Learning to Live in the Father’s Generosity | Yesterday I was invited to join Cliff Ravenscraft on his Encouraging Others In Christ Podcast, asking the question, "Is God Bigger Than Your Bank Account?" He wanted to respond to a paragraph in an email I sent about learning to live inside Father's provision instead of the mistaken notion that we provide for ourselves. In this podcast I share a lot of my own journey to come to rest in the Father's provision and thought it might be a blessing to many of you as well. He also gave me permission to include it on my Lifestream blog as well. I hope it is helpful to many of you wrestling with learning to live in the Father's generosity. If only more Christians would listen!
Tons of people question tithing and the law...and wonder if it's still for today. We have been taught not to question traditions...we are taught that tithing was PRE-LAW...we are also taught to listen to the Holy Spirit, UNLESS it has to do with God's(the church's)money.
Oh yeah...STOREHOUSE wasn't a local church, it was a storage building like a silo, used to hold tithe and offerings( not money...animals and crops grown on the inherited land...and yes, there was money back then).
Thanks Wayne...hope I don't get labeled as the anti-christ again!!!
So encouraging
This has been so encouraging. It has had a role in radically changing the way I view God His love is amazing! It's too bad that we often allow ourselves to settle for a view of God that is well beneath the reality of His astounding nature. When our eyes are opened up to just how amazing and loving this person Jesus is, wow... we realize He's the coolest kid on the block and nothing comes close.
So helpful....
So many things are explained that help bring clarity to my overall under-standing of how to interact with scripture while journeying to come to know God's Abba-Father love in increasing measure.
