Not So Much

Kevin Smith asked a great question in his movies: Han and Chewie are great, but would they be great in a movie by themselves. Nathan Rose answers that question for us. Untempered by his former partner's reasonableness, he really just comes across as whining on the same moldy topics that were already getting overplayed at the end of the last podcast's run (Pixar, it's in Tomorrowland, get over it). Tim seems likeable enough, but at this point (around Ep 8) he's still too new and too willing to play second fiddle to Nathan. The new mascot is such a ripoff of Hexley, the Darwin platypus, it's just sad. The revolving door of guests (Jackie, Jim Hill, etc...) keep the show from focusing on a single successful format and put it all over the map. Spots of brilliance here, but in the end the combination of whining, Disney Fanboyishness, and unfulfilled promise (come on, Tim, you're a great photographer, stop playing coy, shy, and then providing the type of photo tip you can read in the back of a instruction manual for a cheap digital camera) disappoint. This show plays to the DF -- so more balanced Disney fans, beware.

Why Bother

I made the mistake of trying to listen to this incredibly boring podcast. What a waste of time. Unless you want to eat your own face just to make the voice of Nathan Rose stop from drilling into your brain, do not give this show a listen.

Tim Devine is Sexy - Nathan Rose is Annoying

Well....actually, Tim's *voice* is sexy. There is no other Disney podcaster out there who has a sexier voice than Tim Devine. Tim was the only reason that I gave the MDP a chance. The only other other thing worthwhile about MDP are the Jim Hill segments. If Tim & Jim got together, that would be one hell of a podcast! Nathan Rose has nothing of interest to add to a podcast. His voice and personality are distracting and annoying. It's particularly annoying when Nathan says something stupid and thinks he's cute or funny. He's mistaken. I almost cancelled my subscription to Nathan's previous podcast, Mouse Tunes (because of his opinions about how bad the Disneyland experience is - compared to his beloved Walt Disney World). But, I kept listening to it until the end, because Lou Mongello is a great podcaster. I listened to all of the MDP shows since the beginning, until I heard the April 8th show. After I heard Nathan express his personal opinions, I cancelled my subscription to MDP. On that episode, Natahn said that one of his pet peves is when Disney cast members ask his wife to stop smoking in non-smoking sections of the theme parks. Apparently, the non-smoking rules should not apply to his wife. That was enough for me to stop listening to him and any podcast that has his voice.
