Everyday Worship - Spiritual Gifts (part 2)
As Christ followers we often ask how. How can I have a good marriage? How can I be discipled? How can we as a church be on mission? Not that those questions are bad, but often they are asked because we believe that we can muster up the energy or expertise to answer them on our own. We ask them with little regard or a serious focus on the Holy Spirit. Before Jesus leaves he says that one greater than even he is coming; the Holy Spirit. It can be tough for our minds to wrap around, but its God’s spirit that is going to bless his people to answer those questions we are always asking. Its through and depending on the Holy Spirit that we are going to be able to be discipled, be good husbands and wives, and serve and love our city.

Everyday Worship. Romans 12:3
For Paul a hallmark of the Christian life is living into the 100% newness of resurrection. That means any and all of the old systems and rules are gone. This is all about living God’s kingdom out. One of the main contradictions between the Kingdom of God and our world is how we look at ourselves and how we are to serve others.

Come, Eat. Luke 24:13-49
On the heels of Resurrection its tempting to think that we are now left on our own to figure out the Christian Life. However, the Bible shows us that the resurrected Jesus still pursues us, still teaches us, and still leads us in living lives that practice resurrection.

Come, Eat. Luke 22:7-23
Jesus gathers his disciples together for one last meal. A meal where he will teach, prophesy of, and embody the gospel. Its a meal where he will ask them to not just be students but messengers of his ministry. Its where he initiates the new covenant where through Jesus sin will be remembered now more.

Come, eat. Luke 10:38-42
Jesus is the good portion. Our initial reaction to this text is not to find rest in Jesus, but to compare ourselves to Mary and Martha. And from that, we try to be like Mary. This passage of scripture doesn't call you to be like Mary. That's not the point. Yes, there are things you can learn both Mary and Martha, but Luke is more concerned with you seeing the value and worth of Jesus.

Jesus calls his disciples to feed a crowd of 5,000 with only enough food for one person. Jesus is always calling us to do thing that we can't do without him. And he always provides and satisfies.
