Acts 12: 1-5 â âÂÂAbout that time King Herod Agrippa began to persecute some believers in the church. He had the apostle James (JohnâÂÂs brother) killed with a sword. When Herod saw how much this pleased the Jewish leaders, he arrested Peter during the Passover celebration and imprisoned him, placing him under the guard of four squads of four soldiers each. HerodâÂÂs intention was to bring Peter out or public trial after the Passover. But while Peter was in prison, the church prayed very earnestly for him.â PRAYERS THAT BLESS, ANSWER FOUR FUNDAMENTAL QUESTIONS: 1. IS IT ALL __________________________OR NOT? If you enter your place of worship and, about to make an offering, you suddenly remember a grudge a friend has against you, abandon your offering, leave immediately, go to this friend and make things right. Amen. RELIGION - MANâÂÂS _____________ TO PLEASE GOD BY ADHERING TO _______ AND REGULATIONS. Who wrote Galatians? _________ When was it written? _________ A.D. Why was it written? Correct __________ teaching Galatians 1:6-7a- I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting the one who called you by the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel-which is really no gospel at all. WHY ARE MANY DRAWN TO RELIGION? 1) PROVIDES A SYSTEM OF ____________. 2) PROVIDES A FALSE ________________. THE PROBLEM WITH RELIGION: RELIGION BRINGS ___________________. Galatians 1:7b - Evidently some people are throwing you into confusion and are trying to pervert the gospel of Christ. Galatians 1:8- But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let him be eternally condemned! Anathema â Consecrated to complete destruction. 2) RELIGION FOCUSES ON __________________. Galatians 1:10- Am I now trying to win the approval of men, or of God? Or am I trying to please men? If I were still trying to please men, I would not be a servant of Christ. Religion is spelled âÂÂdo.â Christianity is spelled âÂÂdone.â Religion is manâÂÂs attempt to reach God. Christianity is GodâÂÂs attempt to reach man. Religion focuses on the external. Christianity focuses on the internal. Galatians 1:11,12- I want you to know, brothers, that the gospel I preached is not something that man made up. I did not receive it from any man, nor was I taught it; rather, I received it by revelation from Jesus Christ. Galatians 1:13- For you have heard of my previous way of life in Judaism, how intensely I persecuted the church of God and tried to destroy it. I'm Mad at God | Download Message Notes CHURCHHATESME.com - WEEK 4 âÂÂIâÂÂm Mad at God!â July 11th, 2010 Gary Baldus â Lead Pastor CHURCH = JESUS MAD AT JESUS = MAD AT CHURCH 3 THINGS YOU MUST KNOW ABOUT GOD: 1.GOD IS WAY MORE DESPERATE FOR YOU, _______________________. Mark 5:21-24- When Jesus had again crossed over by boat to the other side of the lake, a large crowd gathered around him while he was by the lake. Then one of the synagogue rulers, named Jairus, came there. Seeing Jesus, he fell at his feet and pleaded earnestly with him, "My little daughter is dying. Please come and put your hands on her so that she will be healed and live." So Jesus went with him. A large crowd followed and pressed around him. 2. GOD DOES NOT ALWAYS DO_______________________ HIM TO DO. Mark 5:25-34- And a woman was there who had been subject to bleeding for twelve years. She had suffered a great deal under the care of many doctors and had spent all she had, yet instead of getting better she grew worse. When she heard about Jesus, she came up behind him in the crowd and touched his cloak, because she thought, "If I just touch his clothes, I will be healed." Immediately her bleeding stopped and she felt in her body that she was freed from her suffering. At once Jesus realized that power had gone out from him. He turned around in the crowd and asked, "Who touched my clothes?" "You see the people crowding against you," his disciples answered, "and yet you can ask, 'Who touched me?' " But Jesus kept looking around to see who had done it. Then the woman, knowing what had happened to her, came and fell at his feet and, trembling with fear, told him the whole truth. He said to her, "Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace and be freed from your suffering." 3. GODâÂÂS PLANS FOR US, ARE GREATER THAN _____________________.Mark 5:35-43- While Jesus was still speaking, some men came from the house of Jairus, the synagogue ruler. "Your daughter is dead," they said. "Why bother the teacher any more?" Ignoring what they said, Jesus told the synagogue ruler, "Don't be afraid; just believe." He did not let anyone follow him except Peter, James and John the brother of James. When they came to the home of the synagogue ruler, Jesus saw a commotion, with people crying and wailing loudly. He went in and said to them, "Why all this commotion and wailing? The child is not dead but asleep." But they laughed at him. After he put them all out, he took the child's father and mother and the disciples who were with him, and went in where the child was. He took her by the hand and said to her, "Talitha koum!" (which means, "Little girl, I say to you, get up!" ). Immediately the girl stood up and walked around (she was twelve years old). At this they were completely astonished. He gave strict orders not to let anyone know about this, and told them to give her something to eat. ⢠GOD DOESNâÂÂT NEED YOUR PLANS- _____________________________. THIS WEEKâÂÂS WORSHIP PLAYLIST 1. He has always hated the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, it is consistent with his character; for he is a liar and the father of lies. So when I tell the truth, you just naturally donâÂÂt believe me! Which of you can truthfully accuse me of sin? And since I am telling you the truth, why donâÂÂt you believe me? Anyone who belongs to God listens gladly to the words of God. But you donâÂÂt listen because you donâÂÂt belong to God.â 2 DIFFERENT DESTINATIONS Luke 16:19-22- Jesus said, âÂÂThere was a certain rich man who was splendidly clothed in purple and fine linen and who lived each day in luxury. At his gate lay a poor man named Lazarus who was covered with sores. As Lazarus lay there longing for scraps from the rich manâÂÂs table, the dogs would come and lick his open sores.âÂÂFinally, the poor man died and was carried by the angels to be with Abraham. The rich man also died and was buried, â¦â ** YOUR DESTINY IS NOT _________________. THE TRUTH ABOUT HELL = ____________ ____________ _____________ ______________ ______________ _______________ Luke 16:23-24; 26-28- âÂÂand his soul went to the place of the dead. There, in torment, he saw Abraham in the far distance with Lazarus at his side. 24 âÂÂThe rich man shouted, âÂÂFather Abraham, have some pity! Send Lazarus over here to dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue. I am in anguish in these flames.â â¦ 26 And besides, there is a great chasm separating us. No one can cross over to you from here, and no one can cross over to us from there.â 27 âÂÂThen the rich man said, âÂÂPlease, Father Abraham, at least send him to my fatherâÂÂs home. 28 For I have five brothers, and I want him to warn them so they donâÂÂt end up in this place of torment.â THE FACTS HAVE BEEN PRESENTED: Luke 16:25; 29-31- âÂÂBut Abraham said to him, âÂÂSon, remember that during your lifetime you had everything you wanted, and Lazarus had nothing. So now he is here being comforted, and you are in anguish. ⦠âÂÂBut Abraham said, âÂÂMoses and the prophets have warned them. Your brothers can read what they wrote.â âÂÂThe rich man replied, âÂÂNo, Father Abraham! But if someone is sent to them from the dead, then they will repent of their sins and turn to God.â âÂÂBut Abraham said, âÂÂIf they wonâÂÂt listen to Moses and the prophets, they wonâÂÂt listen even if someone rises from the dead.âÂÂâ A ______________ MUST BE MADE: Matthew 7:21-23- âÂÂNot everyone who calls out to me, âÂÂLord! I love God, but I dont fear Him. | Download Message Notes DIVIDED - WEEK 3 âÂÂI LOVE GOD, BUT I DONâÂÂT FEAR HIMâ April 18th, 2010 Gary Baldus â Lead Pastor A CHRISTIAN ATHEIST IS SOMEONE WHO BELIEVES IN GOD, BUT ACTS AS IF HE DOESNâÂÂT EXIST. 2 Timothy 3:1-9- But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of Godâ having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with them. They are the kind who worm their way into homes and gain control over weak-willed women, who are loaded down with sins and are swayed by all kinds of evil desires, always learning but never able to acknowledge the truth. Just as Jannes and Jambres opposed Moses, so also these men oppose the truthâÂÂmen of depraved minds, who, as far as the faith is concerned, are rejected. But they will not get very far because, as in the case of those men, their folly will be clear to everyone. WHEN YOU TRULY FEAR GOD⦠YOUâÂÂLL BE OBEDIENT TO HIM WHOLEHEARTEDLY WITHOUT ANY _______________. Genesis 22:12- "Do not lay a hand on the boy," he said. "Do not do anything to him. Now I know that you fear God, because you have not withheld from me your son, your only son." John 14:15- If you love me, you will obey what I command. YOUâÂÂLL BE FOREVER _____________. Isaiah 6:5- "Woe to me!" I cried. "I am ruined! For I am a man of unclean lips, and I live among a people of unclean lips, and my eyes have seen the King, the LORD Almighty." Isaiah 6:8- Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, "Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?" And I said, "Here am I. Send me!" WHEN YOU FEAR THE LORD YOU WILL HAVE: _______________ Psalm 25:12- Who is the man who fears the LORD? He will instruct him in the way he should choose. _______________ Psalm 103:13- As a father has compassion on his children, so the LORD has compassion on those who fear Him. _______________ Proverbs 22:4 - The reward of humility and the fear of the LORD are riches, honor and life. _______________ Psalm 34:9-10- O fear the LORD, you His saints; For to those who fear Him there is no want. The young lions do lack and suffer hunger; But they who seek the LORD shall not be in want of any good thing. _______________ Psalm 25:14 - The secret of the LORD is for those who fear Him. And He will make them know His covenant. THIS WEEKâÂÂS WORSHIP PLAYLIST 1. SALVATION IS HERE 2. MADE TO WORSHIP 3. HALLELUJAH 4. RESCUE 5.
