Podcast Description
In this novel (often mistakingly classified a children’s book) the main protagonist Buck, a St. Bernard/Collie mix, is abducted and sold to a trainer of sled dogs in Alaska. He adapts to the brutal conditions and is finally acquired by a loving man. When this new owner is killed, Buck follows the ‘call of the wild’ and joins a pack of wolves. (Summary written by Gesine)

Mediocre
To be honest I found that this Librivox recording was rather disappointing in some ways. The reader of the first 2 chapters/parts (male) was terrific, well spoken, good with tones, very in-depth, however that reader only read the first 2 chapters and the other 4 are all read by different (female) readers which might not matter if the change in tones weren't so noticable. In addition the Chapter/Part 5 section is so quiet that i can hardly hear it over the rain with the volume on my laptop and my itunes turned all the way up and its at such an odd place since none of the chapters before or after it have this problem which makes it all the more aggravating. In addition to the overall low volume in chapter 5 it also has an odd habit of increasing and decreasing in weird places, especailly when the characters yell (which in my opinion says a lot about the reader.) However you do have to take into account that this is a free audiobook and that all and all I'd say its worth the trouble of downloading just make sure that you have some speakers for chapter 5.
