CleanMolksTVTalk the Podcast – S02E16 | Another Skyped podcast as SteveMolk is still overseas, this time in Arizona in the US. There’s lots of good television on both sides of the Pacific, but it’s the stuff in Australia that has most people’s attention. There’s a chance to work in the TV industry and the CELEBRITY APPRENTICE AUSTRALIA wraps up for the year, along with an interview with Dan & Dani from THE BLOCK (thanks to Josh). It’s a busy week with new shows and the Olympics are but 6 weeks away (where has the year gone?!). On this week’s show we cover such topics as: Dicko wins 2012 CELEBRITY APPRENTICE AUSTRALIA – after the result was leaked on NineMSN. Ch10′s BREAKFAST woes. Wanna join Ch10′s dream factory? Tuesday launches: ONCE UPON A TIME, BIKIE WARS, SURVIVOR. THE VOICE AUSTRALIA changes gear to the live shows and drops the c-bomb. PACKED TO THE RAFTERS gets another season. US TV impressions including HBO & THE NEWSROOM promo, AMERICA’S GOT TALENT with Howard Stern and season finales. THE BLOCK vs MASTERCHEF AUSTRALIA – the battle continues. Exclusive interview with Dan & Dani – THE BLOCK. Keep in touch with us – you can e-mail podcasts@molkstvtalk.com, tweet either Josh or SteveMolk and we’ll give you a shout out and everything. CleanMolksTVTalk the Podcast – S02E15 | Oh, Canada! With me in Calgary and Josh still in Brislantis, it’s back to Skyping for the podcast. There’s still a lot to talk about, what with the launch of MASTERCHEF AUSTRALIA, news that finally TRICKY BUSINESS is getting a run, and Darren McMullan going all Dicko on a booted contestant from THE VOICE AUSTRALIA. I go away for one week and this happens… On this week’s show: TRICKY BUSINESS gets an airdate (and the best lead in available). (3:38) Channel 7 schedules ONCE UPON A TIME. (5:05) All for the BROTHERS IN ARMS. (8:05) Exclusive interview with Damian Walshe-Howling – BIKIE WARS: BROTHERS IN ARMS. (11:25) That show. (19:20) THE VOICE AUSTRALIA and prima donnas. (22:13) SURVIVOR: ONE WORLD airdate exclusive. (29:07) MASTERCHEF returns and goes up against THE BLOCK. (30:02) Margie wins THE BIGGEST LOSER AUSTRALIA 2012. CleanMolksTVTalk the Podcast – S02E14 | A note from SteveMolk: If you’ve downloaded this podcast thinking it’ll be a nice, simple, quick listen, you were only 66.67% correct. At one hour thirty two minutes, settle in as it’s a biggie, but not without good reason. I personally blame the fact we stopped half way through and had dinner, causing us to come back with a second wind. Lethal. Nonetheless, this week we solve all of Network Ten’s ills, let you know about ALL the new reality TV that’s fatiguing you night after night, compare the announced London Olympics coverage coming up on both Foxtel and Channel 9, dissect the ratings, and fill you in with what’s about to happen with the monthly MolksTVTalk LIVE podcast. So much discussion, so little sense or resolution. I’m sorry. On this week’s show: Nine vs Foxtel’s Olympic Dreams. (2:37) So much new reality – The Voice, The Block, Celebrity Apprentice, Dancing With The Stars, Australia’s Got Talent. (16:01) You had me at “consolidated ratings”. (32:24) MolksTVTalk LIVE – monthly. (40:58) Ch10′s Breakfast and The Project. (48:02) What’s coming up in the next week. (1:00:05) Our very own Q&A, now including MustWatch. (1:13:06) Keep in touch with us – you can e-mail podcasts@molkstvtalk.com, tweet either Josh or SteveMolk and we’ll give you a shout out and everything. That’s just the kind of podcast w***es we are. CleanMolksTVTalk the Podcast – Alan Brough Special | I’ve been looking forward to the opportunity to speak with Alan Brough for some time (after all, he was the hold-out Ginger Spice of the SPICKS AND SPECKS crew). Now that he’s busy narrating the new animal documentary WILD LIFE AT THE ZOO for ABC1, the excuses could no longer remain valid. I knew Alan was funny. I’d seen it on the telly, heard him on the radio and read his work before. While he’s busy being Dad I stole 20 valuable minutes from him to discuss life in a zoo, parodying Sir David Attenborough, the legalized prostitution of animals, monkeys called Trevor, our collective stance on immigration, cloning and echidna sex. Also, sultanas and children. Pretty standard fare, really. The laughing you hear most obviously is mine, and that in the background of Kelly Higgins-Devine who helped me record it. It’s a delightful chat with Alan – one I enjoyed immensely. Tune in on Wednesday nights at 8pm on ABC1 to hear Alan on WILD LIFE AT THE ZOO, and enjoy this chat too. | 4/24/12 | Free | View In iTunes |

CleanMolksTVTalk the Podcast – S02E13 – Logies Live Event | Congratulations to Hamish Blake, winner of the 2012 Gold Logie award. Blake beat out an impressive list of nominees including 2011 winner Karl Stefanovic, dual 2012 silver Logie winner Adam Hills, 2012 silver Logie winner Asher Keddie, Carrie Bickmore and Esther Anderson. It capped off what was a VERY long broadcast filled with the usual lengthy speeches, gaffes, mediocre performances and controversy. The Logies is always enjoyable though halfway through you realise it’s very late and there’s still so much of it to go! Certainly Channel 9 need to look at broadcasting the program live in future years so as to save from spoilers (be they from inside the venue or ‘accidentally’ published on a newspaper website) – and the network needs to tighten the broadcast significantly. Coming in at nearly four hours thirty minutes it’s a marathon I’m surprised that the attendees could make it through. The news that TV Week supplied a complete list of the winners to media outlets at 6pm with a strict embargo for release after the end of the broadcast poses one major question: with the Gold Logie SMS voting not closing until 8pm AEST, what of the votes from 6pm-8pm? Did they not count? Are the people who sent them deserving of a refund (in my opinion – absolutely)? On the plus side there were many significant/correct/intelligent wins in categories across the board. Hugh Sheridan (Packed To The Rafters) won the most popular male, while Asher Keddie (Offspring/Paper Giants) won the most popular female. The Slap won most outstanding drama; Rob Carlton (Paper Giants) won most outstanding male actor & Melissa George (The Slap) won most outstanding female. Chelsie Preston Crayford picked up the Graham Kennedy award for most outstanding new talent. Go Back To Where You Came From won the most outstanding factual program – the only SBS gong for the night. This year saw the first instance of a program made intentionally for a digital multi-channel winning a Logie, with My Place (ABC3) winning most oustanding children’s program. Adam Hill’s monologue to open the show was outstanding, as was Shaun Micallef’s Gold Logie introduction/presentation. Steve Quartermain’s dig that Ch10 don’t have the AFL this year as he accepted the Most popular sports program Logie was a nice touch indeed. The In Memoriam presentation was good though Mick Molloy’s eulogy for Bill Hunter, while nice, showed disrespect to the others listed due in part to it’s length. The introduction to Molly Meldrum’s induction into the Logies Hall of Fame went on for FAR TOO LONG, but the acceptance speech by Michael Gudinski on Molly’s behalf was endearing. Don’t even get me started on the musical performances – six in total, and all bar Tony Bennett suffered from poor audio/delivery. Bottom line it was a One Direction sandwich with the ugliest, biggest filling you’ve ever had to eat. It was a big win for the ABC, with eight Logies in total. Channel 9 won six, Channel 7 won five and Channel 10 won three. This special MolksTVTalk LIVE podcast was recorded at the Regatta Hotel in Toowong is a great recap of the night if you can hang in there for the entire thing. The first 30 minutes is Josh and I covering the red carpet fashion with Channel 7′s Liz Cantor (thanks Liz!), and then we recap each segment of the Logies after they’ve happened. We hope you found it as amusing as we did recording it! | 4/15/12 | Free | View In iTunes |

CleanMolksTVTalk the Podcast – S02E12 | Oh. Em. Gee. Boy do we at MolksTVTalk know how to jump on a bandwagon. You may look in One Direction, but we’ll point you in the other One Direction. #1D. And so forth. With the Logies all but upon us there was lots to talk about there, including the recording of our very special Logies LIVE podcast this coming Sunday night. It’s sure to be fun, so if you’re in Brisbane/South East Queensland make sure you come down and watch the show and join in the podcasting fun. There’s also a crapload* of new programs about to start and we had to make sure you were aware. So be aware, people. Foxtel also did some stuff worth mentioning, some people had some anniversaries, some shows got renewed, and we still found time to answer your questions. What nice people we are. On this week’s show: Special LOGIES podcast. (1:32) LOGIES preview and predictions. (4:14) It’s anniversaries all round! (21:48) FOXTEL allowed to buy all the things. (29:30) Good news from across the pond. (36:18) They are coming… so many new shows. (41:08) Too much KATH AND KIM. (51:45) Everyone owns ONE DIRECTION. (56:08) We answer all the questions, and provide all the MustWatch suggestions. (1:02:34) (*It’s a technical TV term.) CleanMolksTVTalk the Podcast – S02E11 | With thanks to Josh we captured a lot of the action of the 2012 Molkies, including interviews with those that attended and award winners. Everyone’s got an opinion when it comes to TV and it was good to hear them shared throughout the evening. On this week’s show: We congratulate the winners, commiserate with the losers, and “party on!” with everyone who came along on the night. As always there’s time to drop in some news of the week and our Must Watch recommendations at the end (some recommendations are better than others). CleanMolksTVTalk the Podcast – S02E10 | We sound very pretty today. Not a Kasey Chambers kind of pretty enough, but pretty nonetheless. Searching for a sugar daddy paid off and from this week on we have actual microphones and recording gear and we sound almost semi-amateur. We think, anyway. Given it’s the final week of the first part of ratings for 2012 we did discuss what was great and what was EXCESS BAGGAGE this year. You make your calls and see if you agree with us. There’s also a huge Q&A session towards the end of the podcast where we answer all sorts of questions (none of them accurately), so if you asked, it was answered. On this week’s show: The 2012 MOLKIES. (1:40) MY KITCHEN RULES finale finally. (11:14) Working Dog back on form with PICTURES OF YOU. (25:46) The hits and misses of the first quarter for 2012. (38:06) All the TV newsy news you didn’t know was news. (55:06) Our biggest Q&A yet, and another shambolic MustWatch. CleanMolksTVTalk the Podcast – S02E09 | Welcome to the business end of the first portion of the 2012 ratings year – nearly time to breathe a sigh of relief and eat some chocolate. Before we do that though, there’s lots to discuss and dissect, not least of which the 2012 Logies nominations and the surprises contained therein (Hamish Blake nominated for the Gold Logie?! Surely you jest, TV Week?). There’s a bunch of shows ending and a whole lot of others starting so grab a beverage and settle into the usual sparkling repartee you’ve come to expect from SteveMolk & Josh. On this week’s show: THE SHIRE laps up the controversy. (1:34) It’s the final week of 2012 MOLKIES voting! (10:29) The LOGIES nominations are out, with pre-requisite surprises. (15:55) Ch10 shunt YOUNG TALENT TIME out of Super Sunday. (25:05) HAMISH & ANDY head off for their Euro Gap Year. (29:28) This weeks TV milestones – SUNDAY NIGHT, NCIS, THE SIMPSONS. (33:09) Who’ll have the best coverage for the Qld State Election Night? (35:52) Interview with ADAM ZWAR discussing AGONY UNCLES. (41:05) “The end of summer” and a bunch of shows coming soon. CleanMolksTVTalk the Podcast – S02E08 | From KONY 2012 to the announcement of the DANCING WITH THE STARS cast, this was a busy week in TV. Bandwagons were jumped on, people were pushed off others, and conflicting messages were sent. This week, however, SteveMolk & Josh did find time to offer a community service in alerting up and coming TV producers to a role hot off the presses in Melbourne, whilst pouring over the news that WIN TV had closed their regional news bureaus in Western Australia – and discussing it with WA media identity JASON JORDAN meant we got a local’s perspective to what really is a loss for those outside of Perth. At least Josh didn’t try and deliver any bad gags this week. We just needed more cowbell. On this week’s show: DANCING WITH THE “STARS”. (2:00) WIN TV kill off regional news in WA – interview with JASON JORDAN. (7:08) All aboard the KONY 2012 bandwagon. 22:31) Hosts, presenters and performers announced for the LOGIES. (28:48) RIP IAN TURPIE. 33:55) ANDREW VOS effectively boned. (41:18) Why are Ch9 advertising THE BLOCK and CELEBRITY APPRENTICE AUSTRALIA at the same time? (44:29) The 2012 MOLKIES are getting serious. (46:36) MolksTVTalk’s MY KITCHEN RULES recaps go legit. (50:05) This week’s MustWatch TV & listener questions. CleanMolksTVTalk the Podcast – Frank Woodley Special | In the first special edition podcast interview for 2012, I was very lucky to catch up with Frank Woodley via Skype to discuss with him, among other things, his TV show WOODLEY. In what starts out with an bend in the universe freaking Frank out, the conversation trips to his comedic influences for his series in Buster Keaton and Charlie Chaplin and develops into a comedic masterclass. How does someone who specialises in physical comedy make it look so effortless? It was a delightful conversation with one of the nicest men in Australian comedy. From spending a week in an egg suit, to worrying about co-stars not having enough lines in a silent film TV series, to business cards in your underpants – it’s a confusing, educational and entertaining chat. For those lucky enough to be attending the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, you can see Frank in his show BEMUSEMENT PARK from 29 March to 22 April 2012, otherwise you catch him on 8pm Wednesday night on ABC1 in WOODLEY for a few more weeks yet. CleanMolksTVTalk the Podcast – S02E07 | There was just too much happening this week to find time to squeeze in an interview – so instead there’s high quality analysis of each network and how they’re performing. We also discuss the impact of Weekend Breakfast television and how it is showing its weekday counterparts up. Also, BAGGAGE WATCH returns because the people demanded it! We also put a pin in CIRCLE-gate with the definitive resolution, so everyone else can stop talking about it and we can all move on with our lives… On this week’s show: BAGGAGE WATCH. (1:18) More DANCING WITH THE STARS contestants announced. Stars? – no. (4:05) Weekend Breakfast TV steps up. (9:15) MOLKIES voting continues – do you want the podcast prize?! (17:16) ABC – the home of drama. (19:58) SEVEN – the home of ratings. (34:15) NINE – the home of cricket/NRL (but for how long). (42:13) TEN – the home of dodgy programming decisions. CleanMolksTVTalk the Podcast – S02E06 | It felt like Channel 10 week as we sat down to discuss the week in TV. What with BREAKFAST, BEING LARA BINGLE and THE LIVING ROOM there was just so much to discuss. SteveMolk & Josh also tease out one of the most annoying issues on TV today – why do shows that are pre-recorded/edited run late in the schedule? MOLK SMASH! We started a discussion about second screen apps (if you watched the Australian Open this year, you may have heard of one) and there’s the ever popular EXCESS BAGGAGE Update! So much TV, so little sensibility applied. On this week’s show: BEING LARA BINGLE or Brynne Edelsten. (3:00) The two big awards shows of last Monday night. (9:04) Baggage Update! (14:38) Pre-recorded shows running overtime. (15:58) THE LIVING ROOM comes into your home soon. (23:48) Ch10′s BREAKFAST serves first course. (27:20) SteveMolk interviews Paul Henry from BREAKFAST. (40:50) The Molkies, now with added prizes! (53:10) Live TV & the insanity that is political upheaval. (1:01:35) Second-Screen apps & how they want your mind. (1:07:08) This week’s MustWatch TV. CleanMolksTVTalk the Podcast – S02E05 | As if two weeks of television ratings isn’t enough, now we get to talk about what people recorded and watched later too! The consolidated ratings are starting to pump out and it brings with it a surprise or two. Molk is back to report on his Sydney sojourn, and we look at the latest from DANCING WITH THE STARS and EXCESS BAGGAGE – yes, two shows that couldn’t be at more opposite end of the scale. At least we’ve got Ch10′s BREAKFAST to look forward to on Monday! UPDATE: Channel 10 have opted to launch their new early morning news program BREAKFAST two days early on Thursday 23/02/2012 to cover among other things the resignation of Kevin Rudd as Foreign Minister. Judgement shall be passed. On this week’s show: Baggage Watch. (2:06) NRL vs the Cricket. (4:16) Foxtel Launches A&E and FX. (11:23) DANCING WITH THE STARS announces part of its cast! (16:24) THE VOICE way overbooks audience tickets. (20:45) The OzTAM Multiscreen Report. (26:46) SteveMolk interviews Essie Davis from MISS FISHER’S MURDER MYSTERIES. CleanMolksTVTalk the Podcast – S02E04 | Well here we go – the first week of ratings, and SteveMolk & Josh are back with another podcast episode to educate, confuse and horrify. Kerri-Anne resurfaces, Sunrise has a nasty case of the delays, Channel 7 finally get their Revenge, House gets cancelled two seasons too late just as it’s about to start screening in Australia – there’s just so much to talk about. Recorded on Valentine’s Day (for all the lovers out there) because Molk had some commitments in SYD on Wednesday… but you’ll hear all about that too. Oh, and Josh was REALLY sick. On this week’s show: The 2012 MOLKIES! (2:50) THE BIGGEST LOSERs fall in love. (8:40) REVENGE rocks on premiere for Ch7. (12:03) Foxtel launch A&E – with added MEGATRUCKERS! (16:53) Kerri-Anne surfaces on Ch7. (20:05) Ch10′s BREAKFAST gets an airdate. 22:34) That’s a lot of “nearly” for SUNRISE. (27:02) HOUSE cancelled after S08. (32:36) The ABC delivers more new programming. (34:24) SteveMolk interviews Sean James Murphy & Dario Russo from DANGER 5. (37:30) This week’s MustWatch TV. CleanMolksTVTalk the Podcast – S02E03 | For the second time ever Josh & SteveMolk get to sit across from each other and talk turkey about television. It’s totally paying off, though our gags and wild forays into uncharted and unrelated territory remain. There was lots to discuss, though certainly the hottest topic was the bumping of EXCESS BAGGAGE from Ch9 to GO! starting next week. What went wrong? Well, everything and nothing. See the dichotomies we propose?! So Yin & Yang. In the midst of the crazy is a great interview with Ash & Scott from Eleven’s new music program The Loop, too… though they were so pizza powered you can’t tell where the crazy stops and the serious interviewing starts. In addition to the “boring old” MP3 format, this week we’re trying a new M4A format with chapter breaks and embedded links and everything. Tres cool. The link for it is at the bottom of the post on http://MolksTVTalk.com, so jump on and download it and let us know what you think – please? Josh is being needy about it. On this week’s show: Excess Baggage survives – just. (2:44) The 46th Superbowl bowls them over superbly. (9:41) Ch9 faces a clash of the Cricket/NRL titans. (16:01) Ch10′s Breakfast looking for producers. In SYD & MEL only. (21:22) DWTS goes Scary. (24:45) Optus TV Now wins for now. (27:40) SteveMolk speaks with Scott Tweedie and Ash London from The Loop. (35:01) The Chaser sell out to Ch7, now with added Goodie. (42:04) Alcatraz vs Revenge, & Sherlock. (43:59) MKR smashing it out of the park. (47:21) The 2012 Molkies voting is about to start. (49:17) This week’s Must Watch TV. CleanMolksTVTalk the Podcast – S02E02 | For the first time EVER, Josh & SteveMolk were in the same place at the same time to record the podcast. FREAKY, right?! There was so much to cover off with it being the first “actual” podcast for the year and yet all that was crammed into under 10 minutes so something must be working. Also what comes with the new year is reinvention and so a big thanks to Nic Kelly for his bang up work on the new imaging for 2012. It almost sounds like we’re professionally amateur now. On this week’s show: What’s new in the next week. (2:16) Excess Baggage vs The Biggest Loser vs Home and Away (and My Kitchen Rules). (9:25) All the changes over summer, including some Willesee guy. (17:34) The Molkies are back – it’s nomination. (26:22) Adam Hills moves back into Gordon Street. Tonight. (30:52) So much sport over summer and what it did for the networks. (46:18) This week’s Must Watch TV. (54:53) Keep in touch with us – you can e-mail podcasts@molkstvtalk.com, tweet either Josh or SteveMolk and we’ll give you a shout out and everything. That’s just the kind of podcast w***es we are. We know you love it. MolksTVTalk – the Podcast. The Boys Light Up. | 2/1/12 | Free | View In iTunes |

CleanMolksTVTalk – the Podcast – S02E01 | We’re back, baby! There’s already so much going on in 2012 we can all barely keep up with it. The one thing we can be sure about: this year is going to be one of the most hotly contested ratings years we’ve seen in a long time. New boss at Ch10 vs Ch7′s big red train still barrelling along vs the ABC’s pluckiness vs Ch9 pushing hard to get out of the number 2 spot. This week, I (SteveMolk) had the chance to attend the Brisbane launch of Channel 7′s 2012 schedule and speak with a number of the network stars, local radio identities and Ch7 PR staff for this week’s podcast. In the middle you’ll hear some of the formal part of the evening hosted by Andrew O’Keeffe that includes interviews with the four Qld My Kitchen Rules contestants and the 7 News Brisbane team. Hang in right to the end for a sparking analysis of the AOK’s performance. You’ll also hear a lot of TV buzz words and catch phrases tossed around by TV types. Enjoy! MolksTVTalk – the Podcast. CleanMolksTVTalk – the Podcast (S01E17) | 2011 – the year that television kept on giving. And taking. But mostly giving. But when it took, it took HARD. For this very special review episode we were joined by Scott Ellis – media writer for Fairfax newspapers including the Sydney Morning Herald. We cast a critical eye across the programming that mattered, shattered and battered. Where did Channel 7 go wrong? Why did Channel 10 do that to themselves (and will it pay off)? Did Channel 9 manage to claw anything back to help them get closer to being the “home of comedy”? Was Rob Charlton the best Kerry Packer that ABC1 could afford? (The answer to that last question is a resounding YES.) It’s just like we’re sitting next to you in a cafe and talking way too loudly about stuff you might not care about as much as we do. This is our last podcast for 2011, but we’ll be returning in 2012 with a pre-season warm-up of all the shows, changes and schedules just before the ratings season kicks off. CleanMolksTVTalk – the Podcast – Rove McManus Special | When Rove McManus announced he was ending his long-running variety show on Channel 10, many people were shocked. Where would the future Big Brother contestants go to talk about their time in the house? Many questioned the same for Rove & wife Tasma Walton. Rove moved to LA, baby! After working the stand up circuit and spots on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, he decided he wanted his own show again, and got to work on Rove LA to air of FOX8 in Australia. After a slow start and some smart guest choices this relaxed talk show has settled in nicely on subscription TV – so nicely in fact that Rove revealed as we chatted he will be returning to Foxtel in 2012 with a new series. This interview was recorded the morning his final show of 2011 was to air in Australia, and he very generously spoke about some of the weirdness of being in America, American TV, his show, life with Tasma of a Friday night (careful, they’re not starkers!), getting his guests drunk and so much more… | 11/23/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

CleanMolksTVTalk – the Podcast (S01E16) | It’s a podcast of extremes: SteveMolk unleashes a no-holes barred barrage about Kyle Sandilands, Kyle’s television career and how Kyle does or doesn’t accepts criticism; Josh delicately balances on the fence not wanting to offend his current and possibly future employer by maintaining a very flaccid “objective” stance on the issue. We also speculate wildly over the content of the 2012 schedule launches of both ABC TV and Channel 9, while contemplating our navels and battling with ever-crappy internet speeds afecting Skype. (I also need to apologise for the length of this one. There was just so much we needed to cover.) TV, thy name be podcasted: This week’s News has been replaced by rants and speculation (1:41)… Kerri-Anne vs Sonia Kruger vs Ch9. Big Brother (among other things) confirmed for Ch9 in 2012. ABC program launch for 2012. Julia Morris wins Celeb Apprentice AU. Reece Mastin wins X Factor AU. Greta wins Junior MasterChef AU. Kyle & Jackie O’s Night With The Stars – a television enema. Jabba broadcasts backstage from the ARIAs. Warwick Capper’s World. Bye Bye Spicks and Specks. A finale of ratings (52:56). Even though it’s the end of ratings, there’s still some great MustWatch TV (58:08). A cast-iron guarantee – you send a letter to podcastsATmolkstvtalk.com, we’ll read it and reward you. CleanMolksTVTalk – the Podcast (S01E15) | It’s time to make a confession. When we started out with MolksTVTalk – the Podcast 15 episodes ago, we planned to deliver a tight 30 min program that had a good mix of news, an interview, a chat about the ratings and some recommendations of TV to watch. We wanted it to be entertaining, and we wanted to break some stories there as well as dive under the covers of the headlines and develop the story further. Fat chance of all that for this episode. At least it’s mostly entertaining. Mostly. We did get to have an excellent chat with actor/author/Sharks fan Brendan Cowell about his involvement in the making of The Slap for the ABC. A rare high point in an hour of low-brow humour. TV, thy name be podcasted: Stop! News time (1:00)… Obamarama comes to town! Diwani gets The Slap-down. Sonia Kruger to host BB 2012? YAWN! Golf on television. Stop! Brendan Cowell from The Slap intervivew time (21:03). Stop! Ratings time (42:25). Stop! MustWatch TV time (51:27). CleanMolksTVTalk – the Podcast – Myf Warhurst Special | Having now interviewed the delightful Myf Warhurst, we here at MolksTVTalk are two-thirds of the way through our Spicks & Specks interview trilogy. Can Brough be attained? Only time will tell… Myf very generously gave up some rehearsal time from the Spicks & Specktacular Finale tour the team are preparing for to speak with SteveMolk & Josh to speak about her time on the show. Plucked from relative obscurity working on Triple J Myf scored a role on what would go on to become one of the most engaging and disarming TV trivia quiz shows in a decade. We also go to speak about her favourite guest on the show, her new TV show, how often Hamish Blake appeared on the show, and how “easy” it is to make a hit TV show. Somebody please give Myf Warhurst a job – we want to see and hear more of her on our TV’s. | 11/9/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

CleanMolksTVTalk – the Podcast (S01E14) | If 14 is your lucky number, then you’re in the right place. It’s our special ranty pants edition of MolksTVTalk – the Podcast, and we weren’t afraid to drop truth bombs all over the place. In an exciting turn of events, our planned interview with Myf Warhurst has been held over and so we’ll publish a special chat with her later on Thursday (another special event). What it did mean was we could be more fluid with our opinions. Let’s face it, with a list of news stories like this, there’s a lot to be angry about. It was all very special and ranty: Lots of time for newsy-newsy-ness (3:49)… Wild Boys ride off into the wild. Kyle & Jackie O’s Night With The Stars. Too many jokes in the title alone. Since when is a Thorpie press conference its own show (& what happened to Libby Trickett?). New Idea Test Kitchen starts soon on 7Two. Good news! TV4 comes to metro mid-December. Calls for Media Watch to have its season extended. Removing the tweetstream from Q&A? Outrageous! Ch7 cancels Christmas. The Ratings Report (27:25). This week’s MustWatch TV (30:50). CleanMolksTVTalk – the Podcast – Adam Hills Special | For the moment there isn’t too much Adam Hills touches that doesn’t turn to gold. His food for one thing, I mean how would he eat if everything he touched actually turned to gold? That’s just crazy talk. In television, however, In Gordon Street Tonight was a hit at the start of 2011 and he’s also hosted the successful Spicks and Specks for 7 years (in between keeping a successful stand up career rolling along). I caught up with Adam on Melbourne Cup day in LA as he makes his way back from the UK after wowing audiences with his latest stand up show. He was very generous with his time, and the entire 35 minute interview is offered here as an extra special treat for fans. During the interview we discuss all sorts of things: Stand up and social media; Giving good panel; the sad upcoming end of Spicks and Specks; the Spicks & Specktacular finale tour; the Kardashians; How IGST got to be on the ABC; and The Human Centipede 2/Toy Story 3 DVD solution. Massive thanks to Adam for his time, Kelly Higgins-Devine for setting it up and helping record it, & Josh who executively produces the podcasts. | 11/2/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

CleanMolksTVTalk – the Podcast (S01E13) | Horses! Kim Kardashian! Julia Morris! Three entirely unrelated things except for the fact they are all on Australian television this week. While you were off sipping your champagne in a sponsored tent, SteveMolk & Josh were hard at work recording one of the best podcasts MolksTVTalk has delivered to date. Or at least making up the numbers, we haven’t decided yet. This week we were extremely luck to catch up with the hilarious Lady J-Mo herself while she was doing a spot of shopping… another day in paradise, really. Basking in the reflected glow of the aforementioned horsies: NEWS! Sounds like SPEWS! but with slightly more bile (2:00)… Changes on Weekend Sunrise. Who gives a krap about the Kardashians. No more George – until he turned up on The Project. Who’s on first: Qantas or the dead soldiers. Nine’s longest serving employee stars on Joy Of Sets. Interview with Julia Morris, One of the Celebrity Apprentice AU stars (15:00). Rate Me (29:20). Watch Me (34:43). We still accept letters, in ye olde style paper, electronic, facebooked and tweeted forms. CleanMolksTVTalk – the Podcast (S01E12) | With now one dozen episodes in the can, is there nothing we can’t do? Very clearly there’s lots, but we’ll continue podcasting nonetheless. We were very lucky to speak with Jason Jordan, proud West Australian and heavily involved in West TV (the “community” station based in Perth). His views on TV, community and otherwise, are very interesting and he’s never short of an opinion. In addition to this SteveMolk & Josh spend some time talking about the week’s alleged happenings, including the movements at Channel 7 staff-wise and horse-wise. As the sun rises over the West Australian desert, we chat about: All the news that’s fit to listen to and complain about (1:40)… Montana wins ANTM. Who’s allegedly moving where at Ch7 & Ch9. Person of Interest & Unforgettable picked up for full seasons in the US. Farewell 6:30… we loved you long time/New “The Project”. Denyer gets up close and personal with a Clydesdale. Josh apologises for hating on Celeb Apprentice. Interview with Jason Jordan, West Australian Media Mogul-in-the-making (21:30). Ratings you, Ratings me (38:30). Must. Watch. Televison. (42:30). ExplicitMolksTVTalk – the Podcast (S01E11) | A very special MolksTVTalk – the Podcast this week, as we speak to one of the hardest working men in Australian television: Pauly Fenech. A dead set legend, and exactly what you’d expect having seen him in his previous shows. His new show Housos is all that and more – you’ll have to see it to believe it. We also talk about the demise of George Negus and the possible rise of Kyle & Jackie O (shudder). In this episode we brought back from the Centrelinks: All the news that’s fit to listen to and complain about (1:00)… A clarification: Everybody wins. The axing of 6:30 with George Negus. It’s a Knockout confirmed with HG Nelson, Brad McEwan & Charli Robinson. A new show for Kyle & Jackie O? Say it isn’t so! Randoms: Celebrity Apprentice airdate; Charlie’s Angels axed. Someone sent us an acutal letter! Interview with Pauly Fenech, creator/director/producer of Housos (20:30). It’s all about the ratings (35:20). It’s all about the things you MustWatch (37:20). CleanMolksTVTalk – the Podcast (S01E10) | This week, we’re celebrating the first season of The Renovators and the finale involving the sale of all 6 houses tonight (Wed 12/10) on Channel 10. SteveMolk & Josh get their fanboyisms on and talk up a storm with the judge with the best asian goatee ever, Peter Ho. There’s also a great disagreement about who’s responsibility it is to advance expectations around television advertisments, with particular reference to the numerous ad breaks in the Bathurst 1000 telecast and the complete lack of creativity therein. Yes, “therein”. In this fully renovated episode: News Of The World (??)… Everybody wins at everything. All the time. It’s A Knockout! Allegedly. The decisive fanboy review of The Renovators. Big Brother Australia to return after the 2012 London Olympics on Ch9. Interview with Peter Ho, one of the judges from The Renovators (??). What’s going down in Ratings town (??). CleanMolksTVTalk – the Podcast (S01E09) | This week, we share your pain in the delivery of MolksTVTalk the Podcast, Episode 8S (it’s not quite 9, but it’s just as good for now). As usual there’s ranting, raving and recollections of conversations with far more famous people than either of the hosts. SteveMolk took the chance to speak with Rob Mills – soon to be host of 2012 Young Talent Time on Channel 10 – when he was in Brisbane for the local auditions. We also get far too sidetracked at the mention of ‘the birds and the bees’ and psychics. Worst. Episode. Ever. In this special episode, we talked about these special things: In the News (2:00)… The MeatLoaf was off at the AFL Grand Final. All new TV all the time. No Joy Of Sets?! Beauty & the Geek CONTROVERSY (Bendeguz is an actor?!). Our first letters segment. Our interview with Rob ‘Millsy’ Mills, host of 2012 Young Talent Time (15:30). CleanMolksTVTalk – the Podcast (S01E08) | Episode Bazillion? Well, that’s how we count success here at MolksTVTalk, as we launch into another fine effort discussing this week of Australian television. Friend of the show Craig Reucassel stopped by to talk with us about the new show from The Chaser, The Hamster Wheel starting this Wednesday at 9:30pm. We even had another special guest in our voice-over girl Stacey stopping by to share her moments of television must-watch-ness. Amongst the chaos, these things made the cut: The NRL & AFL take Optus to court (when will Mum & Dad & new Mum stop fighting?). The Brownlow spins out of control. There’s “fast-tracking” and there’s “fast”-tracking. So just WHAT is TV4? Really? Happy Birthday to GEM & 7mate. SteveMolk & Josh interview Craig Reucassel – and he tolerated us. We open a book on how long Good News World will last (talking ratings). Special Guest Stacey shares her one must watch show. Be prepared! Next week we’re having a letters segment, and we’d love to hear from you – e-mail us at podcastsATmolkstvtalk.com and your missive WILL get on the podcast. CleanMolksTVTalk – the Podcast (S01E06) | Someone has a lot to answer for. Somehow this week Josh acquired a special effects CD that gets more than a run in this episode of MolksTVTalk – the Podcast. All that we can offer up front is that we hope you laugh along with the insanity. We do get to have two cracking interviews however – one with Luke Jacobz, host of The X Factor Australia; and Tony Martin, one half of the hosting team of The Joy of Sets. It may sound like Tony’s coming to you live from Bolvia… but I suspect it’s the thugs in the scallop industry. In the podcast, we talked about a lot of stuff: Channel 9 is bringing Big Brother back in 2012. The Joy of Sets premieres on Ch9 Tue 20/09 at 9pm. Glee’s back! Actually legitimately fasttracked! The cast of the Celebrity Apprentice has been announced. “Celebrity”. SteveMolk speaks with Luke Jacobz about the X Factor Australia. Josh & SteveMolk go gaga over Tony Martin and his new show The Joy Of Sets. The Ratings. Our MustWatch shows for the week.
