CleanEpisode 21: Praying, Praying, and.....more Praying! | Hey Guys! So in this episode, our focus is..... (you guessed it!) Prayer! We're starting off by just talking about prayer in general. Especially how to pray, since sometimes we have the intention to pray but it doesn't always happen. Then, we talk about the not-so-popular (at least for teens) method of the Rosary. Except it's actually really cool. So get excited! Hope you enjoy this week's show(: God Bless, Avery | 10/19/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

CleanEpisode 20: What's Up With Saints? & Daily Devotionals | So on this week's show, we're doing "Questions from You!" Our first question is about the Saints. Who are they, why are they important, do we really worship them (no!), and why should we even care? Here's an awesome article that helped me in research for this question. Then, we talk about how to make God a bigger part of your day to day life. I reccomend devotionals like Jesus Calling, Purity 365, and Mustard Seeds. Have a great devotional that you do? Send the name of the book and something short about why you like it, and we'll reccomend it! Welcome to Brandon and Matt, the two newest members of our Ministry Team. If you're interested in joining the team for Live WTL, check out the team page! Have a great week! God Bless, Avery | 9/11/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

CleanEpisode 3, Matthew Kelly and Anna | So I'm back from an amazing week at Catholic HEART workcamp! It took me a while to get the show out (I lost my voice for a few days). But it's worth the wait, because we have two great interviews today! First, we talk to Mr. Matthew Kelly. His Bio: Matthew Kelly is a world-renowned speaker and New York Times bestselling author of twelve books including: The Rhythm of Life, The Seven Levels of Intimacy, The Dream Manager, and Rediscovering Catholicism. In addition to his spiritual ministry, Kelly is also a partner at Floyd Consulting, a Chicago based Management consulting firm. His core message, regardless of whether he addresses CEO’s, high schoolers, priests or parish communities, invites listeners to become the-best-version-of-themselves. This message of becoming the-best-version-of-yourself, inspired by his reading of Vatican II’s universal call to holiness, has allowed him to present the genius of Catholicism through his seminars and writings in a way that is disarmingly simple and yet, deeply profound. Some links: http://dynamiccatholic.com/ http://www.matthewkelly.org/ Second, we have a conversation with Anna from the Faithful magazine. Anna is 15 and lives in the UK. She makes a quarterly magazine for Catholic girls called the Faithful magazine. http://www.faithfulmagazine.webs.com/ http://faithfulcatholicgirl.blogspot.com/ So that's the show! Coming up.... more tips for reading the Bible! Also the next show will have to do with the Rosary. Mostly what it is, why its important, how to pray it, etc. If you have rosary questions, you can always email them to me at avery@livewtl.com. I'll answer them in the next show. My Website: http://www.livewtl.com/ My blog: http://leadmealong.tumblr.com/ Hope you guys all have a great week! I'm thinking about making a facebook page for the Live Out Loud show. Suggestions? CleanEpisode 2, Reading, Studying, and Praying the Bible! | Well, its been a while, but the new show is finally out! On this show, we do some catching up on what’s been going on, and we talk about the Bible. First, we talk about how to read the Bible with the four “senses” of reading. Then we go on to give some tips and things to watch out for when reading, praying, and studying scripture. A lot of the stuff from this show came from the resources in the Catholic Teen Bible. (I love it!) You can find it here: http://store.lifeteen.com/catholicteenbible.aspx Also, as always, you can find additional resources at: http://www.livewtl.com/ My blog: http://leadmealong.tumblr.com/I hope you enjoy the show!Blessings,AveryIf you judge people, you have no time to love them. -Mother Teresa | 6/22/10 | Free | View In iTunes |

CleanEpisode 1, Confirmation, Questions, Allen Hunt, and Patrick Lencioni! | Whoa! Can you believe it has actually been a WHOLE YEAR?? I can't. But its truly amazing what God can do in one year, I'll tell you that. Well, anyway, we're back up and running (under a new name!!) after a month or so of some majorly stressful and annoying technical difficulty. This show is a little longer, but we start off with an interview about Confirmation (I meant to publish like a month ago) I got to talk to my relatives about their Confirmation. Next, we go to Questions from You and talk about the mass. Send in your own question from the website or email me. Answers this week were from Do I Have to Go? by Matthew Pinto and Chris Stefanick. We end off the show having a conversation with Patrick Lencioni and Allen Hunt. It was so cool to interview them when they came to my church for a conference. Hear about what they do, how they balance work and faith, some advice they have for teens, and amazing wisdom! www.livewtl.com I hope you all have a fabulous and blessed summer! Live Out Loud- for teaching religious ed
I am really impressed with this podcast. I am a religious education teacher and I was randomly searching for things for youths by youths. I thought that if I hooked a mini speaker up to an IPOD, they could get interested. Avery is such an incredible person. I think she is only in ninth grade and she seems to know everything about the bible and being catholic (as well as playing sports etc.) She really has a gift for ministry and is passionate about her catholicsm. It is refreshing. I listened to all of the six podcasts. I learned from each one. I am going to play some of them in my class this year, but have not done it yet. They are a little long and I have had to take notes on the time of the excerpts I want to use. I will share them here if it helps someone else: So far, I like episode 1 from 17:14 to 27:16 (these are times on the left) where Avery answers questions about religous garb. I like Episode 2, "How to Read the Bible" where I marked 14:12 AND 18:23 (not sure if it is two starts or a begin end. I like Episode 4, the guided Rosary from 6:39. Episode 5 includes mmore guided rosary of the 2nd Joyful Mystery at 12:36 and the third at 25:12. Episode 6 includes the fourth Joyful Mystery starting at 20:18. I am only going to play about 10 minutes, and will do Avery's great explanations of the Mystery and then just a few of the 10 beads. I think kids should know the Mysteries by the time they are in seventh grade. In the future, I would also like Avery to talk about the 15 promises Mary made to Catholics who say the Rosary. I am going to use that as a "carrot" for the kids.
I would have given this podcast five stars if it was a little more polished. Avery rambles and goes off on her self proclaimed "rants". She also says "like" and "you know" a little too much. Nothing that a public speaking class can't help in the future. If she polishes this up, she could be the Catholic version of Joyce Meyers or Joel Osteen and we Catholics need her!
