Podcast Description
Miss Molly Bell's Creative Habit is an ongoing discussion about how we can create, invent, and inspire our authentic selves from the inside out. New 30-45 minute episode MP3s will be available every Thursday. We explore ideas that allow us all to be our own creative coach, life coach and lifestyle-career designer. The hosts, Molly Bell & Daya Curley, have collaborated on many projects together, including the hit musical comedy BECOMING BRITNEY, which world premiered at The New York International Fringe Festival and was followed by a hit Bay Area production. They also won a San Francisco Bay Area Theatre Critic's Circle Award for their script. While the podcast includes serious-minded ideas, Molly & Daya’s snarky take on the world helps elevate the conversation and make it fun while treating the subject of self-help with respect.

Episode 20 | A cold and windy day, but that doesn't stop us from continuing our high speed black tea-fueled chatter. If you're driving over a bridge in a light car in windy weather, open your car windows so you don't blow over. Should Molly get a land line? We discuss the benefits. Molly tells us about cracking jokes while being transported in an ambulance. Daya tells Molly about the free iPad app called Google Search. With this beautiful app Molly will be able to edit her Google Docs. Molly talks about the FORA.tv talk by Seth Godin called "Overpowering Your Lizard Brain". We can control our reactions by acknowledging our lizard brain and treating it gently and respectfully. Molly uses a moment from past Divas For life concert as an example of how a disastrous moment on stage can become an even better time for the audience. We interview performer-turned-realtor Riette Fallant. How does she use creativity to approach a new career in a fresh way? Molly talks about uber successful realtor Ken Deleon. His ads always catch her eye becuase there's a creative spark. Daya talks about an amazing candid YouTube video of a woman dancing on a treadmill. You gotta see it. So fun and inspirtaional to watch someone dance like nobody's watching. Daya also shares an interesting video project wherein people from around the world contributed scenes and built a shot-for-shot remake of the movie Footloose. Episode 19 | Are people listening? We do have our FOTS...and you are our partners in whatever the hell this show is! Another black tea-fueled episode. Molly has been in a darkened theatre all week choreographing SECRET GARDEN. Plus things are crazy for both of us with plans for BECOMING BRITNEY. We share TO DO list options. Daya still uses Wunderlist. Molly found a family-oriented website called Yadahome. Daya finally got an iPad and hasn't had the time to use it much. Molly wants one too (is Kurt listening?). We geek out about Google Docs. Daya wonders about the guilt we should feel about having these devices, which are possibly built with near-slave labor. We chat with Katie Von Till for a report from our Hollywood FOTS! Katie spent Thanksgiving at a casino, which posed as a lackluster "resort". We get a Snow White update from Katie. A few more jobs (including recording a line for use inside the Disney parks) and she met the woman who does the voice of Minnie Mouse. Katie has a creative tip about TO DO lists. Make your first entry "Make TO DO list" so when you've done making the list you get to cross something off right away. Daya uses multiple smaller lists. Does courage aid creativity? How about fear? Katie feels "fear" is too big a word and perhaps we can think of it as "nerves" to make it smaller and therefore easier to push through. Daya tried to avoid the word "afraid" in order to take the power from difficult situations. Molly recognizes that some people are paralyzed and perhaps "fear" is the right word. Katie comments on her penchant for talking about cookies on Facebook. Another brain trick? Becky Bell, bioidentical hormone specialist, calls in with some info about oxytocin and her reactions to the Paul Zak TED Talk called "Trust, morality - and oxytocin" [http://youtu.be/rFAdlU2ETjU]. She introduces the idea of cortisol causing a suppression of oxytocin and that, like everything, it all comes down to balance. Look for the new BECOMING BRITNEY website, which should launch on Friday 12/2. Please shop on Amazon by first clicking through the Amazon banner on our website! Molly also admits to some shopaholic tendencies in her youth. She’s found a nice iPhone app called My Weekly Budget to help combat that in daily life. Episode 3 | Molly's feeling bloated. Good to know. How do you pronounce "caramel"? Molly talks about her Sunday Evening Blues. For Daya, every day is "Blursday". Daya has lost interest in the TV show "So You Think You Can Dance". Let's list the reason why! Molly has some strong thoughts too. Surprise! We correct ourselves in regard to the whole Karl Pilkington/Stephen Merchant debacle. Embarrassing! Molly mentions a recent video by Silicon Valley venture capitalist Guy Kawasaki. In the video he warns against the idea of a person being a brand. Molly disagrees and says why. She also wonders about her admiration for Asian entrepreneurs (the male kind). Watch out, Kurt! What does it mean to call oneself a brand? Is that the right word? Google will not allow brands to have profiles on Google Plus. Is that fair? We play and then discuss a clip from Leo Laporte's This Week in Google podcast in which Dr. Kiki explains why she will refuse to be on Google Plus under her legal name at the expense of her "brand" name. Molly asks if one's given name helps shape one's destiny and personality. Could we deal with a Molly Bell who is called "Barbara Bell"? We speak yet again about Tony Hsieh and Zappos.com. Daya listened to Tony’s book "Delivering Happiness" based on Molly's recommendation. She liked it at first, but then realized that Zappos.com has let her down. She explains why. Episode 2 | We discuss Zappos.com founder Tony Hsieh. Molly is listening to his book "Delivering Happiness". We discuss how the book inspires Molly and why Daya should read it. How can we implement "the wow factor" in our own lives? Molly recounts from the book the satisfaction levels and recommended priority for pleasure, passion and one’s higher purpose. Most people do it the wrong way. Molly's multitasking method: Walk with 8-pound hand weights and listening to business self-help books. Daya wonders if one can pay attention and know about the negative aspects of the world around us, like politics, and maintain a creative outlook. Molly suggests that contributing ourselves to the world can make a dent in the external awfulness. What that one jingle from and which company? Who knows? Not Molly! Molly and Daya are both at personal crossroads and are searching for their higher purposes. We share why we’re prompted to do this at this point in our lives. Molly uses the word "reciprocity" correctly in a sentence! We talk about how important it is to put work into relationships. Molly believes men especially lose touch with that part of their lives. As always, we ask listeners to join us, contribute, write us...share your creative habits!! Without you there's no point in doing this podcast. We need at least 25 Likes on our Facebook page in order to get a custom URL Please subscribe on iTunes and take the time to rate us. Molly admits her professional crush on Guy Kawasaki. She is listening to his audiobook "Enchantment". Also, what the heck is that word for when "something's to the power of something"? Something old, something new
Love it. As life has gotten so busy for me and too routine and yes, boring, I have been looking for an outlet for change. Who knew it would be through being more creative? But I enjoy the way the discussions make me want to do new things, want to improve, and remember some of the things that make me who I am. Hope to be an active listening as the podcast continues.

Podcasts get me through my day. I realize that part of my own creative process is to multitask. While going about my day in New York City--traveling on the subway; walking a dog--i listen to podcasts. The voices in my earbuds teach, inspire, and entertain me. There is nothing better than a great podcast and this certainly is one. Miss Molly Bell and Daya Curley are having the conversations that I have everyday with the people in my life. I declared two years ago that my dream was to wake up everyday and "create" something. It is a struggle to do so, but setting that intention literally changed my life. Being open to the creative possibilities in the universe have now been a part of my daily habit. Having the discussion about one's individual creative process is so important to the evolution of our culture and can be transformative on a very deep level. Subscribe, tweet, like, love and exponentially we can change the world.
Gettin to be a habit with me...
Always a delightful listen. Join Miss Molly Bell and Daya Curley as they chat between themselves and their guests about the creative process, living a creative life, adding more creativity in your own life, and whatever and whoever in their lives might make them (and you) laugh. Loved the last one with East Bay's own Broadway star, James Monroe Iglehart. Can't wait for next time!
