Podcast Description
Every Supreme Court decision that has shaped our nation's history -- and that will guide its future -- started out as a disagreement between people. As human drama. As conflict. The law is exciting, entertaining, even soulful. But you wouldn't know it from the boring articles you read in the paper, or the dry segments you see on the nightly news. Somewhere between the courthouse and your house, the law has lost its luster... until now. On Lex Appeal, we won't just tell you what the court decided, but HOW it decided. We won't just tell you what law Congress just passed, but how that law came to be. Simply put, we'll explain how the law really works. And we'll have fun doing it. Who ever said the law isn't sexy?

Lex Appeal 2: Breastfeeding and the Right to Go Topless | The mega social networking site, Facebook, has recently come under fire for taking down breastfeeding photos which it deems obscene. This has led to massive online protests and has put a modern twist on an old question: Do women have a right to breastfeed in public? Does the Constitution have anything to say about the issue? For that matter, why can men walk around topless while women must remain covered? Does this all go back to long-held notions of what is indecent? And when you get down to the very heart of it, is this whole thing just one big argument over The Nipple? | 7/30/10 | Free | View In iTunes |

CleanEpisode 1: Animal Cruelty, Crush Videos and the First Amendment | In 1999, after learning about so-called "crush videos," the United States Congress passed a law banning all depictions of animal cruelty in interstate commerce. Five years later the first person ever was charged under this law for selling dog-fighting videos. Now, the Supreme Court is deciding whether or not this law violates the First Amendment to the Constitution. What are crush videos, anyway? And how does the Supreme Court decide what rights you have? Great
Truly a fascinating approach to law! Easy to follow and understand. Keep it up guys.
It's too sexy for a podcast..
Lex Appeal has found a niche in my podcast collection. Great for listening to in the car, easy enough to follow (and drive safely) and great for adding some new topics to water cooler conversations. Even though I follow politics closely Lex Appeal has nuggets of wisdom that can only come from knowing law like lawyers do, and delivering it with a dash of wit, humor, and banter that makes Lex Appeal one of few podcasts I actually wait for new episodes to come out with anticipation. Keep it up gentleman, it's very lexy...
Now that I'm hooked...
... you gotta keep me supplied! Thanks, guys!
