Thinly vailed anti-mormon hate speach - not representative Chruch of Jesus Christ.ofLatter-DaySaints

Having served an LDS mission in the northern provinces of Argentina a few years after this man describes I can relate to some of what he says. Pressures to produce investigators, challenges, and even Elder's wanting to Baptize people who are not ready. However, there are subtle falsehoods in what this man is saying.

If someone in my mission or a neighboring mission did what he is describing they would be sent home in disgrace the instant it was discovered by the mission president. Faith was the determining factor that was used as a tool to say "fill the font" or "imagine the people you teach in white" and the motivation was overwhelmingly to help your fellow man, not to achieve "sales objectives." Further I find it interesting that he claims to have been "raised by the church" but seems to have missed a few things along the way: 1. Holding the office of Elder in the priesthood means that you stand up for what's right with an "oath" to God, not to your Church leaders, 2. Following the old adage "I was ordered to do it" holds no weight with me, nor would it with any other Elders that discovered such a blasphemy, 3. The church teaches about something called unrighteous dominion in a book called the Doctrine and Covenants section 121, it is heartily condemned by this revelation from Jesus saying "...the heavens withdraw and Amen to the power of that man..." 4. The Church would never alow such baptisms to stay on the records of the church when discovered and was very swift to hand out dishonorable releases to missionaries, along with their plane tickets home and in some cases where serious personal sin was involved excommunication.

If what this man says is true in his first podcast he should have been reprimanded for standing idly by and "being obedient" witnessing this travesty. He is as guilty as they are for 1. not reporting it and 2. allowing it to happen with not even a word of protest. Representing members of the Church of Jesus-Christ of Latter-Day Saints as obedient automatons may be a convenient way to dismiss them, but it is as false an idea as I can think of. The freedom to choose and then verify what is said and decide for yourself is one of the core doctrines practiced by church members, and taught in Discussion 1, Principal 3 entitled "God's method of revealing truth," (see Bible verse Amos 3:7) the same discussion manuals I used as a Zone Leader in Spanish Speaking Argentina a few years later. It's a shame he went all that time and didn't read or understand this extremely basic principle contained in the first missionary lesson -- I averaged teaching it 30 times per week.

I find it very difficult to believe that this man was simply to week minded to understand his responsibilities as a "representative of Christ" (missionary and Elder in priesthood) enough to do the right thing. It is simply not believable to say that a group of Elders or a mission president would allow or condone this sort of action, mentioned in episode 1.

If on the other hand he is like several disgraced Elders that were sent home for sleeping with a local girl or improperly baptizing or exiting mission boundaries, which possibility I find much more likely, then his motivations are different. I had a professor than had been sent home due to immoral behavior on his mission (dating as a missionary is strictly forbidden as is any contact beyond arm's length). He was very bitter and planned each lesson plan around introducing anti-Mormon ideas. Tolerance for someone like this seems unbearable for them, because they have been part of the group, disgraced themselves through sin, been offered a path to repentance and in some cases reject it. If there is a better example of a "wolf in sheep's clothing" I don't know what it would be. This man is a very calm subtle liar, with hatred in his heart. This is apparent to members of the church, anyone who served a mission honorably, and especially to those of us who served in this approximate time in Latin America. I loved my time among those humble people. I am a better person for working to make a difference in the lives of others.

Such anti-Mormon hate speech should not be allowed on iTunes. The fact that it is called "mormon stories" should have been m first clue. It is not the Mormon Church. It is the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Among ant-Mormon literature the correct name of the church mysteriously never appears and in its place "The Mormon Church" is repeated ad nausium.

Unsure of who to believe see Bible verses Matthew 7:16-17, 20, or the following scriptures from that old 1st missionary lesson this man was not to clear on: James 1:5, Amos 3:7 and even Book of Mormon Moroni Chapter 10:3-5 (last chapter of book).

Also see Book of Mormon, Mormon Chapter 7 about good trees producing good fruit etc.
