heroes franchise, this is a must-listen for old and new Legion fans alike. And if you're not a Legion fan, you will be after just a few episodes of this great show. Wonderfully entertaining!
Great podcast
Anyone interested in the Legion of Superheroes would do well to check out the podcast. The guys' annotated synopses of issues past and present make for great entertainment and fill in any gaps most Legion fans undoubtedly have had over the years.
