Where am I going | What is God’s destiny and will? What is my calling, my purpose? God’s calling is both general (for everyone) and specific (for you). When I do what I know God wants me to do right now, then I end up knowing what He wants me to do later. | 5/20/12 | Free | View In iTunes |

2 |
Where am I | "For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago" (Eph. 2:10). God has wired you for a purpose; understanding your design can help you determine your purpose. | 5/13/12 | Free | View In iTunes |

3 |
Solitude and Silence | It's easy to feel guilty when we relax. We live in a driven culture where our worth is measured by our productivity and we often feel like we can't stop. The Spiritual disciplines of solitude and silence help us stop and pause for the purpose of creating space for God. "Be still and know that I am God" (Psalm 46:10). Jesus often withdrew to lonely places and prayed" (Luke 5:16). | 5/6/12 | Free | View In iTunes |

An Everyday Death | "If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me" (Luke 9:23). A follower makes a decision every day to take up his cross. “Yes Lord to anything, anytime, anywhere…no matter the cost.” | 4/29/12 | Free | View In iTunes |

5 |
A Total Surrender | "If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me" (Luke 9:23). A follower makes a decision every day to deny himself and choose Jesus. “Yes Lord to anything, anytime, anywhere. | 4/22/12 | Free | View In iTunes |

6 |
A Passionate Pursuit | "If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me" (Luke 9:23). Jesus calls us to “come after” Him with the same passion that we would pursue someone with whom we’ve fallen in love. | 4/15/12 | Free | View In iTunes |

7 |
Anyone (Easter) | Jesus is alive; He is not just a figure in history. And He calls us to follow Him. “If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me.” Who does He call? Anyone! We are talking about the radical inclusive call of Jesus to follow. Anyone means everyone. Anyone means you. | 4/8/12 | Free | View In iTunes |

8 |
Following Jesus or Rules | Fans follow the rules rather than Jesus; they depend on their own strength rather than the power of the Holy Spirit. | 4/1/12 | Free | View In iTunes |
|
9 |
One of many or one and only | Jesus said you must hate your own life and your own family in order to be my disciple. What did he mean? What is competing with Jesus for your devotion? Jesus doesn't want to be your first, he wants to be your only. | 3/25/12 | Free | View In iTunes |
|
10 |
Know Him | Fans know about Jesus, but followers know Him. Jesus never begged anyone to believe in Him; He commanded them to follow and set the bar high. Jesus is looking not for fans but for whole hearted followers. | 3/18/12 | Free | View In iTunes |
|
11 |
Decision or Commitment | Jesus never begged anyone to believe in Him; He commanded them to follow and set the bar high. A decision to believe in Jesus without a "I will follow commitment," produces a fan. | 3/11/12 | Free | View In iTunes |

Listen to God | God speaks through the Bible, through "the gentle whisper," and through people. God is speaking! Are you listening? If you want to hear God speak, learn to listen for His voice. | 3/3/12 | Free | View In iTunes |
|
13 |
Listen to your critics | Obviously, not everything our critics say is true and should be taken to heart. But our critics may tell us things that our friends may not. If you listen to your critics you will learn and grow; if you don’t, you miss out and may be hurting yourself and others. | 2/25/12 | Free | View In iTunes |

14 |
Listen to those you love | We often listen carelessly (or not all) to those we love the most. But listening to those you love has wonderful benefits! When Jesus was asked what was most important, He said, “Love the Lord your God with all you’ve got—all your heart, soul, mind and strength. And love your neighbor as yourself.” What’s most important? Loving God and loving people. Relationships. | 2/18/12 | Free | View In iTunes |

15 |
God Listens | Christianity is a relationship; God wants to have a conversational relationship with you! You speak and He listens. He speaks and you listen. | 2/12/12 | Free | View In iTunes |

16 |
Heaven | One of the core beliefs of the Christian faith is that this life is not all there is. There is life after death. There is heaven and hell. We’re going to focus on heaven: life everlasting with God. | 2/5/12 | Free | View In iTunes |

17 |
The Church and Sacraments | “What is the church?” and “What does the church do?” A handful of Jesus’ followers following his death have today turned into a phenomenon of a few billion we call the church! Upon receiving the Holy Spirit we see the church in Acts devoting themselves to the apostles teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and prayers. | 1/29/12 | Free | View In iTunes |

18 |
The Trinity | The Trinity is one of the most important doctrine of the Christian faith. It’s what defines Christianity as being “Christian.” The Bible shows us about the roles and unity of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, and what the implications are for our lives as followers of Jesus Christ. | 1/21/12 | Free | View In iTunes |

19 |
Creation | There's something about creation that points you back to God, every time. God's creation is breathtaking. God created the heavens and the earth. And everything should point us back to God. | 1/15/12 | Free | View In iTunes |
|
20 |
Faith and God | Faith is trusting in God. But that definition begs the question, who or what is God? While God cannot be incontrovertibly proven with reason or scientific experimentation, neither can atheism or a host of other things people believe. Christian faith engages both reason and a heart that longs for God. | 1/8/12 | Free | View In iTunes |
|
21 |
Jesus and Salvation | Why does Jesus get most of the press? He is the core, the center of the Christian faith. Jesus is what makes the Christian faith distinctly Christian. It’s all about Jesus—who He is and what He did. | 1/1/12 | Free | View In iTunes |

Nothing is Impossible with God | An angel told Mary she would conceive a baby without a man. What would you think? Impossible! But the angel said, "Nothing is impossible with God." Have you invited God into your impossibility? | 12/24/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

23 |
Better for us | The final verses of Hebrews 11 describes the kind of faith that gains great victories against overwhelming odds, and endures great suffering. It's about trusting God when it goes your way and when it doesn't. | 12/18/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

24 |
God's Boot Camp | The Israelites' exodus from Egypt and entry into the Promised Land was essentially God's boot camp for building a people who had faith in Him and faith in each other. And what they experienced has lessons for us as people of faith today. | 12/11/11 | Free | View In iTunes |
|
25 |
Moses Lived an Adventure | Moses exhibited high risk faith by trading in his position in the Egyptian court to be identified with the people of God, his Hebrew relatives. He risked everything to choose to side with God and God’s people. He traded safety, security, power and riches for disgrace and mistreatment! | 12/3/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

26 |
Abraham went | When God called Abraham to leave everything he knew and loved, Abraham went. Abraham is known as “the father of faith” because Abraham had faith that God would deliver the promises of land, children, and blessing. | 11/26/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

27 |
Noah: Build a Boat | Faith has two components: propositional and personal. Propositional: we believe something to be true. We believe that God exists and rewards those who seek Him. Personal: we believe someone to be trustworthy. We trust God and willingly do what He says. | 11/20/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

28 |
Owners or Renters | Many people treat Church like renters rather than owners. Owners are permanent; renters are temporary. Owners fix things; renters expect someone else to fix them. Owners are invested and care; renters have nothing invested and don’t care. | 11/13/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

29 |
Seekers or Saints | The church is not a rest home for saints, it is a rescue mission for sinners. God sends every Christian on the mission of seeking and saving the lost. | 11/6/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

Fan or Follower | There is lots of discussion these days about the American church. Is it dying? Is it filled with consumers of religious services rather than disciples of Jesus? Are we spectators on Sunday or are we participating in God’s Kingdom all week? Are we followers or fans? Jesus said, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself, take up his cross and follow me. For whoever would save his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life for my sake will find it.” | 10/30/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

Good Secrets | Jesus told us to do our acts of righteousness in secret. Give in secret; don’t let your left hand know what your right hand is doing. Fast in secret; don’t let anyone know. Pray in secret; go into your closet. God sees our good deeds done in secret and will reward them. These secrets will one day come to light, in God’s good time, and will be rewarded. | 10/23/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

32 |
Bad Secrets | Keeping a dark secret can consume you. Dark secrets lurk in the back of our souls, in the shadows, and gnaw on us. We are burdened by our secrets. And when you least expect it, they often come to light, and the fallout can be catastrophic. What do you do with your dark secrets? | 10/16/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

35 |
Choose the Hard Way | Jesus describes what life in the Kingdom looks like; He describes what He will do in us, what He will make of us, and what it looks like to live with Him under the reign of God. This week we look at Matthew 7:13-14, “Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it." | 9/25/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

Be the Change | Jesus describes what life in the Kingdom looks like; He describes what He will do in us, what He will make of us, and what it looks like to live with Him under the reign of God. Worry-free Living | Jesus describes what life in the Kingdom looks like; He describes what He will do in us, what He will make of us, and what it looks like to live with Him under the reign of God. This week we look at Matthew 6:25-34 “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes?" | 8/21/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

The End? | Luke 7:11-17 "Soon afterward, Jesus went to a town called Nain, and his disciples and a large crowd went along with him. As he approached the town gate, a dead person was being carried out—the only son of his mother, and she was a widow. And a large crowd from the town was with her. When the Lord saw her, his heart went out to her and he said, 'Don’t cry.' Then he went up and touched the bier they were carrying him on, and the bearers stood still. He said, 'Young man, I say to you, get up!' The dead man sat up and began to talk, and Jesus gave him back to his mother. They were all filled with awe and praised God. 'A great prophet has appeared among us,' they said. 'God has come to help his people.' This news about Jesus spread throughout Judea and the surrounding country." | 8/14/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

Wise in Your Choices | Jesus changes the way we think about money and things. We don’t live materialistic and acquisitive lifestyles—we don’t store up treasures on earth. We do store up treasures in heaven. We understand that money, things, materialism can cloud our vision and lead to spiritual blindness. | 8/7/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

42 |
God First Prayer | Matthew 6:5-18 “And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by men." Jesus changes our relationship with God and the way we pray. Jesus gives us the Lord’s Prayer, which is a model prayer in three ways. It is a prayer you can say, an example of prayer, and a pattern for prayer. It teaches us that prayer should be simple, short and natural. | 7/31/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

43 |
Generous with the Poor | Matthew 6:1-4 "Be careful not to do your ‘acts of righteousness’ before men, to be seen by them. If you do, you will have no reward from your Father in heaven.” Jesus changes the reason and the way we give. It is possible to care too much about what people think, and too little about what God thinks. Jesus makes it clear that we are to be generous with the poor and with God. | 7/24/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

New Kind of Love | Matthew 5:43-48 “You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ But I tell you: Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be sons of your Father in heaven." Love your friends, hate your enemies: this is the standard most live by. Jesus calls us to love our enemies and pray for them. He concludes that we are to be different and be like our Father in living out this radical love. | 7/17/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

45 |
Free from Retaliation | Matthew 5:38-42 “You have heard that it was said, ‘Eye for eye, and tooth for tooth.’ But I tell you, Do not resist an evil person. If someone strikes you on the right cheek, turn to him the other also." Jesus changes our hearts so that we relate to our enemies with love. Rather than retaliating, we love! An eye for an eye: this is the standard most live by. Jesus junks it and calls us to forsake retaliation. | 7/10/11 | Free | View In iTunes |
|
46 |
Being Honest | Matthew 5:33-37 "Again, you have heard that it was said to the people long ago, ‘Do not break your oath, but fulfill to the Lord the vows you have made.’ But I tell you, do not swear an oath at all." Jesus changes our hearts to live with simple, transparent honesty. Keep your promises; be a man or woman of your word. Be a person of integrity; be the same in public and private. Tell the truth! | 7/3/11 | Free | View In iTunes |
|
47 |
Sacred Marriage | Matthew 5:31-32 “It has been said, ‘Anyone who divorces his wife must give her a certificate of divorce.’ But I tell you that anyone who divorces his wife, except for marital unfaithfulness, causes her to become an adulteress, and anyone who marries the divorced woman commits adultery.” Jesus changes our hearts towards our spouse to make our marriage permanent. | 6/26/11 | Free | View In iTunes |
|
48 |
Being Free from Lust | Matthew 5:27–30 “You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall not commit adultery.’ But I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman with lustful intent has already committed adultery with her in his heart." Jesus changes our hearts about sex; He helps us tame our sexual lust. Jesus takes the command against adultery and extends it to our desires, to our looking and lusting. It is so important to cooperate with Jesus in controlling your lust and fantasies. | 6/19/11 | Free | View In iTunes |
|
49 |
Free From Anger | Matthew 5:21-26 “You have heard that it was said, ‘Do not murder, and anyone who murders will be subject to judgment.’ But I tell you that anyone who is angry with his brother will be subject to judgment." Jesus changes our hearts so that our tempers are tamed. Murder starts in the heart when we get angry or stay angry, so it’s our hearts that need to be changed. When relationships are harmed or broken, we are to take the initiative: go and be reconciled to your brother. We are to “settle matters quickly”; don’t let it simmer and get worse. | 6/12/11 | Free | View In iTunes |
|
50 |
Being Righteous | Matthew 5:17-20 “For I tell you that unless your righteousness surpasses that of the Pharisees and the teachers of the law, you will certainly not enter the kingdom of heaven." Jesus changes us from an external approach to goodness to a new and deeper righteousness: heart-deep. We can’t do it on our own. The best we can do, as good as we can possibly make ourselves, will never be good enough. We need God's righteousness; we need to be as good as He can make us. | 6/5/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

51 |
Salt and Light | Matthew 5:13-16 “You are the salt of the earth. You are the light of the world." Jesus changes us to make us influencers. God makes us “salty” to add flavor to the world and to be “preservatives”, agents of His salvation. Light enables us to see. As we do good in Jesus’ name, our light shines, and people will praise our Father. | 5/29/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

52 |
Peacemakers | Matthew 5:9-10 "Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called sons of God. Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven." Jesus changes us to make us peacemakers and willing to suffer for Him. Peacemakers address the real issues, initiate making peace, and own up. Peacemaking is God’s work. When you suffer for Jesus’ sake, you are blessed because you are identified with Jesus in His redemptive suffering for the world. | 5/22/11 | Free | View In iTunes |
|
53 |
Merciful and Pure | Matthew 5:7-8 "Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy. Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God." Jesus changes us to make us merciful and pure in heart. Mercy is feeling compassion for another’s suffering and then doing something to alleviate that suffering. Pure hearts are transparent before God; sincere and open. | 5/15/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

54 |
Meek and Hungry | Matthew 5:5-6 "Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth. Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled." Jesus changes us to make us meek and hungry for righteousness. Meekness is not weakness; it is strength under control; submitting to God and trusting Him. Righteousness is being right with God and doing what he wants. | 5/8/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

55 |
Humble and Repentant | Matthew 5:3-4 "Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted." Jesus changes us to make us humble and repentant. The first step is to realize that you can't do it alone, and that you need God! Second, we need to realize how spiritually bankrupt we are; to be sorry for our sin and to repent. | 5/1/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

Easter: Revolution | When God raised Jesus from the dead, He started a revolution. It's is far more radical than just being a nice person and going to church! Jesus started a revolution that would change the way we think, act, live and relate to God and each other. | 4/24/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

Give Me | There are very few things that will bring you more joy than being able to give to God or give to help others! Giving is fun! We'll talk about three kinds of giving that Christians have practiced for 20 centuries: tithes, offerings, and sacrificial gifts. | 4/17/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

58 |
Free Me | When you borrow money, the lender owns part of you. You are not free to spend as you like, or save or give as you want. Choose to live on what you have, spend less than you earn, and don’t use debt to finance a lifestyle you can’t afford. | 4/9/11 | Free | View In iTunes |
|
59 |
Save Me | It is wise to save money for anticipated and unanticipated needs, but it is wrong to hoard, to be greedy and selfish. But what is the difference? When do you cross that line? We should remember that everything is God’s, manage it as He directs, and trust Him to provide for us. | 4/2/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

60 |
Spend Me | For most of us, money shouts, “Spend me!” It burns a hole in our pockets! But under the lordship of Jesus, money says, “manage me.” We’ll talk about establishing a reasonable standard of living, and living on less than we make. | 3/26/11 | Free | View In iTunes |
|
61 |
Serve Me | On its own, money cries, “Serve me!” Money is very important and we need it to live, but money makes a lousy god. We love God and we love people; we use money. Money is a tool, and how we handle it reveals our heart. | 3/19/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

To the Found | Our obligation is not only to the lost, but to the found; not only to share our faith with those who don’t know, but to pass on what we have learned about following Jesus with those who do know! It's connecting evangelism and discipleship. Our commitment to someone doesn’t end when they make a decision to follow Christ; that is only the first step of a life-long journey. | 3/6/11 | Free | View In iTunes |
|
64 |
To the Unconvinced | The Christian faith spreads from person to person to person. And all it takes is for one person to catch fire to start a wildfire. You might be that person. We’re talking about “Pass it on”, the vision of our church to reach our community and our world with the good news of Jesus. | 2/27/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

65 |
Sex and the Other | How did I get here? How does anyone get to an affair? The answer is: one small compromise at a time. King David was called “a man after God’s own heart.” How did this man end up in an affair? And what was God’s response? It’s a story of sin, consequences and redemption. | 2/19/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

67 |
Sex and the City | When it comes to sex, many of us are being shaped more by our culture than by God’s word or the Holy Spirit. Marriages, families and people are being destroyed. The title of this talk is “Sex and the City” because it represent our culture’s view of sex. | 2/5/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

Pause to Love | The great commandment is to love God and love people. If you are too busy for your friends and family, you are too busy! When was the last time you hung out with good friends—no agenda, just hung out? Hit the pause button…so you can love! | 1/30/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

69 |
Pause to Think | We need time to reflect, to think, to ponder. When we’re making big decisions, when we’re asking big questions, when we’re examining our lives, we need to pause and take time to reflect. Failure to do this results in bad decisions and shallow living. We also, very practically, need to pause: before we speak, before we act, before we spend. | 1/23/11 | Free | View In iTunes |
|
70 |
Pause to Worship | Every seventh day, God wants us to pause—pause so we can worship and rest. For the Jews, the Sabbath was a day of rest, and a day of sacred assembly. There is something powerful about pausing every seven days to worship God, about enjoying God together with others who love him, about having a day that is “God’s day.” | 1/16/11 | Free | View In iTunes |
|
71 |
Pause to Rest | Every seventh day, God wants us to pause—pause so we can worship and rest. We live in a driven culture where our worth is measured by our productivity. We often feel that we can’t stop, we can’t pause, we must keep on producing. But God says we must pause regularly and designed us to live with this rhythm. Failure to pause and rest is disobedience to God, harmful to us, and an expression of pride and lack of trust. | 1/9/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

Pause to Pray | We have to pause to pray. We can’t always be praying on the run. We have to pause to hear God’s voice, be still and listen. | 1/2/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

Jesus Breaks the Mold | Sometimes following the leader means going places we wouldn’t go on our own; and sometimes those places challenge us to see and do things we didn’t before. Today, following the leader means letting Jesus show us why we’re not experiencing everything he promised us. We’ll also see how to change that, and start living the life God promised us. | 8/16/09 | Free | View In iTunes |

We love Life Center and Joe!
We are new to Spokane, only about two years, and have really enjoyed Life Center. Both my husband and I deploy a lot and love being able to listen to Joe while we're gone and unable to attend church. Really great addition to iTunes, thank you!!!
Woo-hoo :)
I had just started going to Life Center and really loved it but then fall came around and I had to pack up and leave for college. But I can stay in the word and follow along with these podcasts :) Life Center is amazing and Pastor Joe is really encoraging and so REAL! I am growing spiritually and I thank God for technology allowing me to stay in the Life Center "family".
So thankful
I have been attending Lifecenter for about 6 years now and I always look forward to Sunday knowing the worship is going to be amazingly uplifting and the sermon is going to be a welcome life lesson. I just recently decided a move to Alaska for Dental Hygiene school is the best thing for me and I am so thankful that I can still hear Joe's words of encouragement through my iPod. Even when I start attending a new church, I will still have a huge spot in my heart for Lifecenter Spokane! <3
