Live Out Loud- for teaching religious ed

I am really impressed with this podcast. I am a religious education teacher and I was randomly searching for things for youths by youths. I thought that if I hooked a mini speaker up to an IPOD, they could get interested. Avery is such an incredible person. I think she is only in ninth grade and she seems to know everything about the bible and being catholic (as well as playing sports etc.) She really has a gift for ministry and is passionate about her catholicsm. It is refreshing. I listened to all of the six podcasts. I learned from each one. I am going to play some of them in my class this year, but have not done it yet. They are a little long and I have had to take notes on the time of the excerpts I want to use. I will share them here if it helps someone else: So far, I like episode 1 from 17:14 to 27:16 (these are times on the left) where Avery answers questions about religous garb. I like Episode 2, "How to Read the Bible" where I marked 14:12 AND 18:23 (not sure if it is two starts or a begin end. I like Episode 4, the guided Rosary from 6:39. Episode 5 includes mmore guided rosary of the 2nd Joyful Mystery at 12:36 and the third at 25:12. Episode 6 includes the fourth Joyful Mystery starting at 20:18. I am only going to play about 10 minutes, and will do Avery's great explanations of the Mystery and then just a few of the 10 beads. I think kids should know the Mysteries by the time they are in seventh grade. In the future, I would also like Avery to talk about the 15 promises Mary made to Catholics who say the Rosary. I am going to use that as a "carrot" for the kids.
I would have given this podcast five stars if it was a little more polished. Avery rambles and goes off on her self proclaimed "rants". She also says "like" and "you know" a little too much. Nothing that a public speaking class can't help in the future. If she polishes this up, she could be the Catholic version of Joyce Meyers or Joel Osteen and we Catholics need her!
